    The Role of Laboratory Activities on Laundry Industry Waste Pollution to Improve Problem Solving skills: Teacher's Perception

    This study aims to describe the teacher's perception of problem-solving-based laboratory activities to improve the problem-solving skills of junior high school. This study involved 30 science teachers in Lampung. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire, then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The survey results show that 65% of science teachers have not carried out problem-solving-based laboratory activities in their learning activities. This is due to several factors including teachers not being able to manage time in learning activities and limited tools and materials in school laboratories. Whereas on environmental pollution material for class VII of Junior High School, students can be invited to carry out laboratory activities based on solving real problems such as water pollution by laundry industrial waste.     Development of Blended Learning-Oriented Worksheets to Train Students Metacognitive Skills on The Rate of Reaction Material

    During the Covid-19 pandemic, blended learning became one of the innovations in learning. This study aims to develop blended learning-oriented worksheets to train students' metacognitive skills on the rate of reaction material. This research method uses the ADDIE model. The instruments used are validation sheets, pre-test and post-test sheets of metacognitive skills, student response questionnaire, student activity observation sheets, and metacognitive inventory questionnaires. The research subjects were 15 students of class XI-MIPA 6 SMAS Al Islam Krian. The student worksheets produced are very valid, with the average content and construct validation results being 87-88%. The practicality of worksheets gets a percentage > 81%, which is a very practical category. The effectiveness of worksheets is obtained based on the N-Gain score of pre-test and post-test gets moderate and high results.     What Methods are used for Statistical Reasoning Learning?: A Systematic Literature Review

    A student’s statistical reasoning ability is needed as a good and precise foundation, so that a teacher is demanded to use the proper methods to improve students’ statistical reasoning. This research aims to know the appropriate methods used to improve students’ statistical reasoning ability and the methods' steps. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is employed in three steps. The SLR stages are carried out in three stages, namely Planning the Review, Conducting the Review, Reporting and Disseminating. Article searching by using Harzing’s Publish or Perish Application and data analysis using atlas.ti with coding Histoorical Background, Context Solution, Research Questions or Objectives, Methodology, Conclusions, and Findings. The findings of statistical reasoning learning are Statistical Reasoning Learning Environment (SRLE), Experiential Learning, Blended Learning, 4MAT learning style system, and Brain-based Learning.     Development of Peer-Scaffolding-Based Learning Program to Train the Performance Assessment Ability of Prospective Science Teacher

    The aim of the research is to develop a peer scaffolding-based learning program to equip prospective science teacher students with the ability to develop performance appraisals. This program was developed using a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), the development of which has reached the stage of feasibility testing (Develop). Data collection techniques with questionnaires to measure the validity of the feasibility of learning programs and essay tests for the ability to develop performance appraisals. The results of this study indicate that the learning program developed got an average score of 4.00 (very valid category) in all aspects of feasibility. The results of the program trial show that there is an increase in student abilities seen from their N-gain (0.41: moderate criteria). Improvement in the aspect of the ability to understand the scope of the assessment with “low” criteria (0.036), planning an assessment with “medium” criteria (0.72).     Cognitive Conflict-Based Conceptual Change Model on Concept Mastery & Student Self-regulation

    This study aims to determine the effect of the conceptual change model with a cognitive conflict approach on concept mastery & self-regulation of class X students in biology subjects. The quasi-experimental method with posttest only controls group design. The research population is students of class X Mathematics & Natural Sciences, class X Mathematics & Natural Sciences 1 as the experimental class, & X Mathematics & Natural Sciences 2 as the control class. Data collection techniques with concept mastery tests & self-regulation questionnaires. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test. Based on the results of the study, the average value of mastery of concepts in the experimental class was 71.14, & the control class was 65.52. The average self regulation in the experimental class was 73.29, in the control class it was 65.91. Independent sample t-test test shows that p-value> 0.05.     Students' Critical Thinking Disposition in Working on Numeration Problems

    This study aims to describe the critical thinking disposition of students in working on numeracy problems. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive research type. The instruments used are numeracy questions, student questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The subjects of this study were three grade IX students of one of the junior high schools in Kediri Regency, East Java, with high, medium, and low categories. The results showed that: (1) students in the high category met the indicators of critical thinking, curiosity, open-mindedness, systematic, analytical, truth-seeking, and self-confidence; (2) students in the medium category meet the indicators of critical thinking, curiosity, open thinking, systematic, and analytical; (3) students with low category meet the indicators of critical thinking, curiosity, and open thinking.     Evaluating the Numeracy Cognitive Level of Indonesian Elementary School Students using the Minimum Competency Assessment

    This study aims to describe the achievement of the numeracy cognitive level of elementary school students on a minimum competency assessment. The population of this study were fifth grade students at C-accredited elementary school in Lampung province. The sample of this study selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a level 2 numeracy test instrument developed by the Center for Evaluation and Learning of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using the Mann-Whitney test. It was concluded that: a) students’ category of numeracy ability was “competent” (mean score 43.04); b) there is no significant difference between the numeracy abilities of male and female students; c) the highest percentage of correct answers was matching type questions (62.9%); and d) the lowest cognitive level was achieved is in the measurement concept which was only 28.6. Keywords: elementary school students, minimum competency assessment, numeracy cognitive level. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i2.pp428-43

    The Effect of Prior Knowledge and Learning Motivation on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Junior High School Students

    This research aimed to analyze the effect of prior knowledge and learning motivation on the mathematics achievement of junior high school students. This research is a correlational study involving 30 respondents who were taken by cluster random sampling technique. The research instrument consisted of a prior knowledge test and a learning motivation questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression tests. The results showed that prior knowledge had a strong effect on mathematics achievement (correlation level 0.739) and learning motivation had a very strong effect on mathematics achievement (correlation level 0.806). The results of the multiple regression test show that the prior knowledge and learning motivation simultaneously strongly influence students' mathematics achievement (correlation level 0.837).     Development of Pretest-Posttest Assessment Based on Coffee Peel Utilization Project to Measure Students Creative Thinking Skills

    This study aims to develop a project-based pretest-posttest assessment of the use of coffee husks. This study used the research and development method of the ADDIE model until the development stage. At the analysis stage, a literature study and a preliminary study were conducted. At the design stage, planning and preparation of an initial draft in the form of a pretest-posttest assessment were carried out. In the development stage, two science education experts validated the suitability of the content and construction of the pretest-posttest assessment with Torrance's creative thinking skills indicator framework. The product of the validation results was then responded to the suitability of the content and construction aspects of creative thinking skills indicators by the three science teachers. The results of expert validation and teacher responses indicated that the pretest-posttest assessment instrument product is very suitable to be used to measure students' creative thinking skills in integrated learning based on coffee peel utilization projects.Keywords: pretest-posttest assessment, coffee peel utilization projects, creative thinking. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp13-2

    Bibliometric Analysis of Students' Errors in Solving Problems on Sets using VOSviewer

    Learning error can be interpreted as a certain condition marked by errors when someone completes a test. One of the causes of students' mistakes in answering questions is the lack of understanding of the concepts in the material. Research on student errors in solving problems related to set material uses the bibliometric method, which is still rarely done before. This research is indexed from Scholar with 500 articles obtained and extracted in the Publish or Perished (PoP) application. The articles obtained were published from 0 to 2022. The articles with the most article citations with 1837 citations occurred in 2020. After that, it was continued by visualizing the network, the number of cluster items was 10 red, 6 green and 4 blue, overlay and density by using the VOSviewer application.
