On Multiple Wh-Questions ―A Top-Down Approach―
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)This paper deals with some issues of wh-questions. One of striking properties of the questions is that the so-called superiority effect arises in a multiple question when more than one wh-phrase is involved. We review some extant analyses of multiple questions, such as representational approaches based upon Empty Category Principle, Operator Disjoint Condition and Scope Marking Condition. One serious problem posed by these analyses is that none of them can capture the fact that ternary questions do not exhibit superiority effects. Ground States of a Magnet with Pyrochlore Structure Distorted in One Axis Direction -Effect of Second Neighbor Interaction -
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)Ground states of Co₂Cl(OH)₃ are investigated. This compound is a magnet with pyrochlore structure distorted in one axis direction. The magnetic structure at low temperature is coexistence of ferromagnetism and random spin, which was reported by experiments. However, the detailed mechanism and the interaction of the magnetic structure are not clarified. Then,we assumed an anisotropic Ising model,and examined the ground state by multicanonical Monte Carlo simulation. As the result, there are overwhelmingly many spin glass states,and main ground states are spin glass aspects. At the same time, there are only a few ferromagnetic states. The latter magnetic states are ferromagnetic at triangular layers and 2in 1out random state at Kagome layers. It is expected that the states correspond to the states reported by the experiments and are stabilized if weak ferromagnetic interactions exist between second nearest neighbor spins. Quadratic scaling functions for obtaining Normal vibrational wavenumbers from the B3LYP calculation
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)The normal vibrations were calculated for 256 molecules,whose 3803 normal vibrations were reasonably assigned, with the Gaussian03 program based on the B3LYP method using the basis sets of 6-311＋＋G(d,p), 6-311G(d,p), 6-31＋＋G(d,p), 6-31G(d,p) and 6-31G(d). Detailed analysis of the plots of the assigned vibrational wavenumbers against the calculated wavenumbers indicates that the relation between the calculated and observed vibrational wavenumbers is well expressed by a quadratic scaling function. The agreement between the observed and scaled wavenumbers by the proposed quadratic scaling function is satisfactory well.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)Alignment of superconducting thin plates,in order with edge to edge, under a perpendicular magnetic field. , gives influence on a configuration of shielding current front in each plate.In the case of inverse aspect ratio α＝0.01, and normalized interval between adjacent plates β＝2.01～3.0, two parameters, ∇and xf₀, included in an expression of the current front curve, are calculated numerically including current contributions up to the fifth adjacent plates. Effect of presence of adjacent plates is very large for β＝2.01 especially in very small magnetic field range, such that current region on x axis, 1－xf₀, spreads into an inner area 0.5×10³ times as fast as the case of a plate existed alone.departmental bulletin pape
Development of Transmission System of Solar Light by Optical System of which the Aberration is corrected
Get PDFapplication/pdf論文(Article)A system using a plastic Fresnel lens and an optical fiber is designed in order to utilize solar light for lighting. In this study,a device using a large caliber lens (φ400mm) system for collecting solar light is developed. However, the large aperture of the lens had two problems. One is that the luminous flux cannot intersect for the aberration at the focus. The other is overheating at the fiber end in the focal position of the lens. The former is solved by a lens system using a combination of three sheets in order to correct the aberration. The other is solved by the water-cooling fiber holder.departmental bulletin pape
