The Description of Nature in the Works of the Travel Genre: The Case of Karakalpak Writers
The subject of research in this work is the genre of travel in Karakalpak Literature. It analyzes the works of the travel genre of individual Karakalpak writers who have visited abroad in various years. The research material was the poetic collection of the national poet of Karakalpakstan, Hero of Uzbekistan Ibrayim Yusupov Evenings of Distant Malaysia, Caucasus, and travel notes of the Karakalpak writer and scientist Kamal Mambetov Travel, which includes several sections: Travel to India, Hello, Sri Lanka, Shores of the Black Sea of the Caucasus, In the Native Nogai Region, and The ancestral homeland Turkestan. The travel diaries of Karakalpak writers Gulaisha Esemuratova’s American Impressions and Zubaida Ishmanova’s Travel through Europe are also touched upon. Along with the above-mentioned works, the travel notes of the Karakalpak scientist Tazhen Izimbetov Travel to Five Countries across the Ocean and the Karakalpak poet Maten Seitniyazov Travel to Seven Countries are studied. In particular, the author notes that with the motive of the road in literary travels, a special place is occupied by the description of nature and terrain. In her work, the researcher emphasizes the author’s position and subjectivity in travel works in transmitting unknown information to readers. At the same time, in literary travels, the motive of the road occupies a central place, since on the way a person learns about himself, better understands his country, his people and his spiritual roots. The relevance and scientific novelty of the work lie in the insufficient study of the genre of travel in the Karakalpak literature and the author’s attempt to study the issue. The author considers the motive of the hero’s journey in comparison with the motive of return
The article deals with Arabic words in the Turkish language, through the blog approved in the study, which is the book intended for teaching the Turkish language to non-native speakers. Therefore, the research problem will be to track the frequency of Turkish words, which are of Arabic origin, in the book Teaching the Turkish Language to non-native speakers. It aims to explain the influence and impact between the two languages, on the one hand, and on the other hand, to encourage Arabic speakers to learn the Turkish language. We took a descriptive and statistical approach and also tracked the changes that occurred in Arabic words when they were transferred to Turkish. We found that some words do not change, some change phonetically, some change semantically, some words change letters, and so on, as we described on our research blog and presented a semiotic reading at the beginning of the book. We also compared Arabic and Turkish letters and counted the letters of both language
Monster or Hero: A Post-Apocalyptic View in Richard Matheson’s I am Legend
Human beings are surviving creatures. They will do whatever it takes to survive. However, as much as they are hell-bent on surviving, humans are also strangely fascinated with the concept of the apocalypse—that the world hosting us will one day cease to exist. This strange fascination with the apocalypse goes way back in history when ancient civilizations expressed their remarkable views regarding the apocalypse. People’s fascination with the apocalypse was also reflected in their literature. Taking Richard Matheson’s novel I am Legend as a scope of the study, this paper delves into the philosophical underpinning aspects of the post-apocalyptic genre. It analyses the author’s portrayal of the post-disaster world. Furthermore, it goes beyond I am Legend to explore the feasibility and the internal consistency of various post-apocalyptic scenarios in literature, prompting broader understanding and reflection on the anxieties and aspirations that fuel these narratives, examining themes of societal collapse, the fight for survival, the reconstruction of civilization, and the search for meaning in a devastated world. The present article aims to shed light on Matheson’s scenario on the apocalypse, which significantly draws the reader’s attention bearing in mind the COVID-19 scenario. So, to what extent does Matheson’s apocalyptic scenario relate to our world today
Globalization Authority: Fragmentation of Self and Disturbance of Religious Identity from Distortion to Extremism in Amin Ben Batta’s “Overdrive”
Globalization stands as a pivotal reality deeply ingrained within diverse ideologies, exerting significant influence across political, social, and cultural dimensions. Central to its impact is the concept of religion, pivotal for its role in reshaping societal identity structures. This study seeks to investigate the implications and consequences of globalization on the religious landscape, employing a descriptive-analytical approach to the novel Overdrive by Amin Ben Battha. The research critically examines the narratives of Jewish and Christian believers before and after the alteration of sacred texts, explores the proliferation of discourses centered on violence, extremism, and the rejection of moderation within Muslim communities, and ultimately considers globalization’s objective of eroding religious distinctiveness in favor of a unified global identity ideology. Furthermore, the study critiques the condemnation of unfettered public freedoms by transforming monotheism into a mere ideological belief.Haut du formulair
Evidence of Conceptual Crisis in the Scientific Discourse of Material Civilization in Quantum Physics
This paper aims to investigate the evidence of the conceptual crisis in the deterministic material scientific discourse after the emergence of quantum physics. The paper examines the common concepts among all sciences and specialities, which are: the part, the whole, the structure, objectivity, causality, phenomenon, and cumulative knowledge. To extract its cognitive implications which are reflected on the premises of studying all dimensions of existence, including biological and social, in a way that necessitates their reorganization according to the data resulting from experiments in quantum physics. We have concluded that the evidence of conceptual crisis has shown distortions in the meanings adopted by the basic conceptual system in the deterministic material scientific discourse, demonstrating that we cannot understand the apparent if we view it as deterministic structural relationships in which the parts integrate to form the unified whole that can be fragmented into components for understanding the whole. The apparent relationships do not provide us with complete information about the overall system in which they operate. Therefore, unified systems are not studied except as informational systems (wave function), where their pairs cannot be separated because they intertwine and integrate completely into the whole and emerge as a whole with their unique imprint. Thus, it presented an alternative unified vision of the relationship of the self with the object, where they intertwine harmoniously, giving each its unique imprint without canceling each other out. It expanded the concept of causality to include its possibilities in various directions. It did not nullify it, but rather gave it a broader and wider significance through its unified implications, thus refuting the concept of cumulative knowledge in a gradual sequential time
Exploring Scientific Jargon: Diverse Translation Theories for Conveying Computer Scientific Terms into Arabic
Translating computer scientific terms into Arabic represents a challenge that necessitates not only linguistic expertise but also a nuanced understanding of both source and target languages. Despite the increasing demand for accurate scientific translation in Arabic-speaking communities, the process is far from being simple. This study embarks on an exploration of scientific translation with a particular focus on computer scientific terms. It aims to identify the challenges encountered by translators and check if the application of translation theories is practical for creating new terms in Arabic. The study is significant as it addresses the pressing need for accurate scientific translation into Arabic language which contributes to the enhancement of communication and knowledge dissemination. An examination of various translation strategies helped to uncover the applicability of translation theories in this context. By scrutinizing the linguistic nuances, we seek to unravel the complexities inherent in translating computer scientific terms into Arabic. Findings not only shed light on the practical application of translation theories but also underscore the importance of context and domain-specific knowledge in achieving accurate and sensitive translations. Ultimately, this study contributes to the broader discourse on scientific translation by offering recommendations for enhancing the precision and fluency of computer scientific translation into Arabic, thereby facilitating the seamless exchange of knowledge across linguistic boundaries
Planetary Water and Oceanic Discourse: Blue Humanities as a New Cultural Turn
The historicization and theorization of human involvement with water led to the development of “water-centric thinking” which provides fresh perspectives to deal with oceanic geographies. This kind of cultural turn from land to sea enhanced the emergence of a new disciplinary realm called the Blue Humanities. The scrutiny of the sea in relation to contemporary Western culture transformed the utilitarian notion to an aesthetic perspective in connection with the sea. The designation of a new cultural status to the sea has been depicted by attributing oceanic images and metaphors. The paper discusses the environmental issues.Blue Humanities rejects the practice of anthropocentrism or unnecessary human intervention as a threat to the environment. The historian, Ellen Krefting has rightly observed; “Our oceans are radically changing due to human impact. It is our goal to show how knowledge about the sea is produced” (Blue Humanities, 2022). The study makes use of Material Ecocritical theory and qualitative research through analysis and contributions made by Blue Humanities Scholars. Steve Mentz, Dan Brayton, and Hester Blum advocated the need to use the ocean as a powerful lens to shift from watery metaphors to the ocean. Literature, Cultural Studies, andHistory are critically analysed at length to examine ecological ethics in posthuman critical moments. The paper highlights the fact that human commitment to nature is at stake and needs to be rectified at the earliest
The Fences and Tissues in Counter-Representation: How to Suckle from the Wolf Without Biting You by Amara Lakhous as a Case Study
.Our research paper seeks to investigate how the fences of representation work and expose the savage wolf latent in the Western man, by investigating the tissues of the narrative that resist it in prolonging cultural racism and calling for a humane cultural equation, so the novel How to Suckle from the Wolf Without Biting you by Amara Lakhous along with intellectual studies was a legitimate defense mechanism to limit the forms of domination and end the myth of representation and guardianship, we chose the cultural critical approach as a mechanism to investigate the Western cultural patterns and how they work In the worlds of truth/reality and fiction/narrative, by posing questions related to the question of the ego and the fate of the self, and at the same time they are questions that reread the other in terms of exposing its arguments centered on this self, which seeks through its counter-cultural discourse to smash these arguments, hence it is an issue that tries to extrapolate how these implicit cultural fences that surround the boundaries of the counter-cultural representational discourse appear, to see how far this discourse was able to weave an argument condemning this biased, racist cultural representation
A study of “Womanhood” as Symbols to Further Colonial, Nationalist, and Religious Communal Agendas in the Indian subcontinent
This study delves into the historical exploitation of women as symbols to advance colonial, nationalist, and religious communal agendas, particularly focusing on the Indian subcontinent. Through an analysis of various events, including the British response to widow immolation, the Bengal Renaissance, and the aftermath of the Partition of India, the study highlights how women’s plight was manipulated to serve broader political goals. Drawing from sources such as Tanika Sarkar’s Rebels, Wives, Saints and Urvashi Butalia’s The Other Side of Silence, the study underscores the dual nature of women’s victimization: first by patriarchal structures and then by the instrumentalization of their suffering to bolster ideological narratives. It argues that despite purported humanitarian concerns, women’s agency and well-being were often overlooked, with their experiences reduced to mere symbols in the pursuit of power and national identity. This study aims to shed light on the complex intersections of gender, politics, and power dynamics in historical contexts. Examining the instrumentalization of women’s suffering for political ends prompts reflection on the ethical implications of using marginalized groups as symbols to promote ostensibly progressive agendas
Deciphering the Ontology of Racial Cultural Politics in Black Super Heroes Comic Narratives
The origin of the superheroes genre in popular graphic narratives medium provides a new hindsight to the genre of children’s literature. However, with the introduction of black racial politics in the superheroes genre there arose a cultural shift to the conception of superheroes with the advent of DC and Marvel comic book universes black superheroes gained a popular place in the new comic books medium which provided spaces for creativity critique as a celebration in resulting in new ways of understanding the world and their place within it. Besides it reflects how black superheroes struggle to maintain their own racial and cultural identity against the white(imperialist) capitalist policy of assimilation and marginalizatio
