Line Following Robot that Uses an Indicator Rope I
application/pdf論文(Article)Most line following robots, which are used for the basic education, are only able to travel along a drawn line. In this paper, one proposes the idea of using a flexible rope, which can be freely followed by the robot. In addition, by using a yellow and black striped pattern on the rope, one calculates the travel distance. Information concerning the travel distance was wirelessly relayed to a personal computer, and in this manner the positional status of the robot can be displayed on the screen. As a result, a simple robot with high travel flexibility was successfully developed.departmental bulletin pape
Complementizer Movement and its Diachronic Variation
application/pdf論文(Article)Aim of this paper is to provide a straightforward account for the demise of obligatory introduc-tion of the complementizer that in the late 16th century. A cross-linguistic study reveals that the com-plementizer that undergoes a T-to-C movement. Such movement is ascribed to the existence of EPP feature in the head of CP and the distribution of that and null-that bears on the EPP feature. The EPP feature was obligatorily introduced in the head of CP up to the late 16th century. Owing to the rich in-flectional system of IP and the specification of the EPP feature in the head of IP, the EPP feature per-colated up to the head of CP and it induced a T-to-C movement of that. Loss of the rich inflectional system in the late 16th century caused the percolation of the EPP feature from the head of IP to die out, which yielded the advent of null-that.departmental bulletin pape
Electrocatalytic Degradation of Chlorinated Phenolic Compound with Laccase-Modified Polyaniline / Silica Sol-Gel / Carbon Composite Electrodes
application/pdf論文(Article)Laccase (E.C. 1.10.3.2) from Trametes versicolor has been electrochemically immobilized on the layer of electropolymerized polyaniline entrapped in a thin silica sol-gel film deposited onto a carbon electrode. A couple of redox peaks have been observed for the cyclic voltammogram of the laccase-immobilized electrode, suggesting that direct electron transfer occurs between the enzyme molecule and the electrode. Magnitude of the oxidation peak current around +0.36 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) has been found to increase with the addition of 4-chloro-2-methoxyphenol (4C2M), as a substrate. Further, the degradation activity of laccase for 4C2M has been observed to be enhanced by applying an electrode potential of 0.5V in a degradation experiment, performed with an electrochemical reactor, employing the laccase-immobilized electrode. These results suggest the possibility that the substrate can be electrocatalytically degraded with the laccase-immobilized electrode, as developed in the present study.departmental bulletin pape
Motor-Control by Phase Locked Loop Implemented in Software
application/pdf論文(Article)We have developed a method for DC-motor control by PLL (Phase Locked Loop) implemented in software. PLL is a technique of electronic circuits which generates a signal identical with a reference signal. Usually it consists of a voltage controlled oscillator,a phase detector, and a low-pass filter. Rotation of a DC-motor is picked up by an optical interrupter. As a motor generates a signal controlled by a voltage applied, the motor works as the voltage controlled oscillator. The generated signal is compared with a reference signal by the phase detector and PWM-pulses are generated to drive the motor. All functions of PLL-components except a voltage controlled oscillator are realized not by electronic circuits but by softwares of a micro processor.departmental bulletin pape
The narrator recalls his “youth”-A Critique of Kokoro, a Novel Written by So^seki Natsume-
application/pdf論文(Article)In So^seki Natsume’s Kokoro, the narrator who writes the first and second of three parts of this novel makes frequent references to his youth, a time of his life when he was connected to Sensei. However, in focusing on this term, the reader must come to recognize that the narrator had already lost his “youth” and had become a sufficiently mature adult by the time he had written this novel. While Kokoro was written in 1914, approximately two years after Sensei wrote his last testament (1912), it is never revealed in the novel when the narrator wrote the first and second parts.Accordingly,an issue arises in that the reader is not sure whether he or she should regard the narrator as having still been young at the time of writing this novel or as having been in the process of recalling a distant past long after the death of Sensei at a time when the narrator was no longer young. This critique focuses on the narrator’s youth, such that interpretations of the novel are shown to vary depending on where the frame of reference is placed. It is also concluded that, if the narrator is thought to have already lost his youth at the time that he was writing his private papers, parallels could be drawn between this act and the inclusion in Sensei’s testament of his reminiscent attitude towards his school days.departmental bulletin pape
Generalized Dynamical Density Functional Theories
application/pdf論文(Article)The density functional theory of classical fluids and its dynamics, called the dynamical density functional theory (DDFT),are briefly reviewed. In particular, the two extreme versions of the DDFT, one of which is fully deterministic and another one is fully stochastic, are explained. We present a general formal frame work to interpolate between the two, which also produces many intervening versions of the DDFT. The method used is a generalizations of the Kawasaki-Gunton projection operator formalism. The theory is illustrated with a model of one Brownian particle moving in a classical fluid.departmental bulletin pape
Case Study: The Scope of “Third Parties” to whom Corporate Directors shall be Liable
application/pdf論文(Article)This paper reviews the judgment of the Tokyo High Court dated January 18, 2005 on the case in which damages were claimed against Snow Brand Foods Co., Ltd. One of the issues that had been under dispute with regard to the scope of the “third parties” specified in Article 266, Paragraph 3(1) of the Commercial Code before the amendment from 2005, was whether or not shareholders were included in these “third parties”. As far as the direct damage was concerned, the generally accepted theory was the shareholders were included in the “third parties”, as provided in Article 266, Paragraph 3(1) of the Commercial Code. However, there were differences of opinions with regard to the consequential damage. This paper focuses on the issue of whether or not shareholders should be included in the “third parties”. Judgment of the case in question is interesting in that, without flatly denying the possibility of the liability of directors for the consequential damage, it recognizes some exceptions to the non-liability of directors by using the phrase, “unless there are no particular circumstances”. While the author does not intend to argue against the judgment, some questions do remain concerning the reasoning. For instance, due to of its diversity, the consequential damage of the shareholders cannot be summarized in one sentence. In addition, different approaches should be used with large, publicly-held corporations, as opposed to small, privately-held companies. Accordingly, separate study is required for each case in question, by taking into consideration the actual situation. In conclusion, the matter as well as the actual circumstances of the damage suffered by the shareholders should be reviewed in each case and, depending on the circumstances, shareholders should be given the possibility to pursue the liability of directors, even for indirect damages, under Article 266, Paragraph 3(1) of the Commercial Code.departmental bulletin pape
A Study on Portfolio Selection Strategies for Stock Investment
application/pdf論文(Article)In the stock market, one of the aims of investors is to beat the market, i.e., to outperform the benchmarks such as Nikkei Average. This aim, however, is not easily achieved even by the professional fund managers. In this study, we propose an easy-practicing portfolio selection strategy, named D-10, to overcome the difficulty. Proposed D-10 strategy is an application of the Dow 10 strategy, which consists of buying the ten highest yielding Dow stocks and rebalancing annually, to Japanese stock market. Similar to the Dow 10 strategy, we propose here to buy the ten highest yielding Nikkei 225 stocks or TOPIX Core 30 stocks and rebalance the portfolio annually. Simulation results show that the strategy is effective.departmental bulletin pape
