The Trend of Small-Sized Restaurants in the Center of the City of Beijing
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)Beijing in Chaina is now proceeding with city maintenance at a high pace for Olympic Game in 2008. As a result, the streets with small-sized restaurants and traditional brick housings have disappeared. In the investigation in March 2003, 80.5% of 200 small—sized restaurants were in business for less than 3 years. Then, when the investigation was made again in August 2004, 110 out of 200 restaurants had disappeared. In the circumference of an university, road maintenance is proceeding, and many restaurants are going out of business. There are some parts where all restaurants on a street have went out of business. However, Rokudouguti is an unique case that the buildings remaind but the names of the restaurants changed. It is assumed that this is related to the shortness of time they have been in business as we learn in the last investigation. In the tourist resorts, a high percentage of the restaurants are still in business because the city maintenance has been proceeding for some time. There is no sign that a replacement land will be prepared for the restaurants who had to close their because of the city maintenance. This must be making the lives difficult for the restaurant owners and their families. It is necessary to pay attention to the city maintenance in future.departmental bulletin pape

Research on Bamboo Charcoal I
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)The function of bamboo charcoal has attracted attention from the field of protection of natural environment recently. In connection with it, bamboo charcoal is made of MOUSOU bamboo etc. using various kinds of kiln. Then, in order to experiment about the function of bamboo charcoal, we started by making bamboo charcoal kiln. Our first bamboo charcoal kiln (about 100 kg) with its chimney having diameter of 6 cm did not function well enough. Since the chimney did not discharge smoke as we assumed, the temperature in the kiln stopped at 400℃. Next kiln was divided into three layers to make it easier to handle, and its chimney having diameter of 9 cm. Consequently, the temperature in the kiln reached about 800℃. We were able to make bamboo charcoal that was nearly what we had assumed. One of the methods to evaluate the bamboo charcoal is to measure its electricity resistor. The result we got from the method is that, it is below 20Ωcm. It has shown the charcoal functions well. Therefore, we conclude that the second set of bamboo charcoal kiln is effective.departmental bulletin pape

Students in our department are given the same mathematical tests every year.
The author has taken charge of students who entered in 2001, and has kept the results of the mathematical test and surveyed similar relationships in other subjects for years.
The author investigated the correlation between the above results of mathematical testing and grades in other subjects within our department. The correlation factor for mathematics is 0.3 or less and so is not very high, but the percentage of absenteeism is rather highly related with grades in other subjects, as the correlation factor is 0.6 and above.departmental bulletin pape
Enhancement of sticking probability of inert gas atoms impinging near adosorbed atoms
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)Sticking probabilities of inert gas atoms are investigated by applying the stochastic trajectory method to a simple one dimensional model. The stochastic equations of motion of the incident inert gas atom and the surface atom are treated under the Markov limit. The sticking probabilities are esti— mated from the micro-canonical sticking probabilities which are obtained by the numerical integration of the stochastic equations of motion. The adsorption energy for the isolate adsorption of Ar atom on copper surface is estimated to be about 750K on the basis of the observed sticking probability. By adding an Ar-Ar interaction potential, the sticking probability at the neighboring sites of an isolate adosorbed atom is estimated about 0.2. However, the obtained value is too small to explain the observed coverage dependence of the sticking probability of Ar on copper. The surface diffusion is deduced to be necessary in order to reproduce the enhancement of the sticking probability near the isolate adsorbed inert gas atom from some remarks obtained from the one dimensional model.departmental bulletin pape
On the Earthquake Prediction of the Earthquake off the Western Coast of Fukuoka
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)As part of earthquake prediction research, observations have been performed using simulated circuits modeling the electrical potential in live plants, nonresonating circuits, and LC resonance circuits. From this research, the ripple change characteristic of LC resonance circuits is displayed. By examining the change in this ripple, it is found to match an electromagnetic wave that is one of the known earthquake precursor phenomena. Unusual change in this ripple was detected on March 4, and it is noted that the earthquake off the western coast of Fukuoka (M7.0) occurred 16 days later, on March 20, 2005. Furthermore, similar anomalies of lesser magnitude were detected in the ripple on April 12, and the aftershock (M5.8) occurred eight days later, on April 20. After the observed pulse displays an unusual change, an earthquake occurs. This phenomenon is related to the electromagnetic wave emitted before an earthquake occurs. Since the major earthquake and aftershock have occurred after an unusual pulse change appears, it is inferred that it is possible to use phenomenon in earthquake prediction.departmental bulletin pape

Also, J.S.Wemer in 1996 has reported that there no difference was observed in the color vision of subjects between 13 and 73 years old. The author here reports on the results of measurement of color vision MTF properties for an aged subject in comparison with those of young subjects. In connection with them, damage was incurred by Japanese companies and Japanese individuals in China. Serious material and immaterial damage was caused not only to Japan, but also to China itself. Many Japanese who were planning travel to China during the week of holidays that runs from the end of April to the beginning of May, were reported as having been canceled. Moreover, in the long run, it is expected that Japanese visitors to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and the Shanghai Exposition in 2010 will sharply decrease in number for similar reasons. China needs to realize successes through the Olympic games and the Shanghai Exposition to support further economic development.
