The Impact of MLM-STEM on Temperature and Heat Material in Students' Critical Thinking Skills
This study aims to measure the effectiveness of MLM-STEM on temperature and heat materials on students' critical thinking skills. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. Research data were analyzed using normalized average gain, t-test, and effect size. Based on the analysis conducted, it is known that (1) the critical thinking skills in the experimental class are in the high category, while in the control class they are in the moderate category, (2) the critical thinking skills of the experimental class students using MLM-STEM are higher than the control class using electronic textbooks, (3) there is a significant difference between the improvement of critical thinking skills in the experimental class and the control class, and (4) students respond positively to the use of MLMSTEM in learning. Therefore, it can be said that MLM-STEM is a solution to improve students' critical thinking skills. Development of Predict-Observe-Explain Oriented e-Module as a Learning Media to Improve Students’ Problem Solving Skills
This study aimed to develop POE oriented E-Module with Flip Pdf Professional to practice students’ critical thinking skill on environmental changes materials which is valid, practical, and effective. The subject of this study is the students in grade X IPA5 in SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. This study is a research and development. The result of this study revealed that the validity test based on the expert validation analysis (content and construction) and practitioners’ validation (teachers) obtained the x score respectively 96%, 95%, and 95% (very valid). Practicality test as the result of the implementation of teaching and learning, students’ activities and responses obtained x score respectively 100%, 89.28%-92.85%, 95% (very practical). The effectiveness test based on the analysis of N-Gain score in a small group obtained a score as big as 0.78 (effective). It can be concluded that the POE oriented E-Module with Flip Pdf Professional to practice students’ critical thinking skill is considered valid, practical, and effective to be used in Biology class for Grade X in SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. Game-Based Learning Application in Chemistry Learning: A Systematic Literature Review
Game-based learning attention to the design of learning and game that can help the learning process be fun, creative, innovative, and not boring. This research aimed to review empirical research articles in chemistry learning using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method is to identify, analyze, and interpret the findings on the research topic published from 2017 to 2021. Twelve articles were identified through a search engine providing international and national journal pages that could be accessed using ERIC and Scopus databases. The articles studied in terms of objectives, learning design, and game implementation in learning. The results review focuses on increasing knowledge, understanding concepts, learning outcomes, critical thinking, motivation, emotions, literacy, and student independence. Using digital games is more widely applied in chemistry learning because of interest in educational technology having a better evaluation of the subject matter studied and the achievement of a deeper understanding.Keywords: game-based learning, chemistry learning, literature review. Development of e-Module in Learning Ecosystem to Foster Thinking Skills of Junior High School Students
The aim of this study is to develop a flipped-classroom-based e-module through validity, practicality, and effectiveness test. The method employed in this study is research and development (R&D) with several steps undergone i.e. planning, product development, validity test, revision, and small- and big-scales try-out. The result of this study revealed that the e module had been very valid based on the input given by the content and media experts with approximate score 91.76% to 98.40%. The practicality on teacher’s and students’ activity for the whole meeting reached the approximate score 84.44% to 98.10% which is very practical. Students’ response on the response on the questionnaire reached the highest score as big as 94.07% which was very good. On the effectiveness test, there was an increase on students’ solo taxonomy level. It can be seen from the pre-test which was initially on the pre-structural (59.17%) and uni-structural (40.83%) level elevated to the multi-structural (85%) and relational (12.50%) level during the post-test. The evaluation on the mockup product, the range score on each group is around 83.53 to 90.59 which is very good. It can be concluded that the flipped classroom based e-module had fulfilled the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness to foster students’ thinking skill in SMP Islam Pagimana. Development of a Multiplication Learning Media for Primary School Mathematics using Multiple Math Card
This study aims to develop MATHCA (Multiple Math Card) learning media in multiplication material of elementary school grade III. The background of this research is that there are no learning media in the form of cards that have been developed specifically by combining a learning system with a game in the form of cards. The method used in the Research and Development (R&D) uses the method Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The subjects in the study were third-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Cisantana, Cigugur district, Kuningan Regency. The result showed that media MATHCA was very valid base on the calculation result of media experts, with an average score of 98%, material experts with an average score of 92%, and linguists with an average score of 92%. The result of the practicality test of teachers obtained an average score of 90%, and the results of trials conducted in small groups obtained 96,6%, and in large group, trials obtained a score of 91,1%, this indicates a high level of practicality category in both groups. Thus, it can be concluded that MATHCA learning media that was developed using the ADDIE model is valid and practical to be applied to mathematics learning. Development of a Simple and Low-Cost Light Diffraction Props for Teaching and Learning Optics during Covid-19 Outbreak
The Covid-19 pandemic forces the learning process to be carried out in a blended learning manner that combines face-to-face and synchronous learning.This study aims to share the implementation of experiments that we have carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially on optics material for high schools involving prospective physics teacher students. This study uses a descriptive research method with the research subject being Physics Education students, FKIP University of Lampung, with a sample of 2017 Physics Education students who are taking Optics lectures.The results of this study are in the form of optical learning media that have been designed by students while attending lectures with distinctive characteristics made from low cost material and using simple technologies. This study proves that physics experiments can be carried out by utilizing learning media in the form of low-cost material teaching aids. In addition, physics experiments can be carried out directly without a complicated preparation. Learning activities that utilize this kind of teaching aids will certainly train students' science process skills, procedural knowledge and conceptual knowledge that is improved through hands-on activities and mind-on activities during the learning process. Evaporation Analysis in Mushroom Cultivation Houses as an e-Module Supplementary Material to Enhance High School Students' Understanding of Physics Concepts
In majority, cultivation of oyster mushroom is carried out indoors, that the room was generally mentioned as mushroom cultivation house. One of physics concept that play a big role is evaporation. Evaporation itself known as a complex process that involves many physical quantities. It has been observed that in several schools in Jember, the explanations about evaporation, as one of discussion inside the unit of temperature and heat, were still non contextual and tended to be incomprehensible. This research aimed to describe the physics concept of evaporation that applied inside mushroom cultivation house, then design a supplementary e-module based the analysis as physics learning material. To measure the evaporation values that occur inside mushroom cultivation house, FAO-Penman Monteith evapotranspiration formula was chosen. For the supplementary e-module that has been designed, here is also validated by experts. EduChem Hidrokarbon: A Green Chemistry Based Discovery Learning Media on Hydrocarbon Nomenclature
This study aims to develop Educhem Hydrocarbons based on Green Chemistry using the Discovery learning learning model on the nomenclature of hydrocarbon compounds. This study applies the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Brog and Gall approach. The research sample amounted to 44 students of class XI. The instruments used are validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, pretest posttest questions and student activity observations. The results show that the learning media is declared valid with a validity value of 93.93%, practical with a small scale of 89.76% and 93.53% of a large scale. The effectiveness of the media based on the value of small-scale N-gain 0.71 and large-scale N-gain 0.73. The effectiveness based on student activities on a small scale is 90.71% and a large scale is 92.99%. This shows that the Educhem Hydrocarbons learning media based on Green Chemistry is declared suitable to be used as a learning resource on the subject of nomenclature of hydrocarbon compounds. Development of Acid-Base E-Module Based on Contextual Approach with REACT Strategy to Improve Students’ Learning Outcomes
This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of e-modules based on a contextual approach with a REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Collaborating, Transferring) strategy on acid-base materials.This development is a type of EDR (Educational Design Research) research with a plomp research model. Lecturers and teachers act as expert reviews, and 9 students become research subjects in this development research. The data obtained in the form of content validity, construct, linguistic and graphic data were processed using the AIken's V formula, while the practicality data was processed using practical percent. Based on the results of the study, the V value for content validity was 0.84, construct validity was 0.83, linguistic validity was 0.84 and graphic validity was 0.87, which were included in the valid category. Beliefs, Actual Practices, and Perceptions on the Implementation of 4C Skills Integrated STEM Curriculum in Online Mathematics and Science Learning
This study tried to find out about beliefs, actual practices, and perceptions of educators and students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Indonesia on online education they experienced. The study focused on 4C skills being embedded in STEM curriculum implemented to some courses. The samples were 17 courses including corresponding educators and students who enrolled the courses. Data were collected by observing activities in LMS and synchronous web meeting and by giving questionnaires to the educators and the students. The results informed that educators and students were able to adjust and adapt to online learning with some shortcomings. Educators’ belief that good online courses with 4C skills-integrated STEM curriculum is possible to conduct with some refinements. Students were able to follow courses which include 4C skills with the context of basic STEM knowledge.
