The microelements content in the eroded carbonatic chernozem from central area of Moldova

    No full text
The chernozems carbonatic eroded on the territory of the Republic of Moldova occupy the area of 294 thousand ha (44.2% of the total area). These soils are most vulnerable to erosion processes in all chernozem subtypes. Loss of macro- and micro-nutrients on agricultural land is significant and has become an important issue for agricultural production. The results of Mn, Co, Zn, Cu, Ni determination (atomic absorption spectrophotometer) in the arable layer of eroded chernozem revealed that water erosion influences their distribution in soils. The average content in the non eroded carbonatic chernozem is: Mn - 654, Cu - 32, Co - 14, Zn - 38, Ni - 40 mg/kg. With increases of erosion degree, the total content of Cu, Zn, Co and Mn decreases in the range of 3-35%, the Ni content increases, from 6% to 78% compared to the non eroded soil. The losses of microelements in the heavily eroded carbonatic chernozem were: Cu - 35%, Zn - 31%, Mn - 27% compared to non eroded soil. The Mn, Zn, Co and Ni content in the eroded carbonatic chernozem is higher than the average quantity for carbonatic chernozems, and the Cu content is lower

Four local populations of Prunus domestica from Buzau -Pătârlagele city were analysed to evaluate the resistance to frost as well as the organogenesis process. To evaluate the frost resistance of the flower buds two moments were chosen -late February and first decade of April. In the first determination, more than 50% of the analysed buds showed different kinds of damage on flower components, while at the second determination most of the buds remaining on the branch were viable.Theevaluation of the flower organogenesis process carried out at the end of February revealed differences inthe stage of carpel development, while the rest of the floral organs were formed in all four populations

The importance of crop structure optimization in agricultural management

    No full text
Mathematical programming models and especially their subclasses - linear programming models - occupy a particularly important place, both in theory and in economic practice being used in various fields. Their application in agricultural management comes as a basis for decisions on the resources allocation or the assignation of a certain crop structure in terms of efficiency aiming at the economic optimum. The crop structure can also be optimized using other specific methods, the most known being the multiple variants method and the planning program. Model setting is conditioned by the use of electronic computing because the multitude of restrictions and the complexity of mathematical relationships cannot be solved without specific programs. The solutions obtained are variants that an agricultural farmer can use to achieve the objectives of the unit, being able to immediately see the effects of potential changes in the initially introduced parameters and act accordingly. Obtaining correct results is conditioned by the prior setting of limit values (minimum outputs, minimum or maximum areas required by certain natural, economic or managerial conditions, weights associated with different crops, etc.) the correct definition of the objective function in order to insure the correctness of the mathematical relationships representing the restrictions imposed and by faithfully scrutinizing the stages specific to the scientific approach in order to achieve the objectives proposed by the agricultural holding or the area concerned. The paper analyzes the importance of using the linear programming method in agricultural management and exemplifies by presenting a model for optimizing the structure of crops in the Iasi county, highlighting the advantages and limitations of this method as well as possible future research directions

In Europe the most important pathogens that produce the breakage belong to the genus Fusarium, being F. graminearum, F. culmorum, F. avenaceum, F. poae, F. oxysporum and F. lateritium. Corn fusariosis is one of the main problems of this crop, encompassing all the areas around the world where this plant is grown. The most widespread species in the western area of Romania are: F. moniliforme and F. graminearum. Pathogens contribute to the degradation and quantitative and qualitative decrease of production on average by 20-25%. A limited number of diseases can damage the maize crops, causing significant losses of production. Among these are fusarian diseases which, due to their frequency and intensity, can be considered the most damaging for corn crops (Mureşan et al, 1973; Moose, 2004; Nagy et al 2006). Fusarium diseases reduce the value and quality of crops by massive accumulation of mycelial masses of mushrooms of the genus Fusarium (about 85%) on berries and earbuds as well as contamination with specific mycotoxins such as deoxynivalenol (DON), zearalenone (ZEA) and fumonisin (FUM) (Vyn and Tolenar, 1998; Yazar and Omurtag, 2008). This experience at the ARDS Lovrin corn amelioration laboratory is aimed at obtaining an initial material resistant to this disease, sorting, selecting existing material within the laboratory, and genetic aspects of maize resistance to this disease. Experience has taken place in the experimental field of the laboratory. In order to study this disease, (respectively the two species of Fusarium), three types of infections were carried out according to the organ of the plant: stalk (It); seed infections (Is); ear infections (Isht). The experimental genotypes are inbred lines in the crossbreeding program (25 variants) of different precocity groups, as well as inbred lines of parental forms of hybrids in culture and those proposed for homologation

Compliance with hygiene rules in milking animals prevents dirt from contaminating vegetable matter and contaminating it with microorganisms that can get into milk through them, negatively influencing the hygienic quality of milk. The investigations regarding the quality of raw sheep's milk for cheese processing took place between 2017 and 2018 on samples taken from Botoşani and Iaşi counties, from traditional farms with an average of 250 sheep, where the Turcana breeds predominated and Tigaie. The investigations were conducted to determine the degree of freshness, integrity, and we monitored some physico-chemical and microbiological parameters of the raw material. The sampling was done directly from the collection vessels after milking and filtration mainly during the hot season and their processing was carried out in the Food Control Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Iasi, where 53 samples of milk were processed sheep. Following sample analysis, 8 samples were inadequate for organoleptic examination and integrity. Deviations from the organoleptic characters of appearance, color, odor and guat parameters were 15.09%. The microbiological determinations imputed a number of 17 samples, representing 32.07%, and the determination of the physico-chemical parameters revealed a number of 6 samples as inappropriate representing 11.3% of the total samples harvested

The study aims to highlight the positive influence of the European grant instruments developed in Romania. Our country is currently benefiting of the third European Union financial grant for the 2014-2020 period, and the second since its accession to the European Union in 2007. This current one occurs after the successful implementation of the pre-accession SAPARD program between 2000 and 2006 and the first post-accession EAFRD framework during 2007- 2013. The paper follows the course of an agricultural unit in Iasi County which has carried out, since 2012, a number of four investments with the support of the grant projects, the fourth being currently in the final implementation phase. The non-refundable amount of the four investment projects provided by the European Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development is 2,245,396.45 lei, equivalent to 501,775.78 Euro. All the four projects aimed at modernization of the vegetable production farm by purchasing of new and state-of-the art agricultural machinery and equipment. The authors have proposed to elaborate a case study materialized in this paper as a continuation of the previous research of this unit. Initial research tracked the evolution of the unit from the first investment to the end of the third implementation. The implementation of the fourth financing project required further research into the subsequent evolution of the agricultural operator. The unit under study is an example of good practice on terms of attracting the European grants available for farmers and their contribution to the development of the agricultural sector and the rural area in general at the level of the Member States or candidate countries
