    Development of Students’ e-Worksheet on Environmental Change using PRIMA Learning Model to Improve Science Process Skills

    This study objective was to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Blended Learning-based Student Worksheets on environmental change materials using the PRIMA Learning model in improving Science Process Skills. This study was conducted at SMA State 1 Batudaa Pantai Senior High School and employed ADDIE development model. The result demonstrated that the developed blended learning-based worksheets were valid for use in schools with the assessment result from validators in the score range of 89.2% - 91.7% (extremely valid). Students’ worksheet practicality can be observable from several stages, including student activities, learning implementation, student responses’ results with an average value of 91.25%, 100%, 93% (perfectly acceptable). Further, Students’ worksheet effectiveness test based on the N-Gain score obtained a result of 0.68 (Effective), and the percentage N-Gain value (%) is 68 (moderately effective).In conclusion, the said learning is valid, practical, and effective in learning biology in class X SMA 1 Batudaa Pantai Senior High School.Keywords: students’ worksheet, environmental change, science process skills.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1337-134

    Math-Oriented Critical Thinking Skills of Elementary School Students Viewed from Cognitive Style

    The tendency to develop critical thinking skills has been carried out for a long time starting from the definition, indicators of mathematical critical thinking, and the practice of developing critical thinking. Critical thinking can be developed both individually and classically through learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze qualitatively the mathematical critical thinking process of SD Muhammadiyah Manyar students in terms of cognitive style. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The results of the analysis obtained students with FD cognitive style more than students with FI cognitive style. From the difference in numbers, it is in line with the analysis of the learning process where students need more teacher instruction in completing assignments.     Development of Interactive e-Learning Media on Environmental Pollution using Prezi

    This study aims to develop an interactive learning media application based on Prezi. The methodology used in this study is the ADDIE method with a sample of class VII students. Data collection techniques were carried out through media experts and material experts including media and material expert validation questionnaires, student observation sheets, interview sheets, pretest-posttest sheets and response questionnaires. The results showed that the application of Prezi-based learning media had a media feasibility effect of 95% with very decent criteria and 95% on Prezi-based learning outcomes, with very good criteria.     Using Jigsaw Learning Model to Improve Collaboration and Communication Skills of High School Students on Environmental Change

    21st century learning must be designed according to the 4C skills, namely critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. One that is needed in learning is communication. In addition to communication skills, collaboration skills are needed. One strategy that can be designed by teachers to be able to improve collaboration and communication skills is by implementing a jigsaw type of cooperative learning model. This study aims to improve students' collaboration and communication skills by applying the jigsaw learning model to environmental change material. The research method is descriptive quantitative. The true experimental design of the posttest-only control design was applied to this study. Analysis with t-test. The results of the average score obtained by the ability of collaboration in the experimental class 81 and the results of the average value of 89 communication skills are included in the very effective category. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the jigsaw type cooperative learning model can improve students' collaboration and communication skills on environmental change.     The Effect of Discovery Learning on Students’ Conceptual Understanding of Cell

    This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning on cell material on students' concept comprehension of class XI. In this study, the quantitative research method used quasi-experiments and a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used in the research consisted of learning materials (lesson plan, students’ worksheet and textbooks) and data collection instruments in the form of reasoned multiple choice written tests of 20 pretest-posttest questions. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Batu Bara. The population in this study were all 3 classes of XI IPA, and the sample used was 2 classes totaling 60 students taken using cluster random sampling technique. Class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class using the discovery learning model, while class XI IPA 2 as a control class using conventional learning methods. Data analysis techniques in this study were analyzed using ANCOVA.     The Impact of 3D Geometry Assisted 6E Instructional Model to Improve 3D Geometry Thinking Skills of Junior High School Students

    This study aims to reveal the impact of the 6E Instructional 3D geometry model (6E I3DGM) design in improving students' 3D geometric thinking skills. The approach in this study uses a mixed approach. The reason for choosing this approach is that researchers want to get a more comprehensive understanding of this research problem. In this study, the participants involved in this study were (1) junior high school mathematics teachers; (2) grade VIII junior high school students in one of the public junior high schools in Indramayu Regency. In addition, there are three methods of collecting data in this study, namely observation, documentation, tests, which were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data analysis using Miles and Huberman (2014) modification consists of data collection, data reduction (data reduction), data display (data display), and conclusion drawing (verification). The statistical test used in this study used an independent t-test. The results of this study conclude that the 6E I3DGM design can improve students' 3D geometric thinking skills. This is because students (1) can activate students' prior knowledge; (2) can relate previous knowledge with prior knowledge; (3) can explore 3D geometry problems; (4) can facilitate the process of constructing new concepts of 3D geometry into students' memory; (5) able to elaborate 3D geometry knowledge acquired in other contexts; (6) can evaluate the acquired knowledge in order that the 3D geometry knowledge possessed by students is stored in cognitive structures for a long period of time.Keywords: 6E instructional 3D geometry model, 3D geometry thinking skills, junior high school students DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp45-5

    Using Newman Error Analysis to Detect Students’ Error in Solving Junior High School Mathematics Problem

    The existence of student errors is due to the inability of the students to receive and process the information contained in the given questions. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis to find out student errors so that the results obtained in the analysis can be used by teachers to provide appropriate assistance to students, either through methods or media in learning mathematics. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The purpose of this study was to find out how many errors were made by the eighth-grade class of Nurul Falah MTs in solving math problems according to Newman’s theory in school year 2021/2022. So that solutions to reduce errors can be found and also to emphasize which parts require a deeper understanding in solving math problems. The results of the analysis showed that the percentage of student errors in the Reading Error (RE) phase was 13.33%, Reading Comprehension (RC) phase was 42.22%, Transformation Error (TE) phase was 28.89%, Process Skill (PS) phase was 71.11%, and the Encoding Error (EE) phase was 86.67%.     Using Transcript Based Lesson Analysis to Analyze Students' Critical Thinking Skills on Hydrostatic Pressure

    This study aims to analyze the profile of students' critical thinking skills that appear during hydrostatic pressure learning with the discovery learning model in junior high school. The critical thinking skill indicator used is based on the Paul and Elder version. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Sumedang Regency, West Java. The research subjects consisted of 16 students from class VIII. The instruments used are observation and video recording during the learning process. The collected data were analyzed using Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA). The results showed that during the learning process eight elements of reasoning and critical thinking skills could be observed, but the percentage was still small. The introductory session found four indicators of critical thinking skills activity with a percentage of 30.53%. In group discussion activities found eight indicators of critical thinking with a percentage of 40.27%. And in the closing session found five indicators of critical thinking skills activity with a percentage of 32.29%. The low achievement indicators of students' critical thinking skills are caused because students are still not accustomed to expressing what is on their minds and the teacher cannot still ask questions that encourage students to think.     Common Difficulties of Eighth Grade Students When Solving Non-Routine Mathematics Problems

    The study's objective is to investigate common difficulties experienced by 8th-grade students when solving non-routine mathematics problems. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, and the research participants were eighth-graders students at one of the private middle schools in Jakarta. The researchers used a convenience sample to obtain a group of six students available for an in-depth interview session and willing to solve two non-routine problems related to algebra topic. The study showed that the participants experienced difficulties when solving non-routine mathematics problems. They could not read the problem comprehensively; they had trouble converting the word problems into mathematical sentences. They also had difficulty in carrying out their plans. In other words, students did not have the strategy to solve the problem. They had errors in the calculation and had incorrect formulations when solving the given problems. It is suggested that the teacher provide students with guiding instructions to assist students in going through the problem-solving phases step by step.     Development of Centrifugation Tool to Improve Laboratory Performance and Problem Solving Skills

    This study aims to develop centrifugation tool to improve performance in the laboratory and problem solving skills. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with 4D model. The results showed that the developed centrifuge was declared according to the material, had educational value, was durable, precise in measurement, efficient and safe for students based on the responses of teachers and students respectively at 100% and 96.15% with very high criteria. Student performance scores in the laboratory have a distribution close to the average student performance score (91.52). The effectiveness of the application of centrifugation using the students’ worksheet obtained good results in improving problem solving skills with moderate criteria (0.60) and giving moderate effect (0.42).
