Get PDFThe restoration of the Pirelli Skyscraper—necessitated after a notorious plane crash in 2002—became a key example of architectural intervention in modern architecture with heritage status. Even two decades after its completion, the process stands out for extraordinary research and analysis efforts—involving studying existing documentation, observing and measuring spaces, materials, and construction techniques. This ongoing investigation reaffirms that essentiality, as thought by Gio Ponti, remains a fundamental principle of architectural design until today. The intervention strategies of Corvino+Multari, accompanied by a technical and scientific team, have breathed life into Ponti’s masterpiece while stimulating a broader reflection on approaches to complex architectural monuments. Engaging critically with its architecture, the project positions itself between restoration and intervention, both philological in its approach and contemporary in spirit. The meticulous restoration of the curtain wall, fixtures, and mosaic tesserae exemplifies this.El proyecto de restauración de la Torre Pirelli, emprendido a raíz del trágico accidente aéreo de 2002, representa un caso singular de restauración del patrimonio moderno. A veinte años vista de su realización, se puede afirmar que ha sido un proceso que ha representado un exhaustivo trabajo de investigación y estudio de la documentación existente, así como de observación y medición de los espacios, materiales y técnicas constructivas. Este esfuerzo ha revelado que la esencia mostrada por Gio Ponti en la construcción de este excepcional complejo sigue siendo una respuesta fundamental en el ámbito del proyecto arquitectónico. Las estrategias de intervención del estudio Corvino+Multari, respaldadas por el comité técnico-científico, han asegurado una nueva vida a la obra maestra de Gio Ponti y han alimentado una reflexión activa sobre la manera de intervenir en un monumento de esta complejidad. Como respuesta a esta arquitectura, el proyecto se presenta como una propuesta ambivalente entre la restauración filológica y la intervención contemporánea, como demuestra la cuidadosa recuperación de los muros cortina, las instalaciones y las teselas de los mosaicos

This comprehensive approach encompasses not only iconic monuments but also urban fabrics, although vernacular architecture remains significantly undervalued. This underscores the imperative to integrate monumental and traditional architecture into a cohesive strategy for preserving urban heritage. In the educational context, heritage is recognised as a powerful pedagogical resource for fostering identity formation. However, despite notable legislative and methodological progress, a limited perspective persists—one that often overlooks the importance of arts education. This omission undermines a holistic educational approach, which, aligned with global guidelines on sustainability and social development, such as the 2030 Agenda (UN), seeks to actively involve students in the appreciation and conservation of heritage.El patrimonio arquitectónico ha adquirido una creciente relevancia como testimonio cultural y expresión de la identidad colectiva. Su rehabilitación y reutilización representan una oportunidad única para preservar su valor, incluyendo tanto monumentos icónicos como tejidos urbanos. Sin embargo, la arquitectura vernácula continúa siendo subestimada, lo que evidencia la necesidad de articular la protección del legado urbano con un enfoque que también incluya la arquitectura humilde tradicional. En el ámbito educativo, el patrimonio se presenta como un recurso pedagógico eficaz para construir identidad. Pese a los avances legislativos y metodológicos, persiste una visión limitada que continúa descuidando algo tan esencial para la formación integral como es la educación artística, cuando ésta resulta fundamental para alinear la enseñanza con directrices globales como la Agenda 2030 (ONU) y promover la sostenibilidad, el desarrollo social y la implicación del alumnado en la valoración y conservación del patrimonio

Get PDFThere is a way of arranging things that attracts us. We sense that they lead to a good place. They arise from the experimentation that we carry out unconsciously, by bringing together those that we find essential with others that distort or impede the proper development of the space. This is not seen a priori, nor do we consider it a very precise technique. They are tentative, but we know that if we use what we want to keep, even if it is only as a memory, it will allow us to create and imagine a better reality.
The difference between physical and emotional well-being lies in these things. We are moved by the need we have to incorporate the space that surrounds us. That depth of field in which they appear and are situated is part of our work. The everyday, their ritual, reminds us of this, but also the nature that accompanies it.Existe una forma de disponer las cosas que nos atrae. Intuimos que llevan a un buen lugar. Surgen de la experimentación que hacemos de manera inconsciente, al poner en relación aquellas que encontramos imprescindibles con otras que distorsionan o impiden el desarrollo adecuado del espacio. Esto no se ve a priori y tampoco la consideramos una técnica muy precisa. Son tentativas, pero sabemos que, si utilizamos aquello que queremos mantener, aunque ya sólo sea memoria, nos permitirá hacer e imaginar una realidad mejor.
La diferencia entre el bienestar físico y el emocional está en esas cosas. Nos mueve la necesidad que tenemos de incorporar el espacio que nos envuelve. Esa profundidad de campo en la que aparecen y se sitúan forma parte de nuestro trabajo. Lo cotidiano, su ritual, nos lo recuerda, pero también la naturaleza que lo acompaña.

No full textAn aggressive built environment. An elongated, flat plot, perpendicular to the beach. Limited views from the bedroom, but views from the communal and circulation spaces are possible. The landscaped central courtyard and the pathways around it respond to this situation, with their ends as more visible and transparent points that provide glimpses of the interior: the reception providing access from the road and the social club to the beach, along the Way of St James to Fisterra. On this side, the plot is minimally conditioned as a sandy area with native vegetation, typical of these soils that are still beach. Entorno agresivo en lo construido. Parcela alargada y llana, perpendicular a la playa. Escasas posibilidades de mirar desde la habitación, pero si desde los espacios comunes y de circulación. El patio central ajardinado y los recorridos en torno a él responden a esta situación, con sus extremos como cabezas más visibles y transparentes que dejan ver su interior: la recepción dando al acceso desde la carretera y el local social, a la playa, por donde pasa el Camino de Santiago a Fisterra. En este lado, la parcela se acondiciona mínimamente como arenal con vegetación autóctona, propia de estos suelos que aún son playa.

No full textA small building for the equally small community of neighbours in the village. Elderly people and a few families enjoy a privileged location due to its position in the landscape, at a certain height above sea level. There is no shop, church or services. Few people work there but they need a place to meet. A space that identifies them. To give classes, for leisure, for parties. They have to do the minimum, without much extension or impact. To do this they chose the steepest part of a residual piece of land between the houses. It's a way of telling us that any decision made in the village is a challenge. But it is very well oriented and has excellent views over the estuary. Un pequeño edificio para la también pequeña comunidad de vecinos de la aldea. Personas mayores y unas pocas familias disfrutan de un lugar privilegiado por su posición en el paisaje, a cierta altura sobre el nivel del mar. No hay comercio, ni iglesia ni servicios. Pocos trabajan allí mismo pero necesitan un lugar dónde reunirse. Un espacio que los identifique. Dar clases, ocio, fiestas. Hay que hacer lo mínimo, sin mucha extensión ni impacto. Para ello escogen la parte con mayor pendiente de un terreno residual entre las casas. Es una forma de decirnos que cualquier decisión tomada en la aldea es un reto. Pero está muy bien orientado y tiene excelentes vistas sobre la ría

This study focuses on the challenges facing Greek agriculture, such as lack of state support and societal complexities. It aims to understand why interest in farming is declining in Greece by integrating insights from European legislation, socio-economic measures, and immigration dynamics. Through a survey of 1,009 respondents, factors such as unstable weather, challenging work conditions, and limited career prospects were identified as deterrents. The study highlights disparities among different groups and emphasizes the need for nuanced policy interventions to revitalize the sector and address worker grievances.El sector agrícola europeo enfrenta desafíos como el declive rural y las disparidades socioeconómicas. Este estudio analiza la falta de apoyo estatal y las complejidades sociales que afectan a la agricultura griega. Mediante una encuesta a 1.009 personas, se identificaron como factores disuasorios la inestabilidad climática, las duras condiciones laborales y las escasas perspectivas profesionales. El análisis integra legislación europea, medidas socioeconómicas y dinámica migratoria. Los resultados destacan disparidades entre grupos sociales y subrayan la necesidad de políticas específicas para revitalizar el sector y responder a las preocupaciones de los trabajadores
Estrategias y resistencia de las artes gráficas en tiempos de sobrecarga y fugacidad visual
Get PDFThe increasingly accelerated pace of life and the hyper abundance of stimuli that surround us directly affect our relationship with images and their interpretation. Based on art’s need for a gaze that is different from the one that is used to not digesting visual information, this article discusses the capacity of contemporary art to continue to capture our interest and attention in a situation of loss of sensitivity to the image. Questions are raised about the direction of cu-rrent and future art, considering it as a tool ca-pable of enriching and expanding our reality as it is established. Specifically, we discuss what artistic resources in the plastic arts confront this scenario of a crisis of visuality, paying spe-cial attention to the graphic arts, and without first reviewing the artistic strategies of pop art and minimal art in the 1960s, which already res-ponded to similar problems of visuality after the emergence of the mass media.El ritmo de vida cada vez más acelerado y la hi-per abundancia de estímulos que nos rodean afectan directamente a nuestra relación con las imágenes y su interpretación. A partir de la ne-cesidad del arte de una mirada distinta a aquella acostumbrada a no digerir la información visual, en este artículo se discute sobre la capacidad del arte contemporáneo para seguir captando nuestro interés y atención en una situación de pérdida de sensibilidad ante la imagen. Se plan-tean preguntas en torno al rumbo del arte actual y futuro, considerándolo como una herramienta capaz de enriquecer y ampliar nuestra realidad tal como está establecida. Se discuten especí-ficamente qué recursos artísticos en las artes plásticas hacen frente a este escenario de crisis de visualidad, prestando especial atención a las artes gráficas, y sin antes revisar las estrategias artísticas del arte pop y el minimal en los años 60 que ya respondieron a problemáticas simila-res sobre la visualidad tras el surgimiento de los mass media

Get PDFWith this text, it is intended to make a record, significance and valuation of assets of cultural interest present in the General Cemetery of Valencia, as an input or means to subsequently formulate conservation proposals and preservation strategies for its HERITAGE. The text consists of presenting Information, Situation and Valuation with a brief description of the property, contexts of valuation and presentation of results that account for Conservation and Preservation proposals, for these mausoleums or pantheons of historical value, not only architectural since many of them contemplate almost all the so-called Fine Arts. They stand out as a representative architecture of the late 19th century, which reflects a historical, political and social period, which translates into a high value for Culture. They are, in short, a significant manifestation of the life, customs and social reality of the inhabitants of Valencia in the last years of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.Con este texto, se pretende hacer un registro, significación y valoración de bienes de interés cultural presentes en el Cementerio General de Valencia, como insumo o medio para formular a posteriori propuestas de conservación y estrategias de preservación de su Patrimonio. El texto consiste en presentar Información, Situación y Valoración con la descripción somera del bien, contextos de valoración y presentación de resultados que dan cuenta de propuestas de Conservación y Preservación, para estos mausoleos o panteones de valor histórico, no solo arquitectónico pues muchos de ellos contemplan casi todas las denominadas Bellas Artes. Destacan como una arquitectura representativa de finales del siglo xix, que refleja un periodo histórico, político y social, lo que se traduce en un alto valor para la Cultura. Blockchain implementation in supply chains: adoption barriers and transparency outcomes in Ogun State, Nigeria
Get PDFThe modern supply chain management now incorporates blockchain technology which delivers revolutionary developments for supply chain transparency effectiveness and tracking. This research examines the effects blockchain technology brings to supply chain systems especially for the Nigerian market. The researchers conducted a mixed-method survey study with 150 supply chain professionals from Ogun State. Functions and providers have recognized blockchain applications as substantial potential for procurement and logistics management and inventory management but have not fully implemented them yet. A majority of survey respondents removed traceability (65.3%) and transparency (75.3%) as positive outcomes that correspond with international studies. The surveyed professionals experience ongoing difficulties regarding expense of implementation (70%) and shortage of qualified personnel (80%). Technical combinations between blockchain technology and both IoT and AI systems show evidence of enhancing organizational operational capacities while strengthening system defenses. Survey participants predict blockchain adoption to develop within the upcoming 2-3 years by 34.7%. The findings suggest that blockchain adoption will speed up through proper regulatory guidelines and specific training programs as well as accessible implementation procedures. The research contributes toward revealing blockchain adoption drivers and barriers and provides Nigerian industries with practical advice and specifies future research directions. Developing economies can use blockchain as their principal supply chain transformation framework when they fix present obstacles and match international technological developments
Presiones antropogénicas en la Fisicoquímica del Socioecosistema Lagunar de Nuxco, Guerrero, México
Get PDFThe present study evaluated the physicochemical state of the Nuxco Lagoon, Guerrero, Mexico, and its relationship with surrounding anthropogenic activities (agriculture, livestock and urbanization). Five samples were collected monthly over one year at a depth of 15-30 cm. Five parameters were measured in situ and seven in the laboratory. The lagoon is classified as polluted based on Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) data. Furthermore, High concentrations of nutrients, such as Ammoniacal Nitrogen (0.63 mg/L), Nitrates (0.15 mg/L), and Nitrites (21.64 mg/L), were detected, exceeding the maximum permissible limits of Agreement CE-CCA-001/89. This suggests contamination due to wastewater discharges, runoff of fertilizers and pesticides used in agriculture, as well as livestock and aquaculture activities. The physicochemical dynamics of Nuxco Lagoon are significantly influenced by various anthropogenic factors, highlighting the need for integrated management strategiesEl presente estudio evaluó el estado fisicoquímico de la Laguna de Nuxco, Guerrero, México, y su relación con actividades antropogénicas circundantes (agropecuarias y urbanización). Se colectaron cinco muestras mensualmente durante un año, a una profundidad de 15-30 cm. Se determinaron 5 parámetros in situ y 7 en laboratorio. La laguna es catalogada como contaminada basado en los datos de la Demanda Bioquímica de Oxígeno (DBO5) y Demanda Química de Oxígeno (DQO). Asimismo, se encontró una alta concentración de nutrientes como Nitrógeno amoniacal (0.63 mg/L), Nitratos (0.15 mg/L) y Nitritos (21.64 mg/L), los cuales rebasan los límites máximos permisibles del Acuerdo CE-CCA-001/89, lo que sugiere contaminación debido a la descarga de aguas residuales, el arrastre de plaguicidas y fertilizantes utilizados en la agricultura, así como por actividades de ganadería y acuacultura. La Laguna de Nuxco tiene una dinámica en su fisicoquímica influenciada significativamente por diversos factores antropogénicos, lo que sugiere la necesidad de estrategias de manejo integral
