    A Study on the Japanese Teaching Method Based on the Nested (Ireko-Type) Structure Model

    application/pdf論文(Article)This paper is an attempt to propose a teaching method of analyzing Japanese syntax, originated by the author of these lines,by demonstrating that the teaching method is most effective and is readily learned by learners of Japanese. This teaching method is created on the basis of Motoki Tokieda’s notion of the nested (入子型)syntactic structure which is distinctively made up of content words(詞)and function words(辞). This teaching method helps learners of Japanese beware of Japanese syntactic structure as the distinctive Japanese syntactic feature. Thus, this method eventually helps to enable them to acquire practical skills of Japanese more readily than the conventional teaching methods do. A survey was made before and after the nested Japanese sentence structure was explained to the students. It turned out that they were better able to understand Japanese sentences after the explanation was made.departmental bulletin pape

    On Asymptotic Behavior of Electric Resistivity at Infinitesimal Electric Current in Glassy State of Superconducting Quantized Fluxoids I. Basic Formulations

    application/pdf論文(Article)The purpose of the present study is to answer the question: Does the electric resistivity, ρ, approach zero as the applied electric current approaches zero, in the glassy state of the quantized fluxoids in a type 2 superconductor? The best method for answering the above question by experimental studies may be to measure the relaxation process of the induced electric field, E, during ultra-long time in the concerning material. This kind of measurements are, however, very hard to perform, and hence, we tried to answer the above question by a theoretical approach. In this paper, we propose the starting basic equations to investigate the present problem by a theoretical analysis or by numerical calculations, because we have at present no established reliable theoretical formulation for describing the ultra-long time relaxation process in the glassy state.departmental bulletin pape

    application/pdf論文(Article)This paper argues that wh-scope marking and its cross-linguistic variation are explained as a consequence of wh-feature percolation of a wh-phrase and specification of EPP(Extended Projection Principle)-feature in the phase head. The wh-feature of a wh-phrase percolates up to the head of the phrase where Q-feature is specified and the wh-scope of a wh-phrase is marked by the wh-feature percolation and its association with Q-feature. This whpercolation is observed in all natural languages. Successive cyclic movement of a wh-phrase occurs by specification of EPP-feature in the head of phases which is associated with the wh-feature of a wh-phrase. Wh-movement depends on association between EPP-feature and the wh-feature of a wh-phrase which percolates up to the head of the phrase where Q-feature is specified.departmental bulletin pape

    Intensity Change of Scattering Light during the Gelation of Polyacrylamide Hydrogel

    application/pdf論文(Article)The gelation process of the polyacrylamide hydrogel is investigated. Some properties of the solvent in gels are very similar to those of the solvent in free solution, but some properties are not. The author is interested in the similarities and the differences between these two states, gel and solution, and have investigated some properties of gels and pre-gel solutions. When the molecular structures of polyacrylamide hydrogels during gelation reaction were investigated by means of Raman scattering, the change of intensity not owing to the molecular structure was observed. The author investigates the intensity changes of Rayleigh scattering light which may occur during the gelation process. He-Ne laser, Ar⁺ ion laser, or halogen lamp are used as the light source, and the scattering light is monitored by the small spectrophotometer with CCD. The intensity of scattering light increases abruptly after some duration time. It is suggested that the abrupt increase coincides with the gelation or polymer network formation. The intensity of Rayleigh scattering light increases abruptly owing to the abrupt change of the microstructure of the solution.departmental bulletin pape

    application/pdf論文(Article)The magnetic state of geometrically frustrated compound, pyrochlore like atacamite Mn₂Br(OH)₃ is investigated by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. At low temperature phase, the magnetic state is the antiferromagnetically ordering state with some randomness. Around transition point, 2.4K, only some part of magnetic moments order. With decreasing temperature the number of ordering moments increases rapidly. The ferromagnetically ordering moments coexist with antiferromagnetically ordering moments. The magnetic state of Mn₂Br(OH)₃ obtained by present NMR measurements is different from that of the similar compound,Mn₂Cl(OH)₃.departmental bulletin pape

    Synthesis of semiconducting nanosheet liquid crystals from a layered perovskite KCa₂Nb₃O₁₀

    application/pdf論文(Article)We identified the liquid crystal phase in the aqueous colloid of Ca₂Nb₃O10⁻ nanosheets, which were synthesized by exfoliation of the smiconducting layered perovskite KCa₂Nb₃O₁₀. The nanosheets were obtained in the highest yield when HCa₂Nb₃O₁₀ was allowed to react with the exfoliating reagent (tetrabutylammonium; TBA⁺)in the molar ratio of TBA⁺: HCa₂Nb₃O₁₀=10:1, followed by washing the sample for 6 times with water. When the nanosheet colloid (1.7wt%) was observed by crossed polarizers, the interference colors due to permanent birefringence was observed; this observation clearly confirmed the liquid crystallinity of this system. On the other hand, birefringence was not observed in the colloid of 0.4wt.%, indicating that the colloid is isotropic. In this dilute colloid, however, birefringence was temporarily observed when the nanosheet colloid was flowed. The liquid crystalline nanosheet colloid absorbed UV light with the wavelength smaller than 280nm, due to the semiconducting property of the nanosheet with the bandgap of 4.4eV.departmental bulletin pape
