Medical Treatment Refusal and Judicial Precedent Theory-A Study of the Personal autonomy and Consentment éclairée of a Patient in France -
application/pdf論文(Article)This paper reconsiders the character and the limit of a right of medical treatment refusal of a patient. Can a patient refuse treatment(eg. on the grounds of his religious belief), although that refusal will ultimately result in the person’s death, or can a third person impose a duty of medical treatment against a patient’s will?.
According to the judicial precedent, the right of medical treatment refusal, which makes principle of Integrity or Inviolability of body or person the basis, has the following limits: first, in a relation with a doctor, when there is a risk of the patient’s death, this right is not accepted, and then in a relation with a third person with an interest, a patient may be unable to refuse an operation. This judicial precedent distinguishes an intervention by the gravity of the degree, and refusal of a risk-free usual medical treatment and operation is not allowed and considered as “faute”. This right has only relative character and such a limit. Also with transfusion medical treatment, it is supposed that it corresponds to the usual medical treatment, therefore, the refusal of a transfusion treatment is not accepted as “abus de droit”. A patient will hesitate at use of a right and will be daunted by such situation. This patient’s medical right must not receive such restriction, and probably, by giving a higher legal basis to it, this right must be constituted as a higher right.departmental bulletin pape
Note on Current Distribution of a Superconducting Plate in an Oblique Magnetic Field
application/pdf論文(Article)When a magnetic field is applied obliquely to the surface of a superconducting plate, a shielded region is formed in its interior space surrounded by shielding currents. In case of a plate having infinitely small thickness, a configuration of the current front can be well described by a model proposed by G.P.Mikitik, E.H.Brandt et.al. In order to investigate the applicability of this current model to a thicker plate, the center field produced by the current distribution is calculated numerically in low and medium range of external field, which does not cause full flux penetration to the plate center. As is expected for this model, a magnitude and an angle of the remaining field in the center are very small in a small range of α,where α is defined by the ratio of a plate thickness to its width. However, these values build up and magnetic shielding becomes incomplete when α is larger than 0.1. As a result, it can be concluded that this current model is not applicable for α larger than 0.17, for which an other adequate model will be expected.departmental bulletin pape
Electrochemical Properties of Electropolymerized Redox Dyes and Their Application to Tyrosinase-based 2,4-Dichlorophenol Biosensor
application/pdf論文(Article)Three redox dyes, Neutral Red (NR), Brilliant Cresyl Blue (BCB), and Toluidine Blue (TB), which have similar substituents on phenazine, phenoxazine, and phenothiazine ring structures independently, have been electropolymerized with cyclic voltmmometric technique onto graphite electrodes. These polyazines were found to show inherent redox activities, while the redox potentials were shifted to the positive potential region compared with those of the corresponding monomer. Enzyme electrodes constructed with tyrosinase (EC 1.14.18.1) showed the sensor response against 2, 4-dichlorophenol (2, 4-DCP) employed as a model substrate, and it was observed that the response current could be increased by introducing a layer of poly (NR) or poly (BCB) on the surface of graphite electrodes. It is suggested that these redox active polyazine layers act as electron mediators, though unambiguous evidence has not been obtained by examining the change of cyclic voltammograms with addition of the substrate.departmental bulletin pape
Experimental Fabrication of a Lighting System for Wheelchairs with an Adjustable Function for Converging/Diffusing Light -Fabrication of a Lighting System for Wheelchairs Aimed at Enhancing the Effectiveness of the Students’ Study in Project Study Programs-
application/pdf論文(Article)In this paper, the authors describe the development and fabrication of a lighting system for wheelchairs to be used by those who experience difficulty in walking. The work was assigned to the students as an exercise to enhance the effectiveness of their study in the project study programs at the Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Junior College. A one-chip microcomputer commonly used in small-scale control units was used to control the lighting system with a program developed by the students. The students showed greater enthusiasm than those assigned other exercises, since they seemed to be proud of creating something that assists people. As a result, the authors could recognize progress in their skills and techniques in both software and hardware, and eventually, the finished system nearly reached the level where it could be put to practical use.It has been confirmed that employing this exercise in project study programs increased the level of communication between the teachers and the students and enhanced the effectiveness of the students' study.02876620departmental bulletin pape
Emergence of Cooperative Action in Nash-Q Learning
application/pdf論文(Article)The effect of Nash-Q learning algorithm has not yet been confirmed in multiple experiments. We adopted a 5×5 grid world in which two agents started from opposite lower corners and tried to reach their respective goal cell. Experiments showed performance differences between single agent Q-learning and Nash-Q learning. In the Nash-Q learning, both agents obtained similar accumulated re-wards; however, in the Q learning, each agent accumulated his reward differently. Findings of this re-search confirmed that when agents adopt Nash Q-learning to predict the other agent’s behavior, not only is the performance of the agents better than their performance when using single-agent Q-learning, but the emergence of the cooperative action can also be observed.departmental bulletin pape
Design of Switched Reluctance Motor for Electric Vehicle Using Finite Element Method
application/pdf論文(Article)In this paper, Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) for electric vehicle (EV) is designed using finite element method (FEM). The static torque of SRM is calculated with the magnetic field analysis. The temperature rise of SRM is calculated with the heat transfer analysis. First, the static torque and temperature rise of 600W SRM of sample machine are measured in the experiment, and they are compared with the calculated results using FEM under the same conditions. The validity of magnetic field analysis and heat transfer analysis is verified by the comparison. Then, the 60kW SRM for EV which has the output characteristics equal to 1500cc gasoline engine is designed with the magnetic field analysis and heat transfer analysis.departmental bulletin pape
Study on Bamboo Charcoal II
application/pdf論文(Article)Bamboo charcoal, which is the solid ingredient of bamboo, is produced by dry-distilling the raw material of bamboo in the sealing type electric furnace for the experiment (experiment furnace). The main purpose of this experiment is to decide the optimal temperature and the length of maintenance time for producing high quality bamboo charcoal. Consequently, the following knowledge was acquired. 1)When the furnace temperature is raised quickly, the bamboo charcoal gets cracks, and becomes fragile. It is, therefore, necessary to set the gradual heat decomposition temperature range of the bamboo material by the dry distillation, and secure the sufficient maintenance time. 2)In order to promote carbonization, it is important to maintain the temperature after the dry distillation temperature is gradually raised to the upper limit temperature of800℃. 3)It has not resulted in decision of the setting temperature and the length of the maintenance time, since it is difficult to produce uniform bamboo charcoal in quality, and moreover the visual observation performed by the knowledge acquired through experience can not be used. In consideration of these points above, not only striving for collecting further data through the experimental furnace but also trying to produce higher quality bamboo charcoal which is equal to evaluation by using the metal bamboo charcoal kiln.02876620departmental bulletin pape
Variation of Interrogatives in English and French
application/pdf論文(Article)Aim of this paper is to provide a systematic account for the question formation and its cross-linguistic variation by making use of empirically well motivated constraints. Such constraints include the restriction on clause type, economy of derivation and representation, head, and traces. In line with the Optimality Theory, the constraints should be stratified according to the descriptions of grammatical structures. Interactions of the pivotal constraints determines the question formation. Furthermore, the constraint interactions and their different hierarchy can provide a unified account for the cross-linguistic variation between English and French concerning occurrence of subject-aux inversion and the wh-movement.departmental bulletin pape
Study on Recycling-Oriented Society for Sustainable Development-Case of Study: the HITA-City Model-
application/pdf論文(Article)Japanese Government declared that the “2000 A.D. was the First Year of the Recycling-Oriented Society in Japan”. However, in order to build a Sustainable Development Society, the concept of Recycling-Oriented Society should be carefully examined, in order to determine if the Society is truly able to realize its Sustainable Development. Taking the case of HITA-City, Oita Prefecture, as a case of study, this paper discusses the Recycling-Oriented Society for Sustainable Development, from the viewpoint of regional characteristics. After the careful investigations in HITA-Area and the interview with the Mayor of HITA, we came to the conclusion that HITA-System of the Recycling-Oriented Society (HITA-City Model) should be the germ of the truly Sustainable Development Society. We all should work together to promote the spread of the HITA-City Model in Japan.departmental bulletin pape
