    Çocukların medya kullanımı açısından televizyon ve yeni medya teknoloji

    Ziel dieser Studie ist es, die Bedeutung und Notwendigkeit von Studien zur intelligenten Nutzung von Medien sowie Technologie in der digitalisierten Welt hervorzuheben und über Lösungsangebote im Hinblick auf eine Medienkompetenzaneignung zu diskutieren. Um die Beziehung zwischen Kindern und Medien besser analysieren zu können wurde für die vorliegende Arbeit eine qualitative Forschung bevorzugt. Dabei wurden zehn Mütter aus verschiedenen Wohnorten in Istanbul per Videokonferenz interviewt. Restriktionen aufgrund der Pandemie erschwerten die weitreichende Befragung und Integration der Kinder sowie Kindergartenbetreuer(-innen). Negative Erfahrungen in der Medienwelt werden heute nicht nur durch Technologie verursacht, sondern auch durch den Mangel an ausreichend qualifizierten Experten in diesem Bereich. Die wichtigste und kritischste Altersspanne von 0 bis 6 Jahren, bestimmt die Zukunft eines Kindes und das Fundament der Gesellschaft. Daher ist es wichtig, die Fähigkeit zu entwickeln, mit der Technologie zu leben, Probleme zu lösen und gleichzeitig zielgerichtet präventives Handeln zu fördern. In Bezug auf bestehenden Forschungen und den erzielten Ergebnissen, stellt sich heraus, dass dieser Prozess lediglich mit der Synergie zwischen Kind, Familie und Umwelt ermöglicht werden kann. Sowohl das fehlende Wissen und die unzureichende Kompetenz in diesem Gebiet erfordert eine umfassendere Forschung für die Entwicklung kompetenter Modelle.Bu çalışmanın amacı, dijitalleşen dünyada medya ve teknolojinin akıllı kullanımı ile ilgili araştırmaların önemini ve gerekliliğini vurgulamak ve medya becerilerinin kazandırılmasına yönelik olası çözümleri tartışmaktır. Çocuklar ve medya arasındaki ilişkiyi daha iyi analiz edebilmek için bu çalışmada nitel araştırma tercih edilmiştir. İstanbul'da farklı yerleşim yerlerinde ikamet eden on anne ile video konferans yöntemiyle görüşülmüştür. Pandemi dolayısıyla yaşanan kısıtlamalar, çocukların ve anaokulu öğretmenlerinin kapsamlı bir şekilde görüşmelere dahil edilememelerine sebep olmuştur. Günümüzde yaşanan olumsuz sonuçlar sadece teknolojinin getirisi olmamakla birlikte; bu gelişen alanda yeterli nitelikte uzman olmamasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bir çocuğun geleceğini belirleyen en önemli ve dahi en kritik dönem, 0-6 yaş aralığına tekabül etmekte ve toplumun temelini belirlemektedir. Bu nedenle, teknolojiyle birlikte yaşama, sorunları çözme ve aynı zamanda hedeflenen önleyici eylemleri teşvik etme becerisini geliştirmek önem arzetmektedir. Mevcut araştırmalara ve elde edilen sonuçlara bakıldığında, bu sürecin ancak çocuk, aile ve çevre arasındaki sinerji ile mümkün olabileceği ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu alanda mevcut bilgi eksikliğinin yanı sıra yetersiz olan yetkinlikleri geliştirmek adına daha kapsamlı araştırmalar yapılması gerekmektedir. Sonuç olarak; çocukların medya yetkinliği, ancak araştırmalardan edinilen verilerle geliştirilmiş etkin ve özgün bir model ile toplumsal bilinçlenme yolunda gerçekleştirilir

    Digital Challenges in the Governance of Business Networks in the Post-Pandemic Era

    Digital transformation creates opportunities like new business structures, strategies, and models. However, these opportunities bring also new challenges. Starting the digitalization process before the pandemic has been an advantage for companies. Today, digital transformation is seen as a must and it reached its peak in some sectors during the pandemic. Business networks in general, Business to Customer (B2C) business networks specifically met serious problems during the lock-down periods. Monitoring and control are some of the fundamental tools that are used by the network owners to keep everything under control. In addition to the obstacles in main business activities, control cannot be performed properly in many B2C networks, due to traveling and other restrictions during the pandemic. This article aims to provide insights regarding the challenges experienced during the pandemic from a digitalization perspective. Furthermore, based on the digital solutions during the pandemic, this research aims to review how business networks reacted to the crisis and solved main governance problems. Organizations have started to use new processes to monitor and control their networks. The solutions developed to these challenges and their effect on governance will also be investigated in this article. © Peter Lang GmbH

    SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF MWCNT-SUPPORTED PBI MEMBRANES FOR HT-PEM FUEL CELLS

In this study, PBI polymer and the membranes were synthesized for HT-PEMFC applications. Then, the polymer was characterized by using NMR and TG analyses. All the characteristic peaks were observed in the NMR results and PBI polymer decompose around 550 °C. After the synthesis, pristine and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) supported membranes were prepared, doped with phosphoric acid and characterized by using TGA, FT-IR, XRD, SEM and EIS tests. The characteristic bonds of the polymer for both undoped and doped membranes were seen in FT-IR results. XRD results showed the semi-crystalline structure of the polymer. SEM results enabled to observe the homogeneous dispersion of the MWCNTs within the membrane. Finally, EIS tests were carried out in anhydrous conditions. The conductivities were obtained for pristine PBI membrane as 0.0518 S/cm, 0.0667 S/cm and 0.0895 S/cm, respectively. For the 0.5wt% PBI/MWCNT membrane, they were calculated as 0.0401 S/cm, 0.0586 S/cm and 0.0613 S/cm for 120 °C, 140 °C and 160 °C, respectively. For the 1wt% PBI/MWCNT membrane, slightly higher conductivities were obtained as 0.0429 S/cm, 0.0621 S/cm and 0.0655 S/cm for the temperatures 120 °C, 140 °C and 160 °C, respectively. © 2022 Proceedings of WHEC 2022 - 23rd World Hydrogen Energy Conference: Bridging Continents by H2.     Bu çalışmada, temel olarak kobilere yatırım yapan yatırımcılar ve kobilerin yöneticileri açısından sermaye maliyetinin analizi konusu ile genel olarak öz sermaye değerlemesine yönelik bazı yaklaşımlar irdelenmiştir. Bu nedenle öncelikli olarak kobi tanımı dünyada ve Türkiye’de nasıldır hangi kriterlere göre belirlenmiştir. Kobilerin dünya ekonomisindeki ve Türkiye’deki payı ile genel özellikleri ortaya konmuştur. İlerleyen bölümlerde öz sermaye değerlemesinde öne çıkan ve hem yatırımcılar hem de yöneticiler açısından önem arz eden başlıklar sırasıyla ele alınmıştır. Bu noktada sırasıyla finansal tabloların önemi, finansal analiz yöntemlerinden oran analizi yatay analiz ve yatay analize etki eden enflasyon gibi önemli konular üzerinde durulmuştur. Öz sermaye maliyeti yatırımcılar açısından kritik öneme sahip olması nedeniyle literatürde yer sermaye yapısı ve bileşenlerine yönelik temel teori ve yaklaşımlar ele alınmıştır. Sermaye yapısına etki eden faktörler incelenmiş ve detay bilgiler sunulmuştur. Bu noktada tezin üçüncü bölümünde ise BİST endeksinden seçilen bir firmanın oranları ele alınmış ve örnek firma üzerinde gerçekleşmiş rakamların finansal tablolara ve oran analizine yansıması irdelenmiştir. Yine sektörde yer alan diğer firmalarla kıyas yapılmış olup nihai olarak yatırımcıların matematiksel hesaplamalar dışında dikkat ettiği noktalar ön plana alınmıştır.In this study, the analysis of the cost of capital and some approaches about equity valuation in general, in terms of investors and managers of SMEs, are examined. For this reason, first of all, the definition of SME was determined according to what kind of criteria are valid in the world and in Turkey. The share and general characteristics of SMEs in the world economy and in Turkey were revealed. In the following sections, the headings that stand out in equity valuation and that are important for both investors and managers are addressed respectively. At this point, important issues such as the importance of financial statements, ratio analysis among financial analysis methods, horizontal analysis, and inflation affecting horizontal analysis are emphasized, respectively. Since the cost of equity is of critical importance for investors, basic theories and approaches to capital structure and its components are discussed in the literature. The factors affecting the capital structure were examined and detailed information was presented. At this point, in the third part of the thesis, the ratios of a company selected from the BIST 100 index are discussed and the reflection of the figures realized on the sample company on the financial statements and ratio analysis is examined. Again, comparisons were made with other companies in the sector, and finally, the points that investors paid attention to, apart from mathematical calculations, were highlighted

    Partial discharge detection in pressboards immersed in mineral insulation oil with quantum well hall effect magnetic field sensors

    Insulation degradation may cause inefficient and faulty operation of transformers. The insulation failures in transformers mostly start with a Partial Discharge (PD) event. For both operational and cost reasons to ensure the best performance and functionality of transformers, early detection of PD events is of great importance. In this paper presents a novel PD detection technique by using a highly sensitive Quantum Well Hall Effect (QWHE) magnetic field sensor and compares the findings with an off-the-shelf silicon magnetic field transducer. The investigation of the QWHE for high voltage engineering problem such as PD detection is given first time in this paper. The aim of the study is to detect PD activity in pressboards immersed in mineral insulation oil experimentally using a new QWHE sensor. The measured experimental data from both sensors are decomposed by Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) and Wavelet Decomposition (WD) methods, and PD signals are analyzed comparatively. The results show that QWHE sensors provide more accurate and noise-free measurements allowing early and more accurate PD detections

    Improving Disease Diagnosis with Integrated Machine Learning Techniques

In this study, we focus on the application of machine learning algorithms for disease diagnosis in order to support decision making of physicians. Different classification methods are used to predict the diameter narrowing in the heart using an anonymous dataset. In order to increase the prediction ability of the machine learning algorithms, we employ different feature extraction methods such as Autoencoder, Stacked Autoencoder, Convolutional Neural Network, and Principal Component Analysis methods and integrate each feature extraction method with the classification methods. Then, we compare the prediction performances of individual and feature-extraction-integrated classification methods. It is shown that the prediction performance of the classification methods increase when integrated with feature extraction methods. However, it is concluded that not all feature extraction methods work as well with all classification methods. When a specific classification method is integrated with the appropriate feature extraction method, a better improvement in the prediction performance can be obtained

    Assessment on the stable and high capacity Na-Se batteries with carbonate electrolytes

    Factors affecting proper functioning of Na-Se system are investigated focusing on the polyselenide formation in ether- and carbonate-based electrolytes. To do so, Se cathode is prepared by ball milling with commercial carbon and selenium powders. It is revealed that the soluble polyselenide species form in ether while no signature in carbonates proven by the in-situ cyclic voltammetry and ex-situ ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy measurements as well as monitoring self-discharge behaviours. Different Se discharge mechanism is also highlighted by staircase potentio electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (SPEIS) that is an impedance measurement applied to each potential step. Volume expansion is targeted using different types of binders in which carboxyl methylcellulose-styrene butadiene rubber (CMC-SBR) delivers the highest reversible capacity and the best rate performance resulting from its high adhesion strength. To further improve the performances, fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) is used as a film forming additive that preserves Na metal integrity proven by the Na-Na symmetric cells and voltage relaxation upon cycling. As a whole, binders and electrolyte compositions are found to be the two crucial factors to obtain stable and high-capacity Na-Se cells. This study underlines that much effort needs to be put on the strategies to overcome volume expansion than that of Se confinement into porous cathode

    Bu çalışmada dijitalleşme özelinde oyuncunun ve izleyicinin analizi yapılmıştır. Dijitalleşmenin ne olduğu tartışılmış ve dijitalleşme öncesi dönemdeki tanımlar, klasik tanımlar olarak kabul edilmiştir. Dijitalleşme sonrasındaki kırılma oyun ve sinema dünyasındaki iki verili örnek üzerinden etkin izleyici-oyuncu ve edilgen izleyici-oyuncu ayrımıyla tartışılmıştır. Çalışma her ne kadar alan araştırması imkânını içerisinde potansiyel olarak barındırsa da kaynak kısıtlılığı nedeniyle bir alan araştırmasıyla zenginleştirilmemiştir. Fakat, bu eksiklik olası ilerideki çalışmaları besleme potansiyelini açık bırakmasıyla da olsa tesellidir. Bu eksiklik oyun içi istatistiki bilgilere değinilmeyle bir nebze giderilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada yöntem olarak içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. 2018 yılında piyasaya çıkan Detroit: Become Human oyunu ve Black Mirror: Bandersnatch filmi araştırma nesnesi olarak tercih edilmiştir. Oyunun ve filmin içeriği aktarılmış, etkin ve edilgen izleyici-oyuncu nezdinde bu içeriklerin dönüştürücü nüansı üzerine tartışma yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonucunda ise, günümüz dünyasını sosyolojik perspektifte dijitalleşmeye odaklanmanın gerekliliği ve bu iddiaya etkin izleyici vasıtasıyla seçili araştırma nesneleri üzerinden sosyolojik tahayyül ile ulaşılabileceği yorumuna ulaşılmaktadır.In this study, the analysis of the actor and the audience has been made in terms of digitalization. Question of “what is digitalization” was discussed, definitions in the pre-digitalization period have been accepted as classical definitions. The break after digitalization has been discussed with the distinction between active audience-actor and passive audience-actor through two given examples in the world of video game and cinema. Although the study contains potential for field research, it has not been enriched by a field study due to resource constraints, however, within this shortcoming, it has the potential to conduct field research in the context of future relevant study. This deficiency was tried to be corrected by including in-game statistical information. Content analysis was used as a method in this study. Released 2018 Detroit: Become Human as a video game and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch as a movie were chosen as research objects. The content of the video game and the film was conveyed, and discussions were made on the concepts of active and passive audience-actors and the transformative nuances of these contents. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the way to understand today's world from a sociological perspective is through digitalization, and that this claim can be reached with a sociological imagination through selected research objects through an active audience

    An analysis of European actors policies towards operation peace spring

    Türkiye’nin Suriye’nin kuzeyini terörist unsurlardan temizleyerek güvenli bölge oluşturmak, mültecilerin geri dönüşünü kolaylaştırmak, bölgede DEAŞ’ın faaliyetlerini engellemek ve PKK/YPG’nin hareket alanını kısıtlamak amacıyla 9 Ekim 2019 tarihinde başlatmış olduğu Barış Pınarı Harekâtı’na (BPH) Avrupalı aktörlerden birçok tepki gelmiştir. Bu tepkiler çoğunlukla Türkiye’nin gerçekleştirmiş olduğu operasyonun uluslararası hukuka aykırı olduğu, DEAŞ ile mücadelede YPG’nin zayıflayacağı iddialarına ek olarak Yabancı Terörist Savaşçıların vatandaşı oldukları ülkelere geri dönmesi ile bu durumun siyasi, hukuki ve toplumsal sorunlara sebep olacağına ve Avrupa’ya yeni bir göç dalgasına sebep olabileceğine dair çekinceleri içermektedir. Çalışmada öncelikle Barış Pınarı Harekâtı uluslararası hukuk ve BM Anlaşması’nın 51. Maddesinde yer alan “meşru müdafaa” ilkesi kapsamında değerlendirilmekte, ardından AB ve AB’nin önde gelen aktörleri olan Almanya, Fransa ve İngiltere’nin Barış Pınarı Harekâtı’na yönelik politikaları incelenmektedir.There were many reactions from European actors to Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring (OPS), which was launched on October 9, 2019, in order to create a safe zone by cleansing the north of Syria from terrorist elements, facilitate the return of refugees, prevent DAESH activities in the region, and restrict the PKK/YPG’s movements. These reactions mostly include claims that Turkey’s operation violates international law, that the YPG will be weakened in the fight against DAESH, that the return of Foreign Terrorist Fighters to their countries of origin will cause political, legal and social problems in Europe, and that it will also lead to a new wave of migration to Europe. In this article, Operation Peace Spring is evaluated within the scope of international law and the principle of “self-defense” of Article 51 of the UN Charter.     Application of energy efficiency obligation scheme for electricity distribution companies in Turkey

    To realize the existing energy-saving potential in a short time according to 2012/27/EU Energy Efficiency Directive, in 2017, Turkey published National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP), containing Energy Efficiency Obligation Schemes EEOS establishment action. Since research studies are needed to guide the NEEAP, this study was conducted to establish an exemplary model for Turkish EEOS. Based on the literature, the main hypothesis of the study is "EEOS could contribute significantly to NEEAP targets". Electricity Distribution Companies (EDCs) are assumed as obligated parties, a guideline containing standard energy efficiency (EE) actions for residential, commercial, and industrial sectors was prepared. Concerning EDCs' market shares, mixedinteger linear programming models, minimizing EE actions' costs, were developed to examine four annual saving targets (0.8%, 1.5%, 2%, and least) under three scenarios (yearly-based obligation, yearly-based with using 5% of each action and no constraints). Saving target 2% for 7 years with no constraint gives the highest energysaving (above 200 TWh) and the least is from the least annual target for 10 years with yearly based obligation (below 100 TWh). In conclusion, if EDCs fulfill their obligations under specified targets and scenarios, Turkish NEEAP's saving target can be fulfilled between 10% and 44%, supporting the hypothesis of the study
