Solidarity in collapse: Theological reflections on the climate movement
No full textAutoritäre Dynamiken, die Corona-Pandemie, Kriege und die Erderhitzung lassen die Zuversicht auf notwendige Veränderungen hinsichtlich solidarischer Lebensverhältnisse schwinden. In der Klimagerechtigkeitsbewegung vermehren sich Stimmen, die diese gesellschaftliche Situation als „Kollapse“ interpretieren. Ihre strategische Frage ist nicht mehr, wie sich die Erderhitzung aufhalten lässt, sondern wie solidarische Beziehungen in Kollapssituationen wirken können. Im folgenden Beitrag stelle ich den Gehalt der klimaaktivistischen Problemstellung für die Begriffsbildung der Neuen Politischen Theologie heraus. Ziel ist die Konturierung einer Theologie solidarischer Beziehungsweisen, die auf die Bewohnbarkeit der Erde zielt, und sich kritisch von einer apokalyptischen Zuspitzung der Neuen Politischen Theologie abhebt.Authoritarian dynamics, the coronavirus pandemic, wars and global warming are diminishing confidence in necessary changes in terms of living conditions based on solidarity. In the climate justice movement, voices that interpret this social situation as a “collapse” are increasing. Their strategic question is no longer how global warming can be stopped, but how solidary relationships can work in collapse situations. In the following article, I highlight the content of the climate activist problem for the conceptualization of the New Political Theology. The aim is to outline a theology of solidary relationships that aims at the habitability of the earth and critically distinguishes itself from an apocalyptic accentuation of the New Political Theology

Colour Reflections: A study of colour in cinema using the example of Bong Joon-ho‘s Parasite
No full textIn this text I seek to connect the perception (aisthesis) of colour as a phenomenon of our
mind with the design (aesthetics) of colour in cinema. In a methodological excursus, I
relate the complexity of the formal-aesthetic device ‘colour’ to a taxonomy of film research
developed by myself, which I call the KinematoGramm. The model of the KinematoGramm
constitutes the starting point of an extensive publication project and is presented here for
discussion for the first time in English in combination with an analysis of the lighting and
colour dramaturgy as well as the visual aesthetics of Parasite.
Parasite is a 2019 film by South Korean director Bong Jong-ho which was not only
internationally acclaimed but also won four Academy Awards in 2020 (Best Film, Best
International Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay). Based on the carefully created, nuanced
green-primed colour palette of Jong-ho’s socio-critical parable, the intermingling of two
incompatible milieus unfolds as a differential quality of colours, textures, and materials.

Il «concilio» di Gerusalemme, le tensioni ecclesiali e l’opera dello Spirito
No full textThe Jerusalem Assembly (A.D. 49/50) was the Church’s first Spirit-prompted attempt to resolve disputes that had arisen regarding the evangelization of the Gentiles. Despite the letter sent by the Jerusalem assembly to the Christian communities, the conflicts escalated. Therefore, Paul did his best, in the face of strong opposition in the Church, to spread that decision taken in common. It was precisely Paul’s letters, in which the Church would later identify the inspiration of the Spirit, that gave rise to a new wave of tensions, caused by heretical misrepresentations of the concept of justification by faith alone. Such misunderstandings were clarified by the Letter of James, which, recognized as inspired, pointed to the saving efficacy of faith expressed in works of charity. Thus, for the NT, the Spirit propels the Church toward ll truth, not simply in spite of tensions, but often through them.L’assemblea di Gerusalemme (49/50 d.C.) fu il primo tentativo della Chiesa, suscitato dallo Spirito, di risolvere le controversie sorte a riguardo dell’evangelizzazione dei pagani. Nonostante la lettera inviata dall’assemblea gerosolimitana alle comunità cristiane, gli scontri si accentuarono. Perciò, Paolo si prodigò, tra forti opposizioni ecclesiali, a diffondere quella decisione comune. Furono proprio le lettere di Paolo, in cui poi la Chiesa avrebbe individuato l’ispirazione dello Spirito, che diede adito a una nuova ondata di tensioni, causate da travisamenti ereticali del concetto della giustificazione in virtù della sola fede. Tali equivoci furono chiariti dalla Lettera di Giacomo, che, riconosciuta come ispirata, puntualizzò l’efficacia salvifica della fede espressa da opere di carità. No full textThe dissensions of Archbishop M. Lefebvre regarding the teaching of the Vatican Council have been felt no greater than in the area regarding the liturgy. Proposing a diachronic rereading of his writings in relation to the reform of the holy rites, this article highlights the passage from an apparent adhesion to the principles set forth in the Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium by the same French prelate (who himself signed the same Constitution) to the growing polemic regarding its consequential results, made worse by conspiratorial ideas which brought him to adopt openly schismatic positions. This paper offers an opportunity to verify how the losing of the royal way as indicated by the conciliar dicta, on the one hand continues to generate nostalgic returns to the past, while on the other, offers pretexts for moving in all but unmapped directions with regards to the true intentions of the Second Vatican Council.Tra gli ambiti nei quali si è maggiormente segnalato il dissenso dell’arcivescovo M. Lefebvre nei confronti del magistero conciliare emerge quello liturgico. Proponendo una rilettura diacronica dei suoi scritti in relazione alla riforma dei riti, il contributo evidenzia il passaggio da un’apparente adesione, da parte del presule francese, ai principi enunciati dalla Costituzione Sacrosanctum Concilium, da lui sottoscritta, alla polemica crescente nei confronti dei suoi esiti, rincarata da idee complottiste che lo hanno condotto a posizioni dichiaratamente scismatiche. Il percorso offre l’opportunità di verificare, d’altra parte, come lo smarrimento della via maestra rappresentata dal dettato conciliare continui a generare ripiegamenti nostalgici sul passato e, in senso opposto, pretesti per procedere in direzioni del tutto estranee alle reali intenzioni del Vaticano II
Il dibattito sul diaconato femminile ai tempi di papa Francesco
No full textThe article, having recalled the beginnings of the debate on women’s diaconate during the post-conciliar period, aims to discuss how this debate has been developed during Pope Francis’ Pontificate, especially by those who retain possible and urgent the admission of women to the first grade of the sacrament of Holy Orders. It is a debate which has not yet reached a conclusion: there is a lack of consensus, and it would appear there are still tensions in the Church which at this moment would indicate against the taking of adecision. The article ends by proposing the case of women’s diaconate as a significant example of the presence of tensions in the living out of ecclesial synodality.L’articolo, dopo aver richiamato il sorgere nel periodo post-conciliare del dibattito sul diaconato femminile, intende raccontare come questo dibattito si stia svolgendo durante il pontificato di papa Francesco, specie da parte di chi ritiene possibile e urgente ammettere le donne al primo grado del sacramento dell’ordine. È un dibattito non ancora concluso: manca un consenso e sembrano esserci delle tensioni ecclesiali che non raccomandano al momento una presa di decisione. L’articolo termina proponendo il caso del diaconato femminile come un esempio significativo della presenza di tensioni nel vivere la sinodalità ecclesiale
Intelligenza artificiale e educazione: un incontro tra due mondi. Rischi e opportunità
Get PDFL’Intelligenza Artificiale (AI) sta diventando sempre più pervasiva nella nostra società: la maggior parte delle applicazioni tecnologiche commerciali utilizzate quotidianamente sfruttano queste tecniche per ottimizzare l’esperienza degli utenti, e si stanno facendo investimenti molto consistenti per mettere a punto sistemi che possano reagire ed adattarsi in tempo reale ai diversi comportamenti dei fruitori.
Nel mondo dell’educazione non c’è ancora un utilizzo diffuso di tali tecniche: in questo contributo verranno presentate alcune sperimentazioni dell’AI nel mondo della didattica, facendo emergere vantaggi e difficoltà dell’adozione di questi approcci a scuola. In particolare verranno analizzate due esperienze condotte dall’Autore, che si collocano nei due principali filoni dell’uso dell’AI a scuola: da un lato l’AI come oggetto di studio da parte degli studenti, che si trasformano in progettisti di sistemi AI e in questo modo si rendono consapevoli dei principali meccanismi utilizzati dalle moderne piattaforme tecnologiche per analizzare i nostri comportamenti e i nostri gusti; dall’altro l’AI come strumento per migliorare l’azione didattica, fornendo agli insegnanti dettagli significativi e utili (ottenuti grazie a tecniche di machine learning) del processo risolutivo messo in atto dagli studenti durante attività di Robotica Educativa. Se con la prima esperienza si è tentato di educare gli alunni ad un uso etico dell’AI, cercando di formare cittadini consapevoli rispetto agli algoritmi AI già molto diffusi in ogni aspetto della nostra quotidianità, con la seconda si è tentato di sfruttare le potenzialità delle tecniche machine learning per facilitare i docenti nell’analisi del processo di problem-solving dei discenti (e quindi comprendere meglio gli studenti che si hanno in classe così da personalizzare la proposta formativa)
Maria educatrice di Gesù. Elementi per uno studio interdisciplinare: Mary, Jesus’s educator: elements for a interdisciplinary study
Get PDFIn continuità con il percorso di ricerca interdisciplinare sviluppato dalla Pontificia Facoltà di Scienze dell’Educazione «Auxilium» intorno all’anno 2000, il presente contributo si propone di approfondire la dimensione educativa della maternità di Maria nei confronti di Gesù e la sua esemplarità nei confronti dell’azione pastorale della Chiesa. L’azione educativa, infatti, appartiene strutturalmente alla maternità umana e la relazione tra Maria e il Figlio non può fare eccezione, in quanto con l’incarnazione Dio porta tutto ciò che è autenticamente umano alla sua pienezza. Lo studio procede prendendo in considerazione il dato biblico neotestamentario e interpretandolo, secondo le indicazioni offerte da Paolo VI in Marialis Cultus, tenendo conto del contributo delle scienze umane e della situazione del mondo contemporaneo.
In continuity with the interdisciplinary research path developed by the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences «Auxilium» around the year 2000, the present contribution proposes to study more deeply the educational dimension of Mary’s motherhood of Jesus and its exemplary model for the pastoral practices of the Church. Indeed, educational practices structurally belong to human motherhood; the relation between Mary and the Son cannot be an exception, since in the Incarnation God brought everything that is genuinely human to its fullness. The study proceeds by taking into consideration the New Testament text and interpreting it according to the indications offered by Paul VI in Marialis Cultus, keeping in mind the contribution of the human sciences and the situation of the contemporary world.
Dando continuidad al itinerario de investigación interdisciplinar desarrollado por la Pontificia Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación «Auxilium» en torno al año 2000, la presente contribución se propone profundizar la dimensión educativa de la maternidad de María en relación con Jesús y su ejemplaridad en relación con la acción pastoral de la Iglesia. La acción educativa, en efecto, pertenece estructuralmente a la maternidad humana y a la relación entre María y el Hijo, sin excepción alguna, en cuanto que con la Encarnación, Dios lleva a plenitud todo lo que es auténticamente humano. El estudio procede tomando en consideración el dato bíblico neotestamentario e interpretándolo, según las indicaciones ofrecidas por Pablo VI en la Marialis Cultus, teniendo en cuenta la contribución de las ciencias humanas y de la situación del mundo contemporáneo
