Background This study analysed changes in the experience of negative emotions and feelings of loneliness in older adults in elderly care facilities. Although the physiological needs of older adults are optimally met in these facilities, their psychosocial needs remain unmet. The study’s main objective was to evaluate the short-term effectiveness of an original educational Activation-Socialisation Intervention Programme on positive and negative emotional states as well as feelings of loneliness. Participants and procedure The programme included 40 activities divided into three concepts. The research sample consisted of 41 older adults from a specific facility in Slovakia (33 in the experimental group and 8 in the control group). The experimental group participated in the intervention for four weeks, while the control group did not participate in any activities. Data were collected at two time points: at baseline and immediately after the intervention. It included the Scale of Emotional Habitual Subjective Well-being (SEHP) supplemented with the loneliness variable. The Reflection Questionnaire was administered at the end of the intervention. Results The results indicated a statistically significant effect of the programme on rates of experiencing negative emotional states, positive emotional states, and feelings of loneliness in the experimental group. The results of the control group support the effectiveness of the intervention. Conclusions The intervention programme proved effective in influencing negative and positive emotions and loneliness in the short term. Participants evaluated the programme positively and noted improvements at the social-psychological, educational and cultural levels. Background This study analysed changes in the experience of negative emotions and feelings of loneliness in older adults in elderly care facilities. Background College students frequently encounter academic and nonacademic stressors, making them highly vulnerable to mental health problems. Among various protective factors, mindfulness and self-compassion are recognized for their roles in enhancing emotional well-being. Meanwhile, the family environment plays a significant role in shaping these intrapersonal capacities. This study investigated both the direct and indirect effects in the relationship between perceived family functioning, mindfulness, and selfcompassion among Indonesian college students. Participants and procedure A total of 278 students (17-29 years old) from 15 Indonesian universities completed online self-report questionnaires. Standardized instruments were used to measure family functioning (FAM-III), mindfulness (MAAS), and self-compassion (SCS). Mediation analysis was conducted using Jamovi with 5,000 bootstrap samples. Results The results revealed that higher family dysfunction was significantly associated with lower mindfulness (β = –.47, p < .001) and self-compassion (β = –.25, p < .001), while mindfulness positively correlated with self-compassion (β = .38, p < .001). Mediation analysis confirmed that mindfulness partially mediated the negative relationship between family dysfunction and self-compassion (indirect effect: β = –.18, p < .001), accounting for 42.1% of the total effect (total effect: β = –.43, p < .001). Conclusions The findings highlight the influence of familial relational quality on students’ psychological resources and underscore mindfulness as a psychological mechanism linking family functioning to self-compassion. This study suggests that mindfulness-based interventions could enhance selfcompassion, especially for students from dysfunctional families. Background College students frequently encounter academic and nonacademic stressors, making them highly vulnerable to mental health problems. The subject of the text is the presentation of ways of talking about people from minorities discriminated against on the basis of origin, sexual orientation or religion. The “mirror” in which these examples can be seen, indicated and organized is, among others, film art, which – as if “through a lens” – reveals strategies of arguing with “hate speech”. The aim of the text is to answer the question: is it possible to counteract homophobia in social communication (linguistic level) through artistic communication? The initial hypothesis assumes that art may prove to be a language that, in a sophisticated way, based on the principle of soft power, can be a good tool for counteracting verbal aggression against minority groups. The research material is the Polish feature film All Our Fears (2021) directed by Łukasz Ronduda, Łukasz Gutt, inspired by the work of the visual artist – Daniel Rycharski (born 1986) and his work Cross, which was presented at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw in 2017 as part of the exhibition: Late Polishness. Methodology: quantitative research of language in the world presented in the film and use of the Hatespeech tool to detect hate speech in texts on the Clarin.pl platform.

The author examines the phenomenon of hate speech as a reaction to apparent marketing and PR efforts by corporations to go green, support the LGBTQ+ community, victims of war and oppose the aggressor. The aim is to understand how greenwashing, rainbow washing and warwashing lead to negative social reactions, including hejt, and what consequences they have for brands and communities. The study is based on the analysis of three cases (case studies) illustrating different types of washing, and each case evaluates the actual actions of companies and their public perception. The results of the analysis show that apparent endorsement often results in heckling and negative consumer reaction, leading to a weakened brand image and loss of public trust. The article emphasises the importance of transparency and honesty in brand communication, pointing out that inconsistent practices can damage both the reputation of companies and negatively affect the communities to which companies address their activities.W tekście dokonano analizy zjawiska hejtu jako reakcji na pozorne działania marketingowe i PR-owe korporacji w zakresie ekologii, wsparcia społeczności LGBTQ+, ofiar wojny oraz sprzeciwu wobec agresora. Wyniki analizy pokazują, że pozorne poparcie często skutkuje hejtem i negatywną reakcją konsumentów, prowadząc do osłabienia wizerunku marki i utraty zaufania społecznego.

The aim of this article is to present the multidimensional interactivity of the reportages Pretty and Obedient and Life After Life Reportage from Mariusz Szczygieł’s collection Nie ma (There Is No). The essence of interactivity lies in the attribution of meaning and the mutual influence between the stimuli of the sender and the receiver, the author and the reader. It should be noted that, in the context of the interactivity we discuss, the first reportage acted as a stimulus that triggered various interactions, while the second was the author’s reflection summarizing these reactions. In this article, we argue – using the example of these reportages – that reportage, as a journalistic genre, through its interactivity, immersiveness, and affectivity, can engage readers emotionally to such an extent that it not only has the potential to create networks of relationships among readers themselves and between readers and the author but also motivates them to take action. &nbsp

    Pytanie o formułę współczesnego materializmu

    Get PDF
Materialism, at every stage of its intellectual maturation, must decide whether it wants to be a strictly objectivist materialism without a knowing subject, or, conversely, a materialism that postulates the existence of the subject as a necessary position enabling the (self-)knowledge of matter. Materialism is forced to constantly navigate between the fatalism of negative affects liberated by a vision of the world dominated by the spirit of futility, and the euphoria of vitalism, which believes in matter in constant motion and indestructible development. The materialist must decide whether to be a "vulgar materialist" and a naive realist who accepts the world as it appears to us in perception, or whether to choose a transcendental and critical option that examines the conditions of knowledge rather than dogmatic knowledge about the state of matter. The question of materialism is therefore a question of how to avoid the temptation of being a dogmatic materialist. In this text, I address a key dilemma that divides contemporary materialists, who either choose a strictly realist option, believing in the existence of matter without a knowing subject (Quentin Meillassoux), or a vitalist or constructivist option, subjectivizing or vitalizing matter ab origine (Gilles Deleuze). I also attempt to establish the status of contemporary materialisms that go beyond constructivism and transcendentalism. This primarily concerns surrealist materialism (Meillassoux), Thomas Nail's kinetic materialism, and Karen Barad's agential realism. None of these options seem satisfactory because they absolutize certain properties of matter – contingency, entanglement, and motion. In opposition to these materialisms, I propose a procedure of deabsolutization. Deabsolutized materialism finds a place for the concept of construction in reality itself. Chodzi tu głównie o materializm surrealistyczny (Meillassoux), materializm kinetyczny Thomasa Naila i realizm agenturalny Karen Barad. W kontrze do tych materializmów proponuję procedurę de-absolutyzacji. Materializm zdeabsolutyzowany odnajduje miejsce dla pojęcia konstrukcji w samej rzeczywistości.&nbsp

Konstytucyjne wolności i prawa człowieka i obywatela – analiza zagrożeń

The political practice during the eighth and ninth terms of the Polish Sejm constituted a serious threat to the constitutional system of freedoms and human rights. The identity of the Constitution is seen as an element of a European identity. What were the characteristics of the violations of the Constitution? How, in those circumstances, did basic guarantees of individual freedoms and rights function?

In the glossed judgment issued in the case of Cupial v. Poland, the ECHR referred to the guidelines that should be met by a carefully prepared justification of the judgment. In cases in which the court decides on the rights and freedoms of an individual, the justification of the decision loses its exclusively formal character. The court sets limits on the exercise of human rights in a specific situation, and, therefore, in fact, determines their content. The court should therefore comprehensively explain all the reasons for the decision, so that it cannot be accused of arbitrarily violating not only the right to a fair trial but also other human rights safeguarded by judicial power. The ECHR found that the allegations made by the applicant before the domestic courts concerned the substance of the criminal case against him. They therefore required a specific and unambiguous assessment, which was not made by the court of first instance. The court of the second instance did this in a fragmentary way, without referring to the main objection regarding the general context of the case. The justification of the judgment is intended not only to answer the question about the legal basis of the decision, but above all to explain why the court made a particular decision. It is intended to be a reflection of the thought and decision-making process culminating in the preparation of the operative part of the judgment.W glosowanym wyroku wydanym w sprawie Cupiał przeciwko Polsce ETPCz nawiązał do wytycznych, którym powinno odpowiadać rzetelnie sporządzone uzasadnienie wyroku.
