Studii preliminare privind utilizarea speciilor legumicole în conceptul grădinilor urbane
This paper presents a literature preview regarding the use of vegetable species in the concept of urban gardens. The designing of the utilitarian gardens dates back from the antiquity when they were particularly important as a source of food. With the emergence of the concept of "edible landscaping", which promotes the use of edible plant species along with ornamental plant species in landscaping, the utilitarian garden has acquired aesthetic valences as an integral part of the green space set up on private property in the urban area and not only. Starting from the desire of people to have a place to produce some of the necessary vegetables and aromatic plants in the small space around the houses and to enjoy a recreation space, will be studied different systems of use of vegetable plants in order to develop concrete measures for the development of decorative vegetable gardens in the private environment in urban and periurban areas, taking into account the possibilities of association of the leguminous plants in raised bed
Screening of some sunflower hybrids for drought tolerance under laboratory conditions
Helianthus annuus L. is one of the most important crops in the world, widely cultivated for its edible seeds and highquality oil with a wide range of application in human consumption, oleochemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics
industries and also for biodiesel production. In the environment with changing climatic conditions the global
agricultural production (including sunflower seeds) suffers considerable decrease due to the negative impact of abiotic
factors such as heat, drought, salinity etc. Therefore, one of the main objectives of the breeders is to obtain drought
tolerant varieties, which can express their full yield potential inclusively under drastic water deficiency. Though
sunflower is considered drought-tolerant crop, it is very sensitive to water deficit at the stage of germination, seedling
and flowering. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate drought tolerance potential in some new sunflower
experimental hybrids at germination and early seedling growth stages under laboratory conditions using PEG-6000.
Two levels of osmotic stress (induced by PEG concentrations 10 and 20%) were created and the reaction of genotypes
was evaluated against a control. Germination rate (GR), germination stress tolerance index (GSI), plant height stress
index (PHSI), root length stress index (RLSI) and dry matter stress index (DMSI) were used to determine the genotypic
response to water stress. Drought stress affected the germination rate and seedling traits in all samples, indicating
significant differences among genotypes and PEG concentrations. Plant height and seedling fresh weight are the most
affected, such as a significant reduction of these parameters was observed in all sunflower genotypes. In contrast, an
increase in RLSI was observed in the majority of tested sunflower hybrids. The hybrids HM1, HM11, HM14, HM17
and HM20 created by Moldavian Company AMG-Agroselect Comert and H5, H9 and H17 belonged from NARDI
Fundulea, Romania performed well among evaluated sunflower genotypes, indicating a greater tolerance in terms of
germination rate, shoot and root development, as well as dry plants weight at both levels of water stress. The genotypes
with best performance could be recommended for breeding program and cultivation in areas with water deficiency
during the germination and early seedling growth stages
Aspects regarding the safety in operation of Dracsani reservoir
The dam of Dracsani reservoir, located on Sitna river, is an earth dam with a maximum height of 5.35 m that provides a
global retention to the canopy of 23.053 hm3
. Dracsani reservoir is one of the hydrotechnical constructions that were
built to protect the downstream villages against the floods. This paper presents a brief description of the dam and it also
focuses on aspects regarding the behaviour monitoring of Dracsani reservoir, during the flood that occurred on Sitna
river in June - July 2018. Several exceeding of critical rainfall thresholds were highlighted at the rain gauge from the
Dracsani reservoir. The exploitation of Dracsani reservoir was done with an increased degree of attention. The paper
concludes that the flood was transited through the reservoir without major incidents
Sistemele agrosilvice pot fi practici obţinute în România?
Agroforestry system seams to be necessary in Romania because the climate has undergone important changes and some of ecosystems are degradated; agroforestry systems ensuring the long-term enhancement of environmental quality. There are some types of agro-forestry that can be applied in Romania, some have been applied to certain extent, others can be implemented for the first time. In the first category enters forestry shelterbelts for crops protection, pastures with trees, forestry shelterbelts for the protection of watercourses, the seconds includes other types of agroforestry systems among which it is presenteda case study”agroforestry hunting system” which have been developed bysmallholders farmers

The hepatoprotective effect of some herbal and mineral preparations in the treatment of various hepatopathies in dogs and cats
A series of herbal medicines and minerals such as milk thistle, curcumin, sea buckthorn, artichoke and zeolite can be used as alternative solutions in scavenging oxygen free radicals incriminated in triggering of liver disease. The aim of this study was the therapeutic application of different herbal and mineral preparations with antioxidant properties and evaluation of their hepatoprotective potential in the complex therapy management of various types of liver disorders diagnosed in dogs and cats. The study was performed between October 2016 – September 2017 on 16 dogs and 4 cats of different breeds, sexes and ages which were presented and diagnosed with different degrees of liver failure in Medical Clinic of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from Iasi. Anamnesis and physical examination have highlighted that the clinical onset of liver disease was nonspecific, in most cases, the diagnosis of a liver disorder could be deduced from the results of the biochemical tests corroborated with the ultrasound findings. The therapeutic management of liver disease has depended on the etiopathology, the degree of biochemical resonance of the cytolytic, cholestatic process and the synthesis imbalance in the liver as well as the presence or absence of complications of the liver pathology. Thus, according to the established protocol, patients were divided in three groups and they received the basic drug treatment in combination with hepatoprotective preparations of vegetal and mineral origin, respectively, milk thistle (silymarin), curcumin, sea buckthorn and zeolite. The inclusion of phytotherapy in the complex treatment of liver disease has contributed to the normalization of hepatic transaminases and cholestasis parameters. A positive therapeutic result was obtained after therapy with antioxidants from vegetable origin in mild and average forms of liver disease. In the final stage of the liver disease, treatment with natural hepatoprotective agents had a palliative character with transient reduction of clinical signs and temporary improvement of quality of life
Studii privind competenţa genotipică în embriogeneza microsporilor de Brassica oleracea cultivaţi in vitro
In Brassica species the obtaining of doubled haploid plants is a key tool for the production of commercial F1 hybrids. Among the many methods employed for this purpose, the culture of isolated microspores offers the opportunity to generate double haploid embryos starting from single haploid cells, thus assuring the genetic purity of haploid plants obtained. The effect of donor genotype on the success of isolated microspores cultures was investigated by many authors in different cultivated species, the results demonstrate that it plays a key role. Genetic factors not only influence the viability of microspores and frequency of normal embryos but also therate of plant regeneration. In this paper, a complete screening of microspores viability as well as embryo development under the influence of genotype is presented
