1939–1940 m. NKVD specialiųjų lagerių karo belaisvių pėdsakais. Su Vilniaus kraštu susiję atrinkti skaičiai
The NKVD murder of the defenders of the Polish borders, in accordance with the decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of the Soviet Union of 5 March 1940, is still an open topic, full of secrets. Despite the passage of 85 years since the crime, many documents have not yet been handed over to the Polish side. First of all, there are no archives that would allow us to establish the names of all those murdered and indicate the location of the burials of all the victims. So far, the names of all those detained sent from the NKVD camps in Kozelsk, Starobelsk and Ostashkov for investigation, from which they did not return, and those whose lives were spared, have not been established either. In all these groups there were people of different nationalities, religions and professions. In Soviet documents, many inaccuracies concern people who are of Lithuanian nationality in various censuses. Despite the passage of time, we can only speak of traces of some of them, who were recorded in the statistics of camp records and among the survivors. It should be remembered that although it is important to determine the number of victims of the Soviet authorities’ policy, the most important thing is what was experienced, the fate of the citizens of the Second Polish Republic murdered in violation of all international laws and those few who were spared their lives, who remained under the supervision of the security services until the end of their days.NKVD įvykdytas Lenkijos pasienio sargybinių nužudymas, remiantis 1940 m. kovo 5 d.
Deconstructing Textual Reality: rhizomatic writing as a disposition of Postmodern literary reflection
The article draws on a Deleuzoguattarian view of the rhizome to examine literary connections within postmodern novels as multiple, non-linear, and non-hierarchical structures. Two symptomatic texts – Alexandar Hemonʼs The Lazarus Project (2008) and Markus Zusak’s Bridge of Clay (2018) – have been explored through a rhizomatic reading to illustrate how these novels embody the principles of the rhizome as a disposition of postmodern thinking. The stories demonstrate a distinctive form of rhizomatic writing characterised by fragmentation, the imitation of chaotic composition, the blending of various genre elements, and the inclusion of different types of art (intermediality). Moreover, the article focuses on the rhizomatic transformations of time that shape the literary landscape within the novels, addressing concepts of the pre-past, past, present, and future via the past. A rhizomatic way of creating fiction texts actualises the idea of interdisciplinarity as the topical project in the humanities. By employing the concept of the rhizome, the article engages with the deconstructive potential of postmodern literature and the dispositional mode of its representation
Investigation of Interplay of Meaning of Work, Job Pride, and Job Performance on Turnover Intention: Evidence from Millennial Bankers in Central Java, Indonesia
Retaining millennial employees in the workforce is a pressing challenge for organizations. Therefore, this research aimed to investigate the interconnections between the meaning of work, job pride, and job performance, and how job pride and job performance impacted turnover intention of millennials. Cross-sectional surveys of 250 banking employees in Central Java, Indonesia, collected through a multistage sampling procedure were used. In addition, Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) was used to analyze these associations. The results showed significant positive associations among the meaning of work, job pride, and job performance. However, results proposed that job pride and job performance did not negatively affect turnover intention. This research contributed valuable theoretical understanding of the concept of the meaning of work for millennials and offered practical implications for banking managers in human resource management
The Process of Empowering the Artist in the Art Market
The accessibility and purchase of artwork these days open up more opportunities for artists to exhibit, sell their work on a larger scale and gain recognition. However, simultaneously, there is high competition between all participants in the art market. Not knowing how to start, the creator faces challenges and obstacles to becoming a well-known art representative. In this case, artists can be helped by art galleries, which allow creators to show their creations and provide other support. In that instance, the gallery plays a role in empowering the artist to participate in the art market. Thus, this study aims to explore the process of empowering an artist to participate in the art market. It is important to understand how this process works and helps artists’ careers, so the presentation includes the results of research on artists and galleries, models, the empowerment process and emerging problems
Process Management Tools for Operation Efficiency in Logistics: Case Study
In the context of increasing complexity in global supply chains, effective process management has become a crucial determinant of operational efficiency in large-scale logistics companies. This study aims to assess the impact of an advanced process management system, introduced in 2022 within one of the largest logistics enterprises, with the objective of optimising internal communication and streamlining operations. Utilising a rigorous analytical framework, the research demonstrates significant improvements in information flow, transparency, and organisational clarity. The system has shown notable efficacy in key areas, including the implementation of quality and environmental policies, the optimisation of core operational processes, and the enhancement of management documentation. The findings suggest that process management contributes substantially to the achievement of higher operational efficiency and process optimisation. Furthermore, this study offers practical recommendations that may guide similar organisations in improving their logistical performance through systematic process management innovations
Encourage of Sustainable Business – Approaches for Increasing of the Scale and Impact Over Natural Tourism in Shumen Municipality
Many companies have made their reorganisation and optimisation of the resources led by two main reasons – lowering production costs and decreasing production pollution. In this period of transition, there are still new opportunities for clear, responsible and sustainable business using natural resources. As the technological world advances, people increasingly need tranquillity and to live in sync with nature. Sustainable business practices are crucial for the long-term success of natural tourism. By prioritizing environmental protection, social responsibility, and economic viability, businesses can ensure that tourism benefits both visitors and the destinations they explore. The subject of the article is the development of a new thermal spring complex in Marash, Shumen province, Bulgaria, as an opportunity for establishing a recognisable place for health and sustainability
Lietuvos vaikų chirurgų draugijos kasmetinė konferencija. Tezių knyga
Lithuanian Society of Paediatric Surgeons was founded in 1994 and organises conference annually. The first conference after the presidency returned to Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos was dedicated to multisystem trauma as a leading cause of paediatric mortality. Reports from most centres of paediatric surgery were presented together with invited lectures on head trauma, maxillofacial surgery, trauma team activation protocol, war medicine and legal aspects of paediatric surgery. The Abstract Book includes reports on the most complicated cases encountered by paediatric surgeons recently.
Corpora are being increasingly used as a digital medium for language work in practical environments and, consequently, as a digital learning tool in foreign language learning. This has given rise to the relatively new area of corpus didactics within media pedagogy for German as a Foreign Language. This article explores the possibilities of the corpus-based approach to learning languages for specific purposes and its potential advantages in comparison to other digital tools, with a particular focus on legal language. The corpus GeLeCo (German Legal Corpus) is used to illustrate corpus-based methods in LSP didactics.By using the example of intertextual markers in court decision, the study investigates whether and in what ways corpora might offer advantages over machine translation tools and AI chatbots when translating legal texts. The analysis of linguistic means in the corpus GeLeCo shows that the linguistic means used in court decisions to reference other legal texts differ in frequency from those produced by translation engines. These findings provide the foundation for didactic considerations and the development of teaching scenarios and tasks designed to raise awareness of learners in law-related GFL learning of the limitations of automated translation tools and chatbots. While such tools might roughly reproduce the general content of a legal text, they often fail to capture the nuanced legal formulations that are critical for professional legal communication.
How to annotate a corpus for research on frames in the language of mathematics
This paper outlines a plan for designing a corpus-linguistic project from which an analysis of frames specific to mathematical proof texts shall be derived. Previous work has already developed instances of frames for mathematical texts. We have argued that these frames are well suited to model how background knowledge enriches explicitly given information. To this end, a collection of mathematical texts needs to be annotated. We describe the idea behind the corpus annotation, frame semantics and how we adapted frames for mathematical texts in particular by distinguishing between structural proof frames and ontological ones. Ontological frames for instance correspond to proof techniques, while structural frames model domain knowledge like exact definitions of mathematical structures. We describe annotation principles, explain qualifications annotators should have and how such annotations can be evaluated. We explain potential linguistic research questions: The corpus will allow us to study the linguistic means by which frames are introduced and signaled. We plan to generalize beyond previous case-based analyses and to provide a foundation for broader empirical research on mathematical language and practice. We argue that these can be used in deeper semantic parsing and the development of interactive theorem-proving software. We furthermore assume that this perspective on mathematical text will also have implications on the philosophy of mathematics and its practice
