Study of Droplet Breakup of Diesel Fuel Spray near Nozzle Exit
application/pdf論文(Article)A laser 2-focus velocimeter (L2F) was used for measurements of velocity and size of droplets inside diesel sprays intermittently injected into the atmosphere by using 8-hole injector nozzle. The diameter of the nozzle orifice was 0.125mm. The rail pressure was set at 60 MPa, and the injection quantity was set at 4mm3/injection. Measurement plane was located at 10 mm downstream from the nozzle exit. The spray image was taken by the high-speed camera, and the spray width was evaluated by using spray image. The spray width was large at the early period of injection duration. The size of droplets was small at the time when the spray width was large. It became clear that there was a negative correlation between the spray width and the size of droplets.departmental bulletin pape
Stratified Features in MoodP and the Relation between Fin and them
According to the analysis based on the cartography, the functional categories in the left peripheral area of the cartography have their own discourse function. Based on the cartography analysis, this paper shows the possibility of occurrence of a projection called “MoodP” above FinP in the left periphery of clauses. The MoodP bears function of expressing speaker’s mood or modality concerning uncertainty, subjunctive mood, presupposition, emotion, tense, and negation. Both mood and modality involve their own features in MoodP and undergo feature inheritance from MoodP to T (in the case of negation, the head of NegP). These features are stratified as Emotion > Subjunctive Mood > Presupposition > Tense > Negation. The complementizer that in English has various functions and can serve as an overt marker of mood such as emotion, subjunctive mood, presupposition, tense, and negation in the head of FinP despite the same morpheme as the subordinator that.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape
Development of Highly Catalytically Active Bimetallic Nanoparticle Formation in Porous SiO2 by Supercritical Fluid-assisted Immobilization
application/pdf論文(Article)The supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) for the impregnation and deposition of metal nanoparticles are effective for uniformly decorating and impregnating porous materials. In this work, Cu-Ru bimetallic nanoparticles were successfully immobilized in the mesopores of hierarchical porous SiO2 by using scCO2-acetone solution. STEM-EDX mapping measurements demonstrated that Cu and Ru atoms were homogeneously scattered in mesopores of hierarchical porous SiO2. The resulting Cu-Ru@SiO2 exhibited high activity. The catalytic activity of bimetallic Cu-Ru@SiO2 for CO oxidation was higher than that of monometallic Cu@SiO2, Ru@SiO2 and [email protected] bulletin pape

Orientation Measurement by Using Inertial Measurement Sensor for Freehand 3D Ultrasound
application/pdf論文(Article)The freehand 3D ultrasound is useful technique to acquire 3D ultrasound volume using a conventional 2D ultrasound transducer. The technique constructs 3D volume using 2D image and positional information. Meanwhile, it has two technical issues to widely apply in clinical setting. Firstly, position sensor is expensive and needs to prepare for use. Another is high computational cost in volume construction. To address the issue, orientation measurement by a low-cost inertial measurement sensor and highspeed volume construction using parallel computing technology by a graphics processing unit were proposed. In this study, the potential of this approach is investigated and 3D volume reconstruction was demonstrated.departmental bulletin pape
Development of Analyzer that can Evaluate Breakup of Droplet of Diesel Fuel Spray near Nozzle Exit
application/pdf論文(Article)The high-pressure fuel generator was developed for the generation of high-pressure fuel spray. When the target pressures of common rail at the high-pressure fuel generator were set at 60, 80, 100 and 120 MPa, and the mean pressures of actual pressure of common rail were 60.04, 80.04, 100.10 and 119.85MPa respectively. Moreover, the measurement system, that is, a laser
2-focus velocimeter (L2F) was developed for the evaluation of breakup of droplet inside the diesel fuel spray. The L2F has a micro-scale measuring volume which consisted of two foci. The focal diameter was about 3 μm, and the distance between two foci was 20 μm. The velocity and size of droplets inside the spray can be measured by using L2F. The maximum data sampling rate of the L2F system was markedly high as 15 MHz.departmental bulletin pape
Development of the Ring-type Non-invasive Continuous Blood Pressure Monitoring System -A Pilot Study on the Determination Method of Mean Arterial Pressure Based on the Volume Clamp Method Using the Modified Normalized Pulse Volume-
application/pdf論文(Article)Along with the development of non-invasive techniques for the high accuracy measurement of blood pressure on the finger, the investigation of finger pulse volume (PV) variability has been attracted considerable interest. Modified normalized pulse volume (mNPV) has the potential to be a practical index for the determination method of mean arterial pressure (MAP) based on the volume clamp method due to its very sensitive to vasoconstrictor stimuli on the finger. However, MAP derived by mNPV has not yet been investigated. Therefore, we compared MAP measured by sphygmomanometer as a reference, with MAP derived by the PV and mNPV using the developed prototype system during baseline in ten young subjects. The results gave mean differences in Bland-Altman plots between the measured MAP and MAP derived by PV and mNPV of 1.86 ± 6.49 (standard deviation) and -2.54 ± 8.12, respectively. mNPV is discussed in terms of the availability for determination of MAP based on VCM. In conclusion, mNPV is a valid approach, which might be useful for the calibration index of MAP derived by PV.departmental bulletin pape
Study on Upset Forging with Rocking Motion by Using Multiple Linear Actuators
application/pdf論文(Article)In order to reduce forging load, we focused on the reduction of contact area with forging dies and proposed a new method with the flexible rocking motions created by using multiple linear actuators. A cylindrical specimens of annealed pure aluminum was compressed between flat dies up to a half of the initial height, in which a rocking motion was applied to the lower die in the latter half of the compression. The forging load was reduced by up to approximately 45% compared with the conventional upsetting. The reduction of load increased with increasing the rocking angle and its frequency.departmental bulletin pape
Modification of Mesoporous Silica Surface with Single Stranded DNA -Toward Molecular Robots Controlled by DNA Signal-
application/pdf論文(Article)The outer surface of mesoporous silica (MCM-41) particles was modified with ssDNA attached with FAM (fluorescent moiety) and gate control of the pores was investigated. Infrared spectra confirmed the successful modification of MCM-41 with the ssDNA via 4 synthetic steps. To close the pore gate, the surface ssDNA was hybridized with linker ssDNA having complementary base sequence on both ends. The pore gate was then opened again by hybridization with the ssDNA having complementary base sequence only on one end and BHQ-1(fluorescence quencher) on the other end. The gate opening process was confirmed by observing the fluorescence quenching of the FAM on the surface-modified ssDNA caused by the BHQ-1.departmental bulletin pape
Study on Electrical Discharge Machining with Peeling Tool-Modification of EDM Machine and Microhole Drilling-
application/pdf論文(Article)A peeling tool, a thin wire electrode coated with a different material, has been developed as a microelectrode in micro-EDM. Tungsten wire of 50-μm diameter is used as the core and zinc is electroplated on the core. The EDM machine was improved to easily detect a bubble appeared at rear surface of the workpiece. The fabricated peeling tool was analyzed for surface roughness and eccentricity. The microhole drilling for Fe plate of 100 μm thickness was carried out using by the peeling tool with 50-μm core.departmental bulletin pape
