    No full text
The main objective of this study was to assess the effect of resource management on performance of selected international compassion projects in Rwanda while the following are specific objectives: to assess the effect of resource planning on performance of International Compassion projects in Kinyinya Parish, Rwanda, to assess the effect of resource scheduling on performance of International Compassion projects in Kinyinya Parish, Rwanda, to assess the effect of resource allocation on performance of International Compassion projects in Kinyinya Parish, Rwanda, and to assess the effect of resource monitoring on performance of International Compassion projects in Kinyinya Parish. The stratified sample of 132 individuals, using Yamane’s formula, is expected to be used and was selected among 197 staffs engaged in projects financed by International Compassion in ADPR where all parishes of Gasabo were considered The SPSS Version 23 was used to perform the analysis while the questionnaire was used as the main tool for data collection.  The study revealed that a mixed survey design, being both descriptive and correlative, was used in this study where this study involved gathering and analyzing data to describe the current state of resource management and correlate it with the project performance within compassion projects, in Gasabo district. The findings on model summary indicate R-value of 0.407 indicates a moderate positive correlation between the combined predictors (Resource monitoring, Resource allocation, and Resource scheduling) and project performance (Performance of Projects). However, the relatively low R Square value of 0.166 suggests that only approximately 16.6% of the variability in project performance can be explained by these predictors, with a substantial portion of variability remaining unaccounted for. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) results demonstrating the statistical significance of the regression model, encompassing the predictors "Report monitoring, Resource allocation, Resource planning, and Resource scheduling," in explaining variations in the dependent variable "Performance of Projects". Importantly, the associated p-value (Sig.) of 0.002 (denoted as "b") falls below the conventional significance threshold of 0.05, indicating the model's statistical significance. Therefore, it was recommended, encourage continuous improvement in resource planning adequacy to minimize restructuring needs. The Politics of Illegal Immigration: Critical Evaluation of the Contemporary Political Perspectives and Influence on Regional Security in the West

    No full text
Illegal immigration is a global challenge that affects countries' social, economic, and security dynamics due to individuals crossing borders without proper authorization in search of better opportunities or refuge. In the West, illegal immigration has sparked debates over border control, national security, and the treatment of undocumented individuals, with millions living in legal limbo. However, there is a limited understanding of the politics surrounding illegal immigration based on evaluating contemporary political perspectives and their influence on regional security in the West. This paper critically evaluates contemporary political perspectives on illegal immigration and its influence on regional security in the West. Utilizing a literature-based approach, this study synthesizes key political theories, policy analyses, and security assessments to explore how illegal immigration is framed within the Western political discourse. This research highlights the intersection of immigration policies with national security concerns, revealing how political rhetoric often shapes public perceptions and policy responses. By analyzing various scholarly sources, this article uncovers the complexities of immigration debates, including the tension between humanitarian considerations and security imperatives. These findings suggest that the politicization of illegal immigration has significant implications for regional stability and international relations. The study contributes to a broader understanding of how political narratives around illegal immigration influence security strategies and policymaking in Western countries. Recommendations for practice, policy, and further research are provided and justified. Keywords: Illegal Immigration, Political Perspectives, Regional Security, Western Politics, United States

An Empirical Analysis of the Moderating Effect of Organizational Context on the Relationship between Leadership Process and Effectiveness of Freight Forwarding Firms in Nairobi City County, Kenya

    No full text
Highly competitive and fast shifting market conditions require business enterprises to possess superior organizational capabilities for success. Previous studies have identified persistent challenges including leadership processes and complex work environments as constraints to organizational success. The freight forwarding sector in Kenya grapples with challenges related to high operational costs, poor co-ordination, and rapid developments in information technology and related insecurity. Literature on organizational leadership has neither addressed nor empirically tested the dimensions of gauging effectiveness of freight forwarding firms. Specifically, there is lack of empirical investigation linking organizational context with leadership process and effectiveness of freight forwarding firms. This study sought to investigate the moderating effect of organizational context on the relationship between leadership process (tactical, strategic, and situational influence) and effectiveness of freight forwarding firms in Nairobi City County, Kenya. Through a mixed methods approach, the study adopted explanatory sequential design anchored on the Balanced Score Card model, Institutional Theory and Structuralism Theory. Target population was 400 freight forwarding firms practicing in Nairobi City County, from which 276 respondents were selected through stratified random sampling. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaires with a response rate of 84% while qualitative data was collected from 10 key informants through in-depth interviews. Descriptive statistics used were frequencies, means and standard deviation, while regression analysis was used to test the study hypotheses. Qualitative data was subjected to thematic analysis. Results established that organizational context has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between leadership process and firm effectiveness. With leadership process viewed through input > processing > output logic, the external environment provides streams of opportunities in terms of inputs, which firms can harness to create competitive advantage and effectiveness. Findings demonstrated the link between leadership process, organizational context, and effectiveness. Management should entrench effective leadership process through active deployment of appropriate influence strategies to generate key capabilities and conducive work contexts. Government policies should promote collaborative approaches among supply chain partners. The study recommends future research to expand the conceptual, methodological, and contextual scope for more representative conclusions. This study investigated the mediating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between innovative leadership and performance of Pentecostal churches in Kenya. Grounded in Schein's Model of Organizational Culture, the research employed a cross-sectional survey design, sampling 331 senior pastoral staff from 4,279 registered Pentecostal churches. Data collected through structured questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics and stepwise regression. Results revealed a significant partial mediating effect of organizational culture (R²=0.659, F=208.974, p<0.05). Innovative leadership directly influenced performance (β=0.587, p<0.05) and organizational culture (β=0.635, p=0.025), while organizational culture significantly affected performance (β=0.647, p<0.05). In the final model, both innovative leadership (β=0.381, p<0.05) and organizational culture (β=0.349, p<0.05) remained significant predictors of performance, with organizational culture partially mediating the relationship. The study concluded that organizational culture plays a crucial role in translating innovative leadership into enhanced church performance. Recommendations include developing comprehensive policies to strengthen organizational cultures that support innovative leadership and improve church performance, establishing regular cultural assessments, and implementing training programs emphasizing the importance of organizational culture in achieving church objectives. No full text
The purpose of this research was to examine the impact of environmentally conscious measures implemented by hotels, along with their digital marketing strategies through social media platforms, in influencing the decision-making process of Generation Z when selecting environmentally friendly hotels. Despite significant global study on sustainability and digital engagement on consumer choices, there is little focus on how these factors affect the hospitality industry in developing countries like Bangladesh.  Data were gathered from a sample of 335 generation Z consumers who provided feedback on their experiences with the hotels. 310 respondents were chosen for analysis, assessed by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The study revealed that the adoption of sustainable management practices has a beneficial impact on Generation Z's preference towards hotels that are environmentally friendly. Social media platforms play an essential part in promoting these practices. Effective promotion of green activities through social media by hotels leads to enhanced reputation and customer retention. The study concludes that sustainable management practices and effective use of social media significantly influence Generation Z's preferences for environmentally friendly hotels, fostering brand loyalty and competitive advantage in the hospitality industry. The practical implications in this research explained that if hotels in Bangladesh applied sustainable management practices into their marketing strategies, they could attract environmentally conscious Generation Z consumers and distinguish themselves in a competitive market, thus promoting long-term loyalty and enhancing brand image through social media. Hotels should leverage social media platforms to actively communicate their sustainability efforts, engaging customers through real-time updates, influencer partnerships, and user-generated content. They should also ensure eco-friendly products and services remain affordable to broaden their appeal while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental conservation. Furthermore, hotels should emphasize transparency and accountability in their sustainability practices to build trust and foster deeper connections with Generation Z consumers.
