Marketing margins of selected stakeholders in the supply chain of dates in South Punjab, Pakistan
Date is one of the major cash
fruits in Pakistan. Presently Pakistan stands
at sixth position in dates producing
countries. Date occupies third position after
citrus and mango in terms of fruit area and
production. The present study was
conducted to explore the current margins of
various stakeholders involved in the existing
marketing system of dates in two leading
districts of South Punjab district, as Dera
Ghazi Khan and Muzaffar Garh. A sample
of 40 farmers, 30 commission agents,
30 wholesalers, 30 retailers and 30
consumers was selected randomly. Pretested
questionnaires were used to collect
the data from selected respondents through
personal interviews. Private sector is
dominant in all major marketing activities.
The market intermediaries in date marketing
system involve commission agent,
wholesaler and retailer. Different
intermediaries were taking different margins
according to form of dates and locality. In
Dera Ghazi khan, commission agent was
getting 13.55%, wholesaler 11.71% and
retailer, 18.09% margins of marketing chain
for fresh date and share of growers in
consumer price was 56.09%. Commission
agent was taking 14.13%, wholesaler,
10.67% and retailer 17.2%; margin of
marketing chain for fresh date and share of
growers in consumer price was 58% in
Muzaffar Garh. The price of date is much
high due to long chain of marketing system.
In order to reduce the wholesale and retail
prices, government should take measures to
establish date marketing centers and supply
chain management training programs for the
date growers
Valoarea agrobiologică şi tehnologică a unor soiuri vechi româneşti de viţă de vie (Vitis vinifera L.) cultivate în podgoria Iaşi
Global warming, as an extreme climatic phenomenon, shows a strong influence on vine cultivation, leading to the reconsideration of the cultivated grape varieties. The extreme heat during grapes’ maturation results in a unbalanced qualitative profile (too high sugar concentration and too low acidity concentration), losing on the way some of the wines specific for certain regions. In this article, ancient Romanian grape varieties were studied, that have been neglected in recent years and that can be reconsidered for the current conditions. The following varietieswere studied: Ardeleanca, Braghina, Cruciuliţă, Cionic, cultivated in the ampelographic collection of USAMV Iaşi. These varieties in the past were part of the old varieties of the Romanian vineyards, being cultivated before the phylloxera invasion and bringing the note of originality specific to each vineyard. Many of them have a meritorious behavior, and can be highlighted in the new zoning works of Romanian vines
Profitability analysis of the use auto-contour heder in soy crop harvesting
The purpose of the paper is to analyze the profitability of the use of the auto-contour heder (12 m long) compared with
the conventionally one used for soya crop. The objectives were to determine the yield and productivity of soybean crop
(plant average height, number of pods per plant, height of insertion of the first floor of pods). Also, it was determined
the cutting height of the auto-contour heder compared to the conventional one. The profitability analysis consisted in
determining the costs, incomes and returns compared with the use of the auto-contour heder versus the conventional
one. The research was carried out under pedoclimatic conditions of the Făcăeni locality, Ialomiţa County, on a
relatively flat land with a chernozem cambic soil, well supplied in N, P, K with a slightly alkaline pH. The
determinations were carried out both in irrigated and not-irrigated systems. To obtain conclusive results, a number of
100 replications were performed on the 2 ha plot, the results being statistically processed by variance analysis and F
test. Analysis of the results indicated that in case of soya crop the use of auto-contour heder is more profitability
compared to the conventional one, especially in the case of irrigated crops, and yield was higher with 950 kg ha-1 of
grain than with non-irrigated crops
Conceptual approaches to communication in the audit of financial statements
The purpose of this paper is to present some aspects of communication in the activity of financial accounting audit.
Audit builds on two pillars: reporting and communication. The audit report is the main means of communication
between the auditor and the users of the audited financial statements and undergoes significant global transformations.
The end result is a new and improved audit report that provides more transparency on the important aspects of the audit
and better describes what the audit is and what the auditor does
Aspecte privind trasarea benzilor de inundabilitate şi întocmirea hărţilor de hazard în urma cedării lucrărilor hidrotehnice
Current climate change, materialized bythe increase in the number of extreme rainfall phenomena, combined with increasing anthropogenic activity (massive deforestation), causes the flood process to appear more and more often and with increasing impact on the human component and its habitat, causing hydrological accidents. . These accidents are called hydrological hazards. Hydrological hazards are natural phenomena, which imply the existence of water, which have a direct negative influence on people's lives, on society and on the environment as a whole. The results of the flood study can be better used if integrated into a GIS model. By over lay technique, all data of interest can be stored, with specific representations of levels, speeds, times, and other elements of the evolution of the phenomenon
Degerative aspects observed in seminiferous tubules in quails (Coturnix Japonica) testis after monosodium glutamate administration in feed
Sodium glutamate, an amino acid used as a flavor enhancer, is a controversial substance being incriminated in the appearance of obesity in human populations among others. Its administration in animal feed increases weight gain, but side effects such as decreased fertility and degenerative changes in liver and kidney have been observed. To study the effects of monosodium glutamate toxicity on the male reproductive system, one hundred thirty-four Japanese quails (Coturnix japonica) were divided into 4 groups. Monosodium glutamate was admninistrated for 30 days in different concentrations in 3 groups: 10g/kg feed for group I, 30g/kg feed for group II, 50 g/kg feed for group III. For the individuals in group II and III, was observed the reduction in the number of germline and sperm cells compared to the control group, the presence of degenerative Sertoli cells and spermatic cells with pyknotic nuclei, the presence of vacuoles among seminiferous tubule cells. The degenerative, necrotic and inflammatory changes observed demonstrate the toxic effects of glutamate on male reproductive system and on fertility
Studiu privind influenţa diferitelor variante de mulcire asupra capacităţii agroproductive a patru cultivare diferite de busuioc
The goalof this paper is toevaluatethe effect of mulching on the yield of four basil cultivars, cultivated according to the ecological agricultural rules:Aromat de Buzau–green basil, Serafim–violet basil, Macedon–lemon-flavoured basil and a clove-flavoured basil local population. The experiment was carried outduring2018, in theexperimental fieldof Vegetable Growing Disciplineof U.S.A.M.V. Iasi. The cropwas established via seedlings, at distances of 50 x 20 cm, resulting a density of 100000 plants/ha. The obtained results showed that the factors cultivar and mulching applicationhad a significant relevance on yield. Cultivars determined significant yield differences and mulching application determined an important increase of the yield (16.8%)
Determinarea conductivităţii stomatice şi a conţinutului de clorofilă a unor cultivare locale de fasole, din regiunea de nord-est a României, sub influenţa stresului salin
Beans is a salt-sensitive species. For this reason, the purpose of the face work was to determine the effect of excess NaCl on the some physiological processes such as photosynthesis and transpiration. Research has focused on dynamics of the chlorophylle content index and foliar stomatic conductivity, in the case of 7 bean genotypes, as an indicator of salt stress tolerance. The biological material was represented by seven bean genotypes, collected from saline soils in the Moldavian region, in 2018 and exposed to salt stress over a 30-day period. They were constantly wetted with saline at a concentration of 100 mM and 200 mM NaCl. Stomatale conductance decrease is a mechanism of resistance to salinity as it prevents water loss from plants. As a response to osmotic component of salt stress to reduce transpiration stomata are partially closed, so we can conclude that genotypes Blăgeşti 2 shows better tolerance to osmotic stress, compared with other genotypes. After 30 days at 200 mM NaCl, the genotypes Blăgeşti 2, Blăgeşti 3, Blăgeşti 4 and Truşeşti 2 are superior to the control plants, indicating a good adaptation to intense photosynthetic rhythm. Saline stress influences stomatic conductivite foliar and chlorophylle content, causing significant differences between genotypes
