Get PDF本論文は、フランシス・ベーコンの『学問の進歩について（De Augmentis Scientiarum）』の第4書において、人に関する科学の欠陥と問題点の改善が記載されている第1章および医学の欠陥と問題点が指摘されている第2章を吟味することにより、『生と死の自然誌（The History of Life and Death）』の「現代の世代と未来の世代への挨拶」においてベーコンが表明している高位の医師への期待と要望、すなわち考えを幾らか高くすること、時間のすべてを
通常の治癒に捧げないこと、必要ゆえにのみ尊ばれないこと、の意味を明らかにすることであった。
ベーコンの高位の医師への期待と要望の内容は、以下の3つのポイントに集約される。一つは、医学がきわめて高貴な学術であることを認識し、最も多種多様な複合物である人の身体は、容易に調子が狂う絶妙なできばえの楽器であると理解して、心とその情念が身体の状態および性向を変更する作用を心身一元論に基づいて探求すること。二つは、人の自然を含む自然の解釈者として、論難ではなく、技能的な実践を、論難で打ち勝つことではなく、人の協働の実践により、全能の神が善意において許可する限りにおいて、人の自然を含むに自然に立ち向かうことを指揮する者であること。三つは、人は、遠距離から対象を見下すことを常としており、しかも希望を捨てないでいっそうの回復力をつける必要があることから、治療者が病気の治癒に成功すると称賛し、失敗すると正当な医師であっても非難するので、対処するにはあまりに多くの悲しく腹立たしい物事ゆえに医師は、通常の医学以外の学術に、慰めのために心を引きこもらせるのではなく、学術は連続していることから、その学術において賢明になろうと探求の骨折りをすること。
ベーコンの高位の医師への期待と要望は、彼の死後400 年経とうとする現代にあっても医師の心に十分に響く内容を有しているように思われる。departmental bulletin pape
Effects of childrenʼs daily experiences on state self-esteem and motivation
Get PDFThis study aimed to determine the effects of childrenʼs daily experiences on their state selfesteem and motivation. Parents and their children answered questionnaires regarding childrenʼs experiences on the day the questionnaires were administered. Positive daily experiences included being praised and achievements, and negative experiences included being scolded and failures. Additionally, the questionnaire assessed childrenʼs state self-esteem and motivation. The results indicated a positive correlation between positive daily experiences and state selfesteem. However, no significant correlation was indicated between daily negative experiences and state self-esteem. Regarding motivation, the results of factor analysis indicated three aspects: susceptibility to external effects, difficulty in beginning and continuing an activity, and positivity in performing an activity. Similar to state self-esteem, a positive correlation was indicated
between positive daily experiences and motivation, as children with more positive experiences showed greater positivity.departmental bulletin pape
