The evaluation results of the maize-grain yield cultivated on the Сhernozem Сambic according to the level of fertilization and agrometeorological conditions of the years 2012-2017 are presented. Maize-grain yields obtained from the unfertilized variant (witness) varied from 2.25 t/ha to 6.03 t/ha. Administration of fertilizers on the natural background on average for 5 years led to the increase of maize yields from 3.48 t/ha to 5.47 t/ha, the production crop yield was 27-57%. At phosphorus levels, the crop yield increased from 11 % on the level of 1.5 mg to 25-28 % on the level of 3.0-3.5 mg/100 g of mobile phosphorus in soil versus the background level N120K30 mg/100 of soil. In the P3.5K30 mg/100 of soil (PK) variant, the increase in harvest vs. control was 27%. In nitrogen variant on the PK background in doses of 30-150 kg/ha the increase in maize production was 39-57% compared to the control variant and 12-30% to PK variant. The optimal soil phosphorus level for cambic chernozem in grain maize cultivation was 3.0-3.5 mg/100 g of soil (Machigin method) and the optimal nitrogen doses were 90-120 kg/ha

In the structure of chemical fertilizers, the nitrogenous ones occupy the main place by their contribution in the determination of crop increase, favorably influencing the accumulation of protein substances in maize. The paper presents the results obtained at A.R.D.S. Secuieni in a long-lasting experience with chemical fertilizers at maize crops. The researchers investigated the influence of nitrogen fertilizers on corn crops at A.R.D.S. Secuieni during 2014 – 2016 and had two directions of approach: - the study of the technical efficiency regarding the contribution of nitrogen fertilizers on the obtained yields, the production increase and the marginal increase, in order to optimize the soil - plant system (maximizing the yield and rationalization of the fertilizer); - the study of the economic efficiency of nitrogen fertilizers application (values of production increase, costs, income, profit, profit rate, unit costs) by differential application of fertilizer inputs

The healing properties of honey have been known for hundreds of years, proving its effectiveness, particularly in the wound healing process. Nowadays, a major importance was attributed to honeydew honey, due to its increased polyphenol content, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity. Propolis and thyme essential oil also represent unfailing aids in wounds’ therapy, thanks to their chemical composition. The aim of the present study was to determine the clinical efficacy of a mixture consisting of honeydew honey, propolis extract and thyme essential oil in the treatment of an open chronic wound in a cat patient. The subject of our paperwork was represented by a cat, neutered male, aged one, European breed, weighing four kilograms. According to its medical history, the patient suffered from a traumatic accident by hanging in a wire fence, which resulted in an open wound in the left inguinal area. The cat was brought to ALVET veterinary clinic, because of the following clinical manifestations: apathy, loss of appetite, pain when handling the inguinal area, expressed by both aggressive behavior and vocalization. The clinical exam revealed a laceration wound in the linguinal area, which involved the whole tegument and subcutaneous tissue, while the abdominal wall remained intact. At first attempt, the wound was treated surgically, including pain medication and sedation for proper wound management, without good outcome and therefore, after two weeks we chose a traditional remedy, based on a mixture of honeydew honey, propolis soft extract and thyme essential oil. The dressing was applied once a day, for 25 days and as a result, the wound healed completely without complication and with a very good cosmetic result. We assess that apitherapy should not be simply considered as a ‘folk remedy’, but as a modern therapy, with a large efficacy. This research intends to inform the clinicians about the therapeutic potential of honeydew honey, propolis soft extract and thyme essential oil dressing, when applied on a chronic wound in cat

In order to identify potential genitors for pear breeding, 17 varieties of European and Asian origin were tested for productivity and their response to pear scab (Venturiapirina) and septoria (Septoriapyricola) attack. During two consecutive years, the highest yields of pear trees were recorded for two Romanian varieties, Adria and Napoca. The best response to the pear scab and septoria diseases was recorded within Asian varieties, most of them being registered with a low degree of attack or without symptoms of attack. Some European varieties (i.e.. Doyenné du Comice, Jubileu 50), or interspecific variety Kieffer Seedling, presented also a good response to diseases. The correlation between pear scab and septoria degree of attack statisticallyconfirmed that the susceptible varieties to scab were also sensitive to septoria, and vice versa. The broad-sense heritability coefficients for yield and response to the diseases attack varied depending on the two algorithms used, but the lowest value was registered for the trees’response to the pear scab attack, this trait being more difficult to manage in pear breeding

Prices and pricing are one of key elements of market economy. The important role of prices in economic life is determined by that they are basis of all economic measuring, render considerable influence on expenses and results of activity of all managing subjects: both enterprise structures and housekeeping, and national economy on the whole. Prices determine efficiency of foreign economic activity. In the conditions of market economy commercial success of any enterprise in a great deal depends on the correctly chosen strategy and tactics of pricing on goods and services. A price is an economic category, meaning the sum of money, for that a salesman wants to sell, and a customer is ready to buy a commodity. The cost of certain amount of commodity makes his cost

    Get PDF
Gout represent a metabolic disease that occurs as complication of nephritis and it is caused by the accumulation of uric acid in various tissues, joints and serous. In cage birds the main causes of gout and nephritis are consisting in excessive nutrition with diets containing increased amount of protein and deficiency in vitamins, especially of A vitamin. The most common cases are seen in older budgerigar and nymphs, as well in those water deprived. The aim of this paper consists in showing suggestive clinical symptoms of this pathology that were identified in cage birds submitted to Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Iaşi. Following the physical examination, the main clinical signs were consisting in white-greyish uric acid deposits on leg’s skin, which caused deformation of affected joints. The necropsy and histopathology were performed in order to reveal organic lesions and skin and kidney microscopic lesions, respectively. By histopathology was confirmed the occurrence of intracellular acid uric deposits. In kidneys, lesions of total or partial necrosis of urinary tubes were observed. The skin showed areas of hyperkeratosis with a multitude of keratin fibers. Gout treatment is long-lasting, difficult to apply and with low chances of success, mostly depending on lesions severity and on the moment when bird was presented to physician. It is recommended to rebalance the food diet with the introduction of green food, supplementation with A vitamin and specific medication

Bluetongue is an infectious, non-contagious, vector-transmitted viral disease affecting domestic ruminants (sheep, goats, cattle) and wild (buffaloes, deer, several species of African antelopes and other species of the Artiodactyla order). The economic importance of the disease lies in the important economic losses following the decrease in the productive capacity of the animals, mortality and fetal malformations, immunization costs of the receptive animals, trade restrictions, reduction of the economic recovery price of the receptive animals and products thereof. Our study aimed at identifying by virological examinations the presence and circulation of BLA virus in the SE region of Romania. For viral isolation and identification were used blood samples collected from domestic ruminants in the counties: Galati, Braila, Tulcea and Vrancea. According to the working chart of the BT Diagnostic Manual (LNR Arboviroze Bucharest), the samples collected from suspect animals were processed and tested by RT-PCR. In the period 2015-2016, 517 blood samples with anticoagulant from 282 cattle and 235 sheep suspected of Bluetongue were tested for the identification of the viral genome by RT-PCR technique. There were no suspicions of Bluetongue disease in goats in the counties included in the study. In bovines in the SE of Romania, the viral genome was identified in 171 (60.64%) blood samples with anticoagulant. In sheep in the SE of Romania, the viral genome was identified in 209 (88.93%) blood samples with anticoagulant. Most positive samples confirmed by the detection of the BT viral genome came from Vrancea, both in cattle (161 positive samples) and in sheep (209 positive samples). Because of the pathogenicity, bluetongue virus infection can not be diagnosed for a certain period of time, the period in which the disease may exist and evolve, the infected animals being sources of infection for vectoric culicoid insects

Considerations on the expertise of pumping plants from irrigation systems

    No full text
The paper presented a series of concepts on the technical expertise of irrigation pumping stations. Sprinkling irrigation screens in operation show significant wear and aging phenomena. Any project for the rehabilitation and upgrading of a pumping station is based on technical expertise. It critically analyses the design, construction and operation of structural components and installations serving a pumping station. The technical expertise consists of four components: 1 - Critical analysis of the data on the achievement of the objective; 2 - field research and research on the behaviour of the objective during the exploitation period; 3 - complementary studies and research to define the response situations of the objective to the action of internal and external factors; 4 - the conclusions of the expertise and the directions of rehabilitation and modernization. The expertise for a sprinkler irrigation plot equipped with a pumping and pressure plant (considered a case study) highlighted the complexity of the rehabilitation and modernization process. The rehabilitation process must be carried out in successive stages and by using modern equipment and technologies
