A partir de uma perspetiva transdisciplinar, examina-se como as opiniões do notável jurista, frequentemente dissidentes, contribuíram de maneira significativapara a consolidação e o avanço desse campo jurídico.Ao longo da sua trajetória no TEDH, Paulo Pinto de Albuquerque ampliou sig -nificativamente o escopo de proteção dos direitos humanos na Europa e fora dela, moldando a compreensão contemporânea do direito antidiscriminatório. Reconhe-cido como um dos juristas mais inovadores da sua geração, o eminente juiz proferiucerca de dez mil decisões no TEDH1, muitas das quais se tornaram pilares para a interpretação e aplicação da Convenção Europeia dos Direitos Humanos e seus Protocolos Adicionais. The Special Issue "Empowering Sustainability: The Role of Digital Transformation in Green Business Development" aims to explore the intersection between advanced digital technologies and sustainable business practices. This issue focuses on identifying innovative digital strategies that drive eco-efficient and resilient business models while contributing to broader sustainability goals. The scope encompasses topics including, but not limited to, the integration of digital tools in sustainability measurement, monitoring and reporting, development of green IT infrastructures, smart manufacturing, data analytics for environmental management, and digital policy frameworks supporting green innovation.
The Special Issue aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary research that bridges technological innovation with sustainable development, fostering new insights into how digital transformation can empower businesses to achieve a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy. By engaging with existing literature, this issue will supplement and extend the current understanding of digital impacts on sustainability, mainly through empirical analyses and case studies. It further relates to socio-economic, scientific, and policy dimensions, offering practical frameworks and policy recommendations. Brasil x Portugal: a pandemia da covid-19 e os impactos na seara trabalhista
Get PDFNo presente trabalho buscou-se revelar, a partir de uma análise comparativa, as diferenças de atuação dos governos do Brasil e Portugal quanto aos impactos de suas medidas na seara trabalhista. Em tal contexto, a pandemia da Covid-19 provocou o fechamento de empresas e negócios, bem como a perda de empregos, todavia os trabalhadores que tiveram seus empregos mantidos também foram impactados, assim como foram atingidos por legislações trabalhistas temporárias que possuíram vigência na pandemia, mas que não podem atingir direitos constitucionalmente assegurados. Dessa forma, comparativamente, fez-se uma análise sobre os principais reflexos e resultados das políticas trabalhistas implementadas para a economia do Brasil e Portugal, bem como, sob o argumento da excepcionalidade do cenário de pandemia, se houve desrespeito aos direitos trabalhistas no Brasil e em Portugal. Por derradeiro, foram utilizadas a metodologia bibliográfica e jurisprudencial, além do método hipotético-dedutivo.This paper seeks to reveal, through a comparative analysis, the differences in the actions of the governments of Brazil and Portugal regarding the impacts of their measures in the labour area. In this context, the Covid-19 pandemic caused the closure of companies and businesses, as well as the loss of jobs, but the workers who kept their jobs were also impacted, as well as affected by temporary labor laws that were in force during the pandemic, but that cannot affect constitutionally guaranteed rights. This way, a comparative analysis was made about the main reflexes and results of the labor policies implemented for the economy of Brazil and Portugal, as well as, under the argument of the exceptionality of the pandemic scenario, if there was disrespect to the labor rights in Brazil and Portugal. Finally, the bibliographic and jurisprudential methodology was used, in addition to the hypothetical-deductive method
Paisagem do vinho e enoturismo. O enoturismo como estratégia de valorização territorial em Miranda do Douro
Get PDFA diversidade do território português favorece a singularidade das paisagens
vitivinícolas, que aliam características culturais e patrimoniais únicas à produção de
vinhos de elevada qualidade. O enoturismo surge como uma oportunidade estratégica
para o desenvolvimento rural e valorização do Planalto Mirandês, sub-região de Trásos-
Montes. Esta pesquisa pretende responder de que forma o enoturismo pode
contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável do território, promovendo a coesão e a
valorização do património natural e cultural do Planalto Mirandês. A metodologia
utilizada para atingir os objetivos propostos inclui uma revisão integrativa da literatura,
aplicação de inquéritos e entrevistas e um focus group, abordando dinâmicas culturais
e socioeconómicas. No caso específico da região do Planalto Mirandês, os resultados
da pesquisa apontam para um cenário promissor, destacando o enoturismo como uma
atividade com grande potencial para impulsionar o desenvolvimento local e regional. No
entanto, o aproveitamento desse potencial enfrenta desafios significativos, incluindo a
falta de incentivos adequados, a forte concorrência regional e nacional, os impactos das
mudanças climáticas, a carência de mão-de-obra e o baixo investimento em publicidade
e divulgação estratégica. Entre as limitações desta pesquisa, destaca-se a dificuldade
em obter entrevistas com alguns agentes locais e aplicar questionários a uma amostra
diversificada de visitantes e residentes.The diversity of Portuguese territory favours the uniqueness of wine-growing
landscapes, which combine unique cultural and heritage characteristics with the
production of high-quality wines. Wine tourism is a strategic opportunity for rural
development and the valorisation of the Planalto Mirandês, a sub-region of Trás-os-
Montes. This research seeks to answer how wine tourism can contribute to the
sustainable development of the territory, promoting cohesion and enhancing the natural
and cultural heritage of the Planalto Mirandês. The methodology used to achieve the
proposed objectives includes an integrative literature review, the application of surveys
and interviews and a focus group, addressing cultural and socio-economic dynamics. In
the specific case of the Planalto Mirandês region, the results of the research point to a
promising scenario, highlighting wine tourism as an activity with great potential to boost
local and regional development. However, harnessing these potential faces significant
challenges, including a lack of adequate incentives, strong regional and national
competition, the impacts of climate change, a shortage of labour and low investment in
publicity and strategic dissemination. The limitations of this research include the difficulty
in obtaining interviews with some local agents and applying questionnaires to a diverse
sample of visitors and residents

Occupational Safety and Injury Risk in Professional Football: The Portuguese Framework in Comparative Perspective
No full textProfessional football players face considerable occupational hazards, with injuries posing serious challenges to player safety, club performance, and regulatory oversight. This descriptive study examines the multifaceted implications of Portugal’s Laws No. 48/2023, which formally recognises professional football as a high-risk occupation and strengthens the mandatory insurance regime through a major regulatory update. Adopting a qualitative approach, the analysis focuses on Portugal, where the professional football business model heavily relies on player commercialisation, and compares regulatory frameworks in Spain, Germany, England, Italy, France, and Brazil. Findings indicate that Portugal’s legal framework enhances player safety by ensuring comprehensive coverage and improved disability protections, yet also introduces financial pressures on clubs, particularly those with lower economic capacity. These pressures are exacerbated by limited market competition and high insurance concentration, increasing premium costs. Cross-country comparisons reveal persistent disparities in legal standards, insurance scope, and institutional coordination, which complicate risk allocation in an increasingly globalised football market. Notably, Portugal’s high-risk insurance model most closely aligns with France’s hybrid approach, in contrast to fully public schemes seen in countries like Germany and Italy. While complete harmonisation remains challenging, the study identifies key principles to guide policy reform and international cooperation. Overall, the findings advance understanding of occupational risk regulation in sport and offer practical insights for designing effective, equitable, and safety-oriented protection systems for professional athletes

Revitalizing the Estrada do Paraibuna: Exploring sustainable and regenerative Tourism dynamics
No full textCultural heritage reflects accumulated memories, generational practices, and esthetic and cultural ideologies that shape identities. The inherent diversity and uniqueness of these identities define heritage elements, which, however, remain fragile, non-renewable, irreplaceable, and vulnerable. In regions affected by the significant devastation caused by contemporary socio-economic activities, policies often neglect the intrinsic historical and heritage value(s). The historical landscapes with tourism potential that experience decline, degradation, and destruction need even more protection and policies to aid their regeneration and preservation. This study seeks to develop a comprehensive framework for preserving a highly endangered historical road, along with its invaluable monuments and cultural landscapes, as a means to stimulate regional revitalization. The methodological approach relies on observation, field work, and semi-structured interviews to provide a comprehensive historical overview of the Estrada do Paraibuna (Paraibuna Road). This region has suffered significant degradation of its historical and natural assets as a result of intensive resource exploitation. This study underscores the heritage elements with strong tourism potential along the route between Ouro Preto and Barbacena, while underlining the critical need to combat landscape degradation. This study pursues to create a shared vision rooted in promoting sustainable practices that leverage natural and cultural resources, safeguard local culture, and encourage community collaboration in regenerative efforts
