    No full text
The researches were organized in 2018-2019 at the Moldoveni Agricultural Society, Neamt County. In the agricultural year 2018, the genotypes experienced did not show a high adaptability to the pedoclimatic conditions of the area, obtaining yields below 1500 kg/ha. Compared to 2018, the yields obtained in 2019 were higher, this was due to the excess of precipitation registered in May of approximately 30 mm. The yields varied between 1297 kg/ha (Teleorman variety) and 1548 kg/ha (Cristian variety). During in the period under study, the highest yield increases (38 kg/ha, respectively 127 kg/ha), compared to the control (average experience) were obtained for the variants sown in the first and second epochs, which results that the castor being favorable for sowing until the second half of April

Cotton (Gossypium L.) is one of the most important commercial crops and it is famous as white gold. Cotton has a diversity of applications, principally medicinal and many other usages, such as pigments, derivatives for cattle feed, different uses of the oil extracts and etc. Cottonseed oil has a ration of 2:1 of polyunsaturated to saturated fatty acids and generally consists of 65-70% unsaturated fatty acids, including 18-24% monounsaturated (oleic) and 42-52% polyunsaturated (linoleic), and 26-35% saturated (palmitic and stearic). The most important health benefits of cotton is treat respiratory diseases, treat skin problems, treat wounds, beneficial for breastfeeding mothers, a good cure for rat bite, an appropriate cure for scorpion bite, for joint and eye pains, for swollen legs, for removing bacteria in teeth, and alternative medicine for various diseases such as cancer, HIV and etc. Cotton seed oil mostly extracted from Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium herbaceum, that are also grown for cotton fiber and animal feed. Gossypol is one of the most effective ingredients, both in traditional pharmaceutical practices and alternative modern medicinal preparations. It is a toxic polyphenolic bisesquiterpene, which may have antifertility and antiviral properties. The obtained findings suggest potential of cotton as a natural resource in pharmaceutical industries

Coconut commodity is still one of the economic back-bone of society, especially Indonesia is currently the largest copra producer in the world. Ruminant productivity in Indonesia is determined by forages availability along the year. Mostly of forage fed to animals is derived from local grasses species which is low quality and contains around 5% of crude protein (CP), lower than ideal protein content on ruminant diet. A kind of tropical grass namely Brachiaria humidicola well adapted under mature coconuts, persist under free grazing as practice by the farmers, drought resistant and good performance as tropical pasture but crude protein content of this grass fluctuated and in some cases was lower than minimum requirement in ruminant diet. Furthermore, carrying capacity of a pasture based on Brachiaria humidicola, in a coconut plantation, could provide only the needs of total digestible nutrient for cattle with body weight not exceeding 250 Kg. Crude protein content could be increased via costly and non-environmental friendly nitrogen fertilizer. Herbaceous legumes species integrated as mixed pasture failed to persist due to aggressiveness of this grass. On the other hand, there are some kind of tree legumes available in Indonesia i.e., Indigofera zollingeriana, highly relished by ruminant. The aims of this research was to study the ability of I. zollingeriana tree legumes to produce leaves as source of protein and dry matter to enhance the carrying capacity of tropical pasture and the productivity of cattle integrated in coconut plantation. The purpose of the results of this research is to be a base line for the next research program to build a model of field ration formulation of integrated forages production under coconuts plantation. This study was conducted in the experimental station of Assessment Institute Agricultural Technology (AIAT) of North Sulawesi, located 12 km from Manado City. This research consists of two experiments separately, from agronomic traits and animal nutrition aspect. Results of this research from agronomic aspect of both forages species grown together on the space of land at planting spacing (PS) of I. zollingeriana 1.5 x 1.5 meter showed dry matter yield higher than others PS treatments. From animal feeds point of view B. humidicola solely could provide dry matter, crude protein and TDN for cattle with body weight 250 Kg, and I. zollingeriana provides crude protein almost double more than the grass species. It means that both species all together in the same field could provide animal feeds for cattle with higher body weight

Parasitofauna and the effectiveness of antiparasitic treatment at deer with various types of stress reactivity

    No full text
So, the determination of the type of stress reactivity at deer by applying the adrenaline test formulated by Ahmadiev GM (1990), allows to select deer resistant to infestation with various parasitic agents and to obtain a higher effectiveness of antiparasitic treatment in stress-resistant deer compared to stress-reactive.Therefore, we recommend selecting deer according to the type of stress reactivity and obtaining flocks of stress-resistant animals, which have a high resistance to parasite infestation with a high therapeutic efficacy and with minimal deworming costs. So, before applying antiparasitic treatment to deer, it is necessary to establish their type of stress reactivity, and to the stress r eactive to apply repeated treatment over 14 days, because its effectiveness is varied and depends on the type of reactivity of the animal’s organism

In addition to the 25 species of harmful insects, of economic importance for the maize crops identified in Romania, of which, the corn leaf weevil (Tanymecus dilaticollis) and wireworms (Agriotes spp.) are very dangerous soil pests, it is added species Diabrotica virgifera virgifera Le Conte. The species was identified in Europe in 1992, and in 1996 it spread to Romania. The spreding area of the pest was initially restricted in the south-west and west, in the counties of Arad, Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți, Dolj, Hunedoara, then gradually spread to all areas of maize cultivation. In the eastern part of the country, respectively in thearea of influence of the A.R.D.S. Secuieni (Neamț, Bacău and North Vrancea counties area) the insect was reported in 2015, the flight intensity, abundance and frequency of attack increased from year to year, which imposed as a necessity the monitoring of the species and the way of attack. The species Diabrotica virgifera virgifera Le Conte causes damage to maize crops both in the larval stage and in the adult stage. Oligophagous larvae feed on the roots of several species of grasses, except sorghum, which they gnaw, cut off, the strongly attacked plants have the slanted stem in the form of a swan's neck, the plants dry prematurely, production losses being 10 - 13%, sometimes higher, up to 55%. Adults are polyphagous, but especially feed on the leaves, silk and corn pollen, but also on the grains at the top of the cobs. The attack reported on the corn leaves is similar to that of the species Lema menalopa. Observations and determinations on the appearance and flight of adults were made using yellow glue traps, which have been installed in maize crops since the beginnig of June. The first adults were registered in the first decade of July, the flight continued without interruption until the end of September. During this period July - September, the adults made a single flight curve, the maximum flight peak was recorded in the second decade of August and totaled an average of 470 specimens / trap / decade. Knowing the abundance of Diabrotica virgifera virgifera Le Conte in agricultural crops in Central Moldova, it is necessary to continue the research on knowledge of bioecology, factors influencing the emergence, evolution and attack, measures to prevent and control the pest

Instant noodles and the accompanying seasonings have gained popularity because of its convenience and affordability among young population in most country of the World. In this study the microbial quality (bacteria and fungi) of three different brands of noodles (designated as A, B and C) with their accompanying seasonings commonly marketed and consumed in Romania were investigated. The samples were serially diluted and poured in Petri plates. One gram of each brand of noodles and seasonings was aseptically transferred into 9 ml of sterile distilled water. Potato dextrose agar (PDA) in different compositions (classic, with streptomycin and rose-bengal stain) were the media used in this research. The least microbial load was obtained by heating samples at 100°C for 10 min. Sample B had the highest bacterial count of 16×103 cfu/g for cold noodles, and also the highest count of 6.6×103 cfu/g for hot noodles. For the seasonings, the total bacterial count varied from 6.6×103 cfu/g (sample A) to 33×103 cfu/g (sample B). The total fungal count of all samples was slightly higher than that of the bacterial counts. Microbial analysis showed the presence of Gram negative bacteria as predominant bacteria type (e.g. Pseudomonas spp), while Aspergillus, Rhizopus, Penicillum were the three isolated genera of fungi. Penicillum was the most frequently isolated genera of fungi in case of all brands of noodles

The Prekos F1 tomato hybrid was used. The experience included 5 variants in 4 replications. The experimental variants were the following: V1. Signum 0.15 +Cabrio Top 0.2%; V2. Ortiva Top 0.1% + Switch 0.1%; V3. Cidely Top 0.1% + Prolectus 0.12%; V4. Dagonis 0.1% + Teldor 0.08%; V5. Untreated control. The pathogens present in the tomato crop were Alternaria solani (early blight), Botrytis cinerea (grey mold) and Fulvia fulva (leaf mold). The efficacy of the products combinations was assessed according with the average degree of attack and the obtained yield, which was processed by the variance analysis method

The Modulation of Oxytocin and Cortisol Levels in Major Depression Disorder and Irritable Bowel Syndrome

    No full text
There is a progressive trend in the current literature in understanding the central effects of oxytocin, which besides its classical roles in parturition and lactation, seems to exert some facilitatory effects in most of the neuropsychiatric disorders. Thus, it seems that oxytocin is mainly linked to the neuropsychiatric disorders where the social component is more or less affected and it has also strong correlations with the stress-related mechanisms and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. In addition, the connections between oxytocin and the digestive system were previously suggested, including by some of our preliminary results, in the context of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) pathology. Also, the relations between depression and stress in the context of cortisol implications are quite well described, although various modifications of cortisol (increased, decreased or non-modified) were described in the major depression pathology. Thus, by using two research cohorts: one with major depression disorder (n = 15) and another one having both diagnosis of major depression disorder and irritable bowel syndrome in the same time (n = 15), we are showing in this report significantly increased levels of cortisol in patients with MDD and IBS, when compared with patients with MDD without IBS, while an opposite pattern was obtained by measuring the plasma level of oxytocin, where the patients with MDD and IBS had a significantly decreased concentration of oxytocin, as compared with those with MDD but without IBS
