Subsidise fruits and vegetables to encourage healthy and sustainable diets
Many families buy too little fruits and vegetables because market imperfections drive up their prices. With disturbed supply chains and rising inflation, imperfections become more pronounced, forcing many to choose less healthy alternatives. We propose a subsidy on fruits and vegetables financed through a progressive tax and show that it would strongly push diets in the right direction.
Nitrogen is becoming less available in ecosystems around the world
Nitrogen is an essential nutrient for plants and is necessary for making proteins. We gathered a diverse set of published records measuring nitrogen availability throughout history (since the 1700s) in different areas of the world. Our research suggests that humans are changing ecosystems in ways making nitrogen less available to plants and the creatures that eat them

The earliest ecosystems we know of were built entirely by microscopic lifeforms. Similar ecosystems that exist today help us understand the history of life on our planet. We set out to investigate their sensitivity to sea level change, but the occurrence of an extreme hurricane redirected our study and illustrated how climate change outcomes can impact life in surprising ways

Publication of the Stela Cairo 30/8/64/2 erected by Nectanebo I in honour of the divine couple of Pharbaitos, Hormerty and Hathor. The relief of the round-topped stela shows the king offering the sign of the field to Hormerty, followed by Hathor. It is the only post-Saitic example of a donation stela whether from Pharbaitos, or for being dedicated to its principal god, Hormerty.Publication de la stèle Caire 30/8/64/2 érigée par Nectanébo Ier en l’honneur du couple divin de Pharbaïtos, Hormerty et Hathor. Faraway galaxies are hard to detect, not only because they appear fainter, but also because the light that we detect from them is infrared. Many of these objects were invisible to us until the James Webb Space Telescope was launched. With this new telescope, scientists discovered 33 new galaxies in the early universe.
