DYMCHENKO, Olena, SMACHYLO, Valentyna, RUDACHENKO, Olha, DRIL, Nataliia. The formation of a startup ecosystem as a basis for increasing entrepreneurial activity: the experience of Ukraine. In: Competitiveness and Innovation in the Knowledge Economy [online]: 26th International Scientific Conference: Conference Proceeding, September 23-24, 2022. Chişinău: ASEM, 2022, pp. 41-48. ISBN 978-9975-3590-6-1 (PDF).The development of entrepreneurship is the key to the economic growth of a democratic country with a market economy. The role of state and local authorities is to promote and increase entrepreneurial activity. An essential role in the development of entrepreneurship is played by startups as a special form of management, which is mainly aimed at innovative solutions to problems and satisfaction of needs. That is why the question arises in forming a complete and complex ecosystem for the development of entrepreneurship, where a startup ecosystem can be singled out separately. The purpose of this study is to develop a structural and logical model of a startup ecosystem based on the example of Ukraine. As a result of using a set of scientific research methods, a number of results were obtained. Based on the methods of structural and logical generalization, analysis, and synthesis, a theoretical interpretation of the basic categories of startup and startup ecosystem was provided. The study of literary sources on the essence of the startup ecosystem made it possible to establish its hierarchy and equality, which affects its content. Hierarchical demarcation (structuring) of the startup ecosystem of Ukraine was carried out, where 4 levels were distinguished: international (global), national, regional, and local. Features of each level are described. Based on the analysis of the constituent ecosystems, a structural and logical model of the startup ecosystem of Ukraine was developed and a description of its structural elements was carried out. Based on the structuring and comparative analysis of the components of the national startup ecosystem and foreign ones, directions for the further development of the startup ecosystem of Ukraine have been determined. Special attention is paid to the analysis and features of the formation of startup ecosystems at the local level, which includes the university level. The Ukrainian university start-up ecosystem and the stages of its implementation are presented in the example of the start-up ecosystem of the O.M. Beketov Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy, which is based on the theory of SMART specializations. The peculiarities of the activity and development of the start-up ecosystem of Ukraine in the conditions of the war with Russia have been determined. OH, Dok Hee, GIL, Kyung Sook. Foreign Economic Cooperation and Development of the Republic of Korea Through the Conclusion of Free Trade Agreements. European Journal of Regional Studies. December 2022, vol. 8, issue 2, pp. 103-121. ISSN 2537-6179, E-ISSN 1857-436X.The article discusses changes in the foreign economic policy of the Republic of Korea in connection with the deterioration of international trade at the beginning of the XXI century. The direct motive for changing the foreign economic policy of the Republic of Korea is the decline in the role of the WTO as a multilateral trading partner. On the other hand, FTA, based on economic cooperation between the two countries, is becoming a new model for economic development and cooperation in the XXI century. Bilateral negotiations are more likely to end than multilateral ones, because they are actively conducted in accordance with the interests of two countries. Therefore, free trade agreements (FTAs) are becoming the main direction of the economic policy of the Korea’s government to adapt foreign economic policy and overcome the negative trend of global economic development. An FTA has various economic effects, such as the development of trade between two countries, improving the efficiency of resource allocation, reviving investment between two countries and stimulating economic growth. In accordance with this situation, the Republic of Korea justifies the relevance of trade and economic cooperation between two countries through the conclusion of an FTA as a means of implementing an active foreign economic policy. The Republic of Korea has become an opportunity to introduce an advanced economic structure through the signing of free trade agreements with advanced countries. On the other hand, it served as an opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation through the signing of free trade agreements with developing countries. For this reason, the experience of the foreign economic policy of the Republic of Korea can serve as a good example for the economic development of developing countries. ARAVAMUDHAN, Varadaraj, SAI MOHANRAJ, Prasanna, SENGODAN, Ananth. Implications of COVID-19 on Textiles Industry in India - Discovering Issues and Challenges on Demand and Supply Sides. Eastern European Journal of Regional Studies. December 2022, vol. 8, issue 2, pp. 18-29. ISSN 2537-6179, E-ISSN 1857-436X.The unexpected COVID-19 outbreak has threatened the world and derailed the socio-economic lives of people. In this context, this study is aimed to discuss the implications of COVID-19 in textiles sector in India along with major issues and challenges on demand and supply sides. This study determines the impact of crisis which affected demand and supply in textiles and fashion industry. COVID-19 has several implications for this industry, be it from demand or production. Its presence is observed in different aspects of the industry. This study uses secondary data collected from various sources like studies published in peer-reviewed journals. This study focuses on the need to think differently to deal with this unexpected crisis. Relaxation of tax compliance rules and deadlines, especially for small-scale segments is one of the potential solutions, so that the conditions of customer demand are not affected directly. In addition, more comprehensive financial relief package could be announced for textiles sector, considering the export- and labor-intensive processes to stem the adverse effects of pandemic. Rebates on exporters could be the next major step against the remission of taxes or duties on exports. This study was conducted during the COVID-19 crisis. More studies would be needed in post COVID era to generalize the findings. The combative measures and actual impact may be evolutionary and dynamic. The analysis focuses on the “out of the box” thinking to deal with unexpected crisis, but it may have different aspects to be discussed as the crisis unfolds. There is a lack of significant research on the impact of COVID-19 on textile industry in India. This study could be the stepping stone for researchers to study the impact on textiles sector and help policymakers to prepare for unexpected crises in future. CHIRVAS, Cristina. Analiza rezultatelor cercetării conceptului de diasporă prin prisma contribuției la dezvoltarea economică a țărilor de origine = Conceptual Analysis of the Term Diaspora through the Prism of the Contribution to the Economic Development of the Countries of Origin. In: Economica. 2022, nr. 4(122), pp. 27-43. DOI: https://doi.org/10.53486/econ.2022.122.027 ************************************************************************************************************************************* The process of diaspora formation is usually conditioned by migration processes and the creation of migrant communities abroad is one of the effects of migration that bring with it a series of advantages for the countries of origin. Diaspora represents an active power, involved in almost all fields of activity of a society, therefore, in the specialized literature, the term itself is treated differently, depending on the field of study that addresses it. However, how can diaspora be defined, how can its size be assessed, how is this term different from migration, how the interest in the study of diaspora has evolved and what are the economic ramifications of diaspora actions for the countries of origin, are just some of the aspects that we propose to address during the research. ŢURCANU, Igor. Managing the tax evasion and fraud risks as result of the voluntary taxpayer compliance program. In: Competitiveness and Innovation in the Knowledge Economy [online]: 26th International Scientific Conference: Conference Proceeding, September 23-24, 2022. Chişinău: ASEM, 2022, pp. 79-85. ISBN 978-9975-3590-6-1 (PDF).Currently, taxpayers are developing solutions to reduce the tax burden using both legal limits of the tax legislation and less legal limits. Resulting from this situation, the concern of the State Tax Service in terms of tax practices in the future will be mainly focused on the identification and management of fraud and tax evasion risks, which represent a major impediment for the revenue to the national public budget. In this context, risk management through the voluntary compliance of taxpayers would be a less expensive solution for tax administration, and the results obtained could reduce the tax gap between what was planned and what was collected. The study carried out by the author was focused on addressing the issue of the risks of voluntary compliance of taxpayers, thereby contributing to the increase of efficiency in tax administration, carried out by the State Tax Service. The scientific approach started from the idea of identifying the potential risks faced by the State Tax Service in the process of tax administration.
