    Development of a Guided Inquiry-Based Moodle E-Learning System on the Topic of Salt Hydrolysis

    The goal of this research to develop a guided inquiry-based flipped classroom learning system using Moodle on the topic of salt hydrolysis and determine the level of validity and practicality of the resulting learning system. This research is included in the Educational Design Research research with the Plomp development model. The research subjects were material experts, media experts, chemistry teachers, and students of class XII science at SMAN 8 Padang. The results of this study indicate that the learning system developed is valid with a validity value of 0.88 from material experts and 0.92 from media experts while for the percentage of practicality 92% of student responses and 94% of teacher responses with very practical categories so that it can be used as an alternative to online learning.Keywords: flipped classroom, guided inquiry, salt hydrolysisDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp244-25

    Project-Based Learning in Science Education: A Meta-Analysis Study

    Project-based learning model is one model that is widely used in science learning. Based on this, the relevant literature was reviewed for the Identification of the Effects of Science-Based Learning Project (physics, chemistry, biology, and science) at all levels of education, starting from elementary, junior high, high school, and university levels. Procedures performed; (1) searching and collecting national and international articles through google scholar (2) determining articles according to the characteristics and research criteria, (3) classifying and categorizing articles according to research variables (4) analyzing the pretest and post-test data of articles. This study examines the findings of 25 articles conducted through a meta-analysis to be able to provide conclusions on the effect of project-based learning models in science learning. The magnitude of the influence of PBL in science learning is 1.67 with a high category according to Cohen. This means that the project-based learning model is effectively applied in science learning.     Mathematical Communication Ability of Junior High School Students Across Gender

    The purpose of this study was to describe students' mathematical communication skills in terms of gender differences in class VII-1 of SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong. The subjects in this study were class VII-1 students, as many as 32 students consisting of 26 female students and 6 male students. The data in this study were obtained from tests. The test results are used to determine the mathematical communication skills of male and female students in writing.     Human Digestive System: Gender-Based Contextual Teaching and Learning

    The human digestive system is one of the materials taught to junior high school students. This research purpose was to determine the gender-based contextual (CTL) effect on biology students cognitive learning outcomes. This research used quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Data analysis used descriptive statistical and inferential statistics. The analysis results show that there was significant effect of using the CTL learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes on the human digestive system material with sig value was 0.000>0.05. Regarding gender, there is no significant effect on cognitive learning outcomes on the human digestive system material with sig value was 0.764>0.05. There is no significant effect of the interaction of learning models and gender on cognitive learning outcomes on the human digestive system material with sig value was 0.960>0.05.     Using an Indonesian-version of the Green Chemistry Attitude Scale to Evaluate College Students' Awareness towards Environment

    This study aims to evaluate the concern of prospective chemistry teacher students towards the environment using a questionnaire. green chemistry attitude. The data obtained were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) techniques to determine the contribution of each item, the level of student mastery, and the interrelationship between the dimensions of green chemistry attitudes. The research sample was 200 students who were taken by random sampling technique from the total number of students from the Department of Chemistry Education, FKIP, University of Lampung. The results showed that the 15 statement items in the instrument grouped into 4 factors, namely prevention, design for energy efficiency, safer solvent and auxiliaries, design for degradation. Each statement item and factor have a fairly good validity and reliability in terms of the standard rotated factor loadings and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Furthermore, the mean and grandmean analysis revealed that most of the prospective students for chemistry teacher at FKIP Unila had a positive attitude towards the concept of recycling in chemical processes and the use of solvents that were safe for the environment. Each factor also shows astrong correlation with each other in terms of the Pearson correlation coefficient.     Using Cellphone in Problem-Based Biology Learning to Improve Students’ Creative Thinking Skills

    Students' creative thinking skills need to be developed in the learning process. However, the learning process in schools has not fully implemented learning models that develop students' skills. From the results of observations at SMAN 7 Padang, learning at school still does not make use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and lacks interest in learning in class. To overcome these problems, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model which is intervened with the use of ICT is applied. The use of ICT used is utilizing cellphone and internet networks in obtaining broader information. This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of the problem-based learning model that is intervened by information technology on students' creative thinking skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a randomized control-group posttest only design.     Estimating the Impact of Science Literacy Ability towards Problem Solving Ability of Junior High School Students

    Science learning has concepts related to phenomena that occur in nature. Therefore, students must be able to understand science in its entirety with scientific literacy activities and students will be able to learn science more easily by increasing their problem-solving abilities. This study aims to determine whether or not scientific literacy has an effect on problem solving abilities. This research is an experimental research with simple linear regression analysis method. Using class 8 odd semesters with a total of 29 students and the tests used are scientific literacy tests and problem solving tests. The result of this research is that the highest scientific literacy criteria is sufficient criteria with a percentage of 57.14% and indicators identify valid scientific opinions with the highest percentage. Meanwhile, in problem solving ability, the highest criteria are very good criteria, namely 62.06% and the highest indicator is an indicator of understanding the problem. Regression analysis stated that the significance value was 0.000 <0.05.     The Effect of Jigsaw Learning Strategies on the Metacognition of Tenth Grade Students on Fungi Material: A Case of MA Baitussalam

    This study aims to find out how the influence of Jigsaw learning strategies on students' metacognition development. This study uses a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to students in both classes, namely control and experiment. The population in this study was 56 students. From this study, it was found that the use of the Jigsaw type learning model in MA could provide an increase in students' metacognition. This is indicated by the average number of students' metacognition in the treatment class is higher than in the control class, namely 7,643 for the treatment group and 6,286 for the control group. The treatment class is smaller than the control class if the standard deviation is the benchmark, with 0.1174 for the treatment class and 0.1442 for the control class, which means that the jigsaw type cooperative learning model has an effect on improving students' metacognition. . Keywords: cooperative learning, jigsaw, metacognition.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1464-14710

    The Use of ICT and Its Challenges during the COVID-19 Outbreak: A Phenomenological Study of Junior High School Mathematics Teachers in Indonesia

    This study aimed to describe the ICT products used and the difficulties experienced by junior high school mathematics teachers in Indramayu during online learning during the pandemic COVID-19. In this study, researchers used a phenomenological method based on observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis in this study consisted of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing using the application ATLAS.ti 8. ICT products used by junior high school mathematics teachers in Indramayu include; Zoom Meeting, YouTube, WhatsApp, PowerPoint, Google Meet, Google Form, Google Drive, Google Classroom, Geogebra and School Blogger. The results showed that the most widely used ICT product by data sources was the WhatsApp application.     The Effect of Online Discovery Learning in Google Classroom Environment on Students' Scientific Literacy Skills

    This research aimed to determine the effect of the discovery learning models using a google classroom to develop the scientific literacy abilities. The sample of this research is tenth grade students of science 2 and science 3 groups which are selected through purposive sampling technique. The data are analyzed statistically with an independent sample t-test. The average results of the N-gain scientific literacy ability of the experimental class (0.45 ± 0.11) with medium category and the control class (0.29 ± 0.14) with low category. The average percentage for student presentations is 83.75%, while the learning implementation observation sheet has a 94.4%. The results showed that there is a significant effect of using online discovery learning in google classroom environment towards the improvement of scientific literacy skills of tenth graders students in ecosystems topics.Keywords: discovery learning, scientific literacy, google classroom.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp316-32
