    No full text
The Siberian dwarf hamster is a rodent that is part of the Cricetinae family, having its spreading area in the steppes in northeastern Kazakhstan and northeastern Siberia. The Siberian dwarf hamster is small in size, having a maximum length of 9 cm and a weight of 19-45 g. It has a fine, striped fur, which from winter to summer has different shades. Its diet is omnivorous, being mainly composed of dried seeds and fruits. The Siberian dwarf hamster prefers dark places where they can hide and also love to dig the galleries into the ground. This paper presents the influence of environmental factors on the growth conditions of the Siberian dwarf hamster. Ambient factors are the temperature and humidity of the air, the level of light, but also the cage dimensions in which the bedding inside it also has a very important role

The water and the soil provide in the complex the existence of all living things. Water is necessary for plants for sweating, namely for evaporative adjustment of the leaf temperature regime. Soil humidity loss occurs due to increased evaporation as a result of its compaction under the influence during the work shift agricultural soil aggregates. The territory of the Republic of Moldova is located in the temperate climatic area. Taking into account the concrete values of the humidity coefficient for different climatic zones, we can state that the multi-annual rainfall deficit in the North Zone of the Republic is about 10-30%, in the Center Zone - 30-40% and in the South Zone - 40 50%. Movement of water in the ”soil-plant” system is carried out by the inflow of moisture from the soil through the roots into the plant and the expenditure of moisture by the plants on evaporation into the atmosphere. The speed of motion is determined by the intensity of transpiration, which depends on the intensity of atmospheric conditions. W.R. Gardner (1975) considers the root of a plant as a cylinder of infinite length with the same radius along the entire length and the same ability to absorb moisture, suggesting also that soil moisture can move in the radial direction. As a result, we plotted the changes in the water potential of the soil as a function of the distance from the root, determined the dependencies for finding the potential on the root surface to estimate the influence of the soil potential on the rate of inflow of moisture to the root. Over the past 15 years in the Republic of Moldova, research into the processes of selection of moisture by plant roots in the soil has continued. Developments are aimed at evaluating nonlinear moisture absorption patterns for a number of crops (cotton, wheat, maize, etc.)

Soil represents the result of action taken by various processes determined by environmental factors, continously adapting to natural and/or artificial changes of the environment, recording through certain phenomena, processes and characteristics, the main evolutionary moments. Agricultural land quality is determined by assessment, according to which, in Romania, agricultural land belongs to five quality classes differentiated based on their assessment grades. The assessment study is conducted on various agricultural lands, which should be as homogeneous as possible from the viewpoint of their environmental factors and vegetation factors. In the Răducăneni administrative-territorial unit, the 70 simple soil units and 6 complex soil units identified, belonging to the Protisoils, Cernisoils, Luvisoils, Hydrisoils and Antrisoils classes, were included, depending on their slope and exposure, in elementary land units, which resulted in 171 simple ecologically homogeneous territories and 36 complex ones. Relying on the land quality and productivity assessment grades calculated for the 207 ecologically homogeneous territories, we decided that the surveyed land belonged to the arable use category, i.e. to I, II, III, IV and V quality classes. 50.9% (3372.68 ha) of the total mapped area of 6624 ha belongs to the lower quality classes, namely IV and V, 35.1% (2323.17 ha) to the III quality class and only 14% (928.15 ha) to the higher I and II quality classes

Heat conductivity of some food products: theoretical models and practical measurements

    No full text
Thermo-physical properties are necessary for the design and prediction of heat transfer operation during handling, processing, canning, and distribution of foods. Thermal conductivity is defined as the ability of a material to conduct heat. There are steady-state and transient-state methods for measurement of thermal conductivity. The most commonly used transient methods are the thermal conductivity probe method, transient hot wire method, modified Fitch method, point heat source method, and comparative method. In this paper the modified Fitch method was used in order to measure thermal conductivity; the results were compared with the one predicted by some heat conductivity models: series model, parallel model, the weighted geometric mean method. Experimental tests and calculations were applied to the following food items: dry salami (salam uscat CrisTim); Transylvanian salami (salam ardelenesc); rustic sausage (parizer ţărănesc Caroli). The experimental tests were performed immediately after the products were purchased and then repeated after they were stored for one week, at 6°C. The results show that the series model adequately describes the heat conductivity for dry salami and rustic sausage, while the weighted geometric mean model is more appropriate Transylvanian salami, which has the lowest water content and the highest fat content

This paper presents the population of micro-organisms found in sixsoil samples from Balaciu, Ialomiţa county, Romania, with a certain electrical conductivityand pH.The soil samples were dried, ground, revitalized with peptone water, and thenincubated at 31 °C. The culture media used were: nutrient agar: yeast extract, peptone, agar; YPG agar: yeast extract, peptone, glucose, agar supplemented with chloramphenicol. The soil samples were inoculated in Petri dishesand incubated for 7 days at 35 °C for bacteria and 28 ºC for fungi. After incubation, the number of microorganismswas calculated by the CFUdetermination technique (colony forming units). Also, the electrical conductivity with values less than 4 dS/m andthe pH, whose values exceeded 8, were determined

Considerations on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial vocabulary

    No full text
The aim of the paper is to conceptually define the term entrepreneur and the structural matrix of the entrepreneurial vocabulary. In order to accomplish the goal, it was intended to find the answer at the following questions: i) Which are the reference plans for entrepreneurship? ii) Which are the keywords of entrepreneur's vocabulary? From a methodological point of view, the working paper is based on observations and interviews with entrepreneurs from various fields of activity. The research results indicate two plans for defining an entrepreneur, namely the emotional plan, represented by the entrepreneurial spirit and the rational plan, represented by the socio-economic contract between the individual and the society. From the research it was found that the matrix structure of an entrepreneurial vocabulary comprises the following 7 keywords: 1) purpose; 2) objective; 3) result; 4) cost; 5) production; 6) supply; 7) price. Understanding these concepts is the cornerstone of entrepreneurship as a zero-grade professional alternative to today's society, based on knowledge and information

In this paper was studied areas affected by drought using TCI, VCI and VHI. These indices are based on LST and NDVI. Drought is one of the most widespread and least understood natural phenomena. The droughts are the phenomena which affect large areas and remote sensing data covering large territory can be used to assess the droughts impact and their extent. In this study was used remote sensing images from the Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI), taken in April and May 2018. Study area, for this paper, geographically, is situated on latitude 47°32'N to 46°49'N and longitude 26°36'E to 28°05'E. This administrative unit is hit by heavy rains, floods, droughts and at larger periods of time by landslide events and earthquakes. NDVI values indicates that vegetation has been developed between 21st April and 7th May. LST values was about the same for images analyzed for study area. VHI is usually used to detect areas affected by severe drought. For these Landsat images analyzed was noticed that large areas were not affected by drought. Some zones were affected by moderate and mid drought – about the same for April and May. For these areas were made analysis to determine any connections between drought and altitude, gradient of slopes and exposure of slopes. Areas affected by moderate and mid drought have slope between 00 and 7.50 , mostly between 50 and 7.50 . Zones with slopes over 7.50 affected by drought is insignificant. Exposure of slopes for areas affected by drought is preponderant east and north-east
