Acquisition of Interrogatives and Constraint Hierarchy
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)The aim of this paper is to provide a straightforward and unified account for interrogative patterns which vary across the range of possible interim grammars by making use of Optimality Theoretic constraints. The constraints include the restriction on clause type, feature specification, head, and traces. The proposed hypothesis is that in Standard English, the constraints are stratified in the order enumerated. Thus the optimal representation of an interrogative in English, whether it be a yes-no question or a wh-question, is the one that best satisfies the stratified constraints. Demonstrating that systematic failure of Subject-AUX Inversion (SAI) in embedded questions of Standard English is also explained as a consequence of the interactions of the constraints, this paper argues that sporadic or systematic occurrence of SAI in embedded contexts of interim grammars of English immediately follows from the difference of the same set of constraints.departmental bulletin pape
Aspect Ratio Dependence of a Configuration of Shielding Current Front in a Superconducting Plate under a Perpendicular Magnetic Field
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)In this paper we show that a configuration of shielding current front in a superconducting plate under a perpendicular magnetic field He, can be well approximated by a curve with the n-th order power, over wide range of aspect ratio: a=0.2~5. The aspect ratio dependences of the curve parameters are determined very precisely based on shielding conditions with a restriction of He/（J, a)=0.1, where Je is the superconducting critical current density of the plate with span 2a. The precision of this method is evaluated by a magnitude of residual error field in the shielded region, and its Root-MeanSquare(RMS) value is suppressed to a level smaller than 0.6% of He． The n value has a bell-shaped dependence, and takes a peak 7.6 near â=1, which means the front curvature becomes strongest when the plate span equals its thickness. As the aspect ratio becomes larger, magnetic flux penetrates more easily to the interior of the plate. For example, flux front position moves from 0.89a, near slab limit value, to 0.64a , corresponding to â=0.2 and â=5, respectively.departmental bulletin pape

It's often said good news text brings about good announcing and good announcing highlights the original text. I'd like to conduct an analysis on the radio text and also listen to its broadcast, finding what's been reported and how they are correlated. The news I'm going to analyze was broadcast on Oct. 2, 2004 from NHK World Service. It was read by a female announcer very effectively. Rising tones and falling tones in the sentences are employed nicely and key points are nicely presented. For example, in the news Ichiro broke the record, the announcer read it rather emotionally which tells the listeners the happy sentiment behind. Announcers should consider the intentions of news writers, and news-writers should think about the announcer's sentiment or emotional situations. On Covert Wh-agreement and That-trace Effect
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)This paper shows that wh-feature checking in the clause domain which a wh-phrase moves through can be reduced to feature properties. In Standard English, T-to-C movement never occurs in the embedded clause from which a wh-phrase is extracted. This fact suggests that wh-feature checking in the embedded clause is implemented in LF (Logical Form). This checking is closely related to thattrace effect and the asymmetric extraction possibilities from subject and non-subject positions in sentences with overt complementizers. The effect actually varies across Germanic languages. Its acceptance depends on whether the complementizer that functions as an semantically defective expletive or not.departmental bulletin pape
A Study of Rest Rooms in Small-sized Restaurant in Beijing
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)Chaina joined in WTO and they are now asking to hold the Olympics in Beijing. Therefore, road maintenance and city modernization are rapidly taking place. On the other side, there are still many of small-sized restaurants. On inverstigation, most of these restaurants have only been running for 4 to 5 years. In general, that is inconceivable. Moreover, 37.5% of the restaurants don't have rest rooms.
Properly speaking, this is their concern related to their custom and not something which should be brought up from outsiders. However, considering that there will be many foreigners visiting Chaina, the problem simply cannot be dismissed as a "custom". The problem is due to the water shortage, limited area of the restaurants and apparatuses.
In order to solve these, the government is now carrying out a large-scale project to secure enough water. The government also need to strengthen the guidance of sanitation in rest rooms. Japanese rest room apparatus manufacturers in Chaina are selling both western- and Chainese-style toilets. So, the manufacturers should propose our products and technology for them. At this article, it surveyed an opposed theory about the legal nature of the reservation of proprietary rights before reviewing of this judgment.
Then, it reviewed some case specifically about the problem about the buying and selling with the reservation of proprietary rights.

Then, the circumstances were examined based on the data which the faculty has made. Consequently, some problems were found. (1) Although the building, the object of aquisition, is shared with a several departments, cooperation with each of them are insufficient. (2) Importance of acquiring IS014001 is not being understood by the all departments concemed. (3) Electricity, gas, water, etc of the building can't be measured separately from other buildings of the university. (4) Since it was prepared only in one faculty, examination of problems is insufficient. (5) The top management is not making a full use of its leadership. The followings are mentioned about the above. (a) A cooperative system with other departments must be created. (b) Importance of aquiring IS014001 should be understood by all departments concerned. (c) Basically, preparation is insufficient. (d) Examination of the ploblem having an influence on environment is insufficient. (e) The top management must take the leadership. Observation of the Electromagnetic Wave in a Cellular Phone and a Laboratory
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)The magnetic force generated while using a cellular phone and walls of laboratory has been observed with a gauss meter.
1) Cellular Phone: The electric force shows a high value in the liquid crystal display, keys and antenna attachment parts on the surface of a cellular phone. However, its back side shows a lower value compared with the surface conversely. If the magnetic force on a surface of a cellular phone is compared with that of 10 cm away from the surface when it is in use, the latter decrease from the former by 1/2.
2) Walls of Laboratory: The magnetic force is partially observed on the side walls in laboratories. This force shows a quite low value compared with that of a cellular phone. Moreover, although a case is not known, about 27 mG may be suddenly observed on the side walls. People are exposed by the various electromagnetic wave to a greater or less extent that are generated from surrounding laboratories like cellular phones. Therefore, it is presumed that there is a need to take measures immediately to meet the disorder caused by electromagnetic wave which may be induced.departmental bulletin pape
