Student-Generated Materials in University EFL Classes: What the Students Think – A Beliefs Study
This study examines Japanese university students' beliefs about using student-generated materials in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes, focusing on perceived impacts on engagement, motivation, and learning experiences. Using a mixed-methods approach with a sample of 46 students, findings show that student-generated materials are generally viewed positively, enhancing students' sense of ownership, engagement, and critical thinking. However, students also cite challenges, such as the need for clear guidance and consistent feedback to maintain quality. These results suggest that, when adequately supported, student-generated materials can enrich EFL curricula, fostering more active and meaningful learning experiences. This study contributes insights for educators seeking to integrate student-centered materials into language teaching practices.Article【査読論文/Refereed Articles】departmental bulletin pape
