Fenómenos y sistemas simpoiéticos: naturaleza y gráfica (de campo expandido): Los estados intermedios de la materialidad en la obra de Tracy Hill, Enrique Leal y Pia Gazzola
Our perception of the environment originates from the subjective reaction of the individual to the material and conceptual tensions within its elements. By understanding physical phenomena as autonomous events, we can propose the figure of the artist as a translator or interpreter of reality. This paper examines how three contemporary artists offer a sensitive reading of natural phenomena such as light, water, sound, time, and climate. Using various methodologies, they capture the intermediate states of matter and its inherent behaviors, occasionally drawing upon scientific processes and explanations. In this sense, the selected artists draw from empirical explanations of reality to create a poetic cohesion with the natural world.
The works and artistic practices analyzed in this study belong to Tracy Hill, Pia Gazzola, and Enrique Leal. The technical and artistic analysis of these pieces reveals how the effects of climate and time on matter enter into a process of co-creation with the artist. Phenomena are treated as free entities interconnected with each other and the subject, leading to the concept of sympoiesis (Haraway, 2016), which views matter as a communal subject. This study uses the methodological, formal, and conceptual associations between the selected works and sympoietic systems to explore the possible interpretation and relationship between expanded graphic art and collectively generated systems. Moving beyond the scientific notion underlying sympoiesis, these works appeal to the sensitive dimension of reality, showcasing its intrinsic interconnectivity and interdisciplinarity.
Through a somaesthetic (Shusterman, 2012) approach and sensory interpretation of the world via these pieces, this study challenges the authorship of the creative process and reevaluates the act of “creation.” The analysis demonstrates how these works operate in the intermediate space between a referent and its process of capture, employing the concept of trace or record, which is highly prevalent in graphic art.
In conclusion, the transfer of information between the conceptual and physical dimensions through uncontrolled processes gives prominence to matter and its transformation. The creative process becomes the shaper of meaning, allowing us to experience everyday ephemerality and enhancing our plastic perception of the environment within the context of expanded field graphic art.Nuestra percepción del entorno se origina en la reacción subjetiva del individuo ante las tensiones matéricas y conceptuales de sus elementos. Entendiendo los fenómenos físicos como eventos autónomos, podemos proponer la figura del artista como traductor o intérprete de la realidad. En este escrito, se analiza cómo tres artistas contemporáneos proponen una lectura sensible de los fenómenos naturales como la luz, el agua, el sonido, el tiempo y el clima. Utilizando diferentes metodologías, captan los estados intermedios de la materia y sus comportamientos innatos, aprovechando en ocasiones procesos y explicaciones científicas. En ese sentido, los tres artistas seleccionados beben de las explicaciones empíricas de la realidad para producir una poética de cohesión con el medio natural.
Las obras y prácticas artísticas descritas en el estudio pertenecen a Tracy Hill, Pia Gazzola y Enrique Leal. En el análisis artístico-técnico de las piezas se observa cómo los efectos del clima y el tiempo sobre la materia entran en un proceso de cocreación con el artista. Los fenómenos son tratados como entes libres, interconectados entre sí y con el sujeto; esto nos lleva al concepto de simpoiesis (Haraway, 2016) que comprende la conformación de la materia como un sujeto comunitario. En este estudio vamos a valernos de las asociaciones metodológicas, formales y conceptuales entre las obras elegidas y los mencionados sistemas simpoiéticos para introducir la posible interpretación y relación entre el arte gráfico expandido y los sistemas generados colectivamente. Trascendiendo los límites de la noción científica que reside tras ese concepto (simpoiesis) nos acercamos a obras que apelan a la dimensión sensible de la realidad para mostrarnos su interconectividad e interdisciplinariedad intrínseca.
Mediante una aproximación a la somaestética (Shusterman, 2012) y la interpretación sensorial del mundo a través de estas piezas, se pasa a cuestionar la autoría del proceso creativo y se pretende reevaluar la comprensión del acto de crear. El análisis de las obras muestra cómo se mueven en el espacio intermedio, entre un referente y su proceso de captación, empleando el concepto de huella o registro, altamente presente en el arte gráfico.
En conclusión, el trasvase de información entre las dimensiones conceptual y física, mediante procesos no controlados, dota de protagonismo a la materia y su transformación. El proceso creativo/creador se convierte en el conformador del significado, permitiéndonos experimentar la efimerabilidad cotidiana y potenciando nuestra percepción plástica del entorno, en el contexto de la gráfica de campo expandido
Study on novel vaccines and adjuvants for rabbit infectious diseases
Epidemic diseases have seriously damaged the development of the global rabbit industry. Vaccination plays a vital role in improving the health and welfare of livestock and preventing animal-tohuman transmission, thereby constituting a major public health strategy. There is continued demand for effective and safe adjuvants capable of enhancing antigen-specific responses to a target pathogen of rabbits. Pathogens such as Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus type 2 (RHDV2), Pasteurella multocida and Eimeria sp. coccidia are lethal and highly contagious for rabbits worldwide. Scientists have been working on screening for immunogenic proteins and designing adjuvant systems for safer and more effective vaccines against these highly prevalent pathogens. With the rapid development of genetic engineering technology and biotechnology, recombinant vaccines, genetic engineering vector vaccines, nucleic acid vaccines and other new vaccines have gradually been developed. Novel adjuvants such as new oil adjuvants, herbal medicine adjuvants, cytokine adjuvants, nano-adjuvants and polysaccharide adjuvants have been applied in the new vaccines to enhance their immunogenicity of new vaccines. Researchers are committed to developing new vaccines with broad spectrum and high efficiency. This review will briefly overview the current research on vaccines and adjuvants against viral, bacterial and parasitic pathogens prevalent in rabbits
Revolución femenina en Pixar: La Influencia de Domee Shi y Turning Red en la Representación de Género y Diversidad en la Animación
This article analyzes Turning Red (Domee Shi, 2022), directed by Domee Shi, as a paradigmatic case in the evolution of gender and diversity representation at Pixar Animation Studios. Through a qualitative methodology that includes literature review, textual and visual analysis, and case study, the narrative and symbolic elements of the film are examined. Mei's transformation into a giant red panda is explored as a metaphor for puberty, highlighting the struggle for self-acceptance. Additionally, the influence of anime on the film's visual style and narrative is evaluated. The findings emphasize how Turning Red and Shi's direction have set new standards for inclusion and diversity, reflecting a significant shift in the animation industry towards greater gender equity and cultural representation.El artículo analiza Turning Red (Domee Shi, 2022), dirigida por Domee Shi, como un caso paradigmático en la evolución de la representación de género y diversidad en Pixar Animation Studios. A través de una metodología cualitativa que incluye revisión de literatura, análisis textual y visual, y estudio de caso, se examinan los elementos narrativos y simbólicos de la película. La transformación de Mei en un panda rojo gigante se explora como una metáfora de la pubertad, destacando la lucha por la autoaceptación. Además, se evalúa la influencia del anime en el estilo visual y la narrativa. Los resultados subrayan cómo Turning Red y la dirección de Shi han establecido nuevos estándares de inclusión y diversidad, reflejando un cambio significativo en la industria de la animación hacia una mayor equidad de género y representación cultural
On the topology of topological fundamental groupoids
This paper is devoted to the Lasso and the Whisker topology of the fundamental groupoid. We prove that topological fundamental groupoid of a given space X is locally path connected in general and is path connected if X is simply connected. We show that for locally path connected space X, the unit map 1 : X → π X is an embedding if and only if X is a semilocally simply connected space. Also, we give conditions that guarantee Hausdorffness of the topological fundamental groupoid.
Totally bounded ultrametric spaces generated by labeled rays
We will say that a tree T is almost a ray if T is the union of a ray and a finite tree. Let l be a non-degenerate labeling of the vertex set V of almost a ray T and let dI be the corresponding ultrametric on V. It is shown that the ultrametric space (V, dI ) is totally bounded iff this space contains an infinite totally bounded subspace. We also prove that the last property characterizes the almost rays

This essay is part of the inaugural conference for ex±acto - VI edition of the International Congress of Research in Visual Arts - 2024 where I presented the research film project Utopias and Dystopias in Modernity: Extended Non-Places and Placeless (2021-2024), which investigates the asymmetries that govern between the North Pole and the South Pole, linked to processes of extractivism of raw materials, global warming and how this affects local and fluctuating populations.Este ensayo hace parte de la conferencia inaugural para ex±acto - VI edición del Congreso Internacional de Investigación en Artes Visuales – 2024 donde presenté el proyecto fílmico de investigación Utopías y Distopías en la Modernidad: Los no lugares extendidos y los sin lugar (2021- 2024), en el que se investiga las asimetrías que rigen entre el Polo Norte y Polo Sur, vinculadas a procesos de extractivismos de materias primas, calentamiento global y cómo esto afecta a las poblaciones locales y fluctuantes.

In this paper, we build upon our previous studies by redefining fundamental concepts and transferring them from rings of continuous functions to rings of continuous functions with countable images. This article will focus on regular good spaces (``"RG-spaces", for short) and related concepts. Specifically, we introduce and examine two generalizations of RG-spaces, calling countably regular good spaces and strongly countably regular good spaces.
