Vatra Luminoasa, age-friendly-study of intergenerational architecture in a Bucharest neighborhood
Objectives: In the context of the future challenges of the society in which we live, the ageing process of the population determines requirements to which architecture must respond from now on. In this sense, the students of group 52 (academic year V, 2019-2020, Faculty of Architecture, Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism, Bucharest, Romania-IMUAU) were challenged in the most complex project in the faculty to experience a new perspective in architecture, the perspective of age, in order to understand and seek contemporary meanings of the concept of “age-friendly” in architecture. In Romania there are no concrete concerns in this regard, although at the research level it has been discussed for over 10 years. Prior work: The study is based on concepts already promoted in previous research of the authors such as age-friendly architecture, intergenerational architecture, Universal Design, inclusive architecture. Approach: Research by design is used as a method. The proposed site is located in the Vatra Luminoasa? neighborhood, on the site of the former Zefirul factory. The project took place in 2 phases, phase 1 in 4 teams of 7-8 students, resulting in 4 master plans, phase 2 in teams of 2 students or individually, resulting in 23 projects. The teams of students were coordinated by 4 professors from IMUAU and specialist advice was provided by 4 experts (physician, psychologist, biologist and physical therapist). Results: The 4 master plans highlighted different architectural approaches for the concept of "age-friendly": Street with Garden, Enclosure, 7 Courtyards and Strips. Within the 4 master plans, 23 projects were developed such as: residential centers for seniors, housing for seniors, multi- and inter- generational housing, intergenerational community centers, after-school, medical rehabilitation, wellness and spa centers. All projects were focused on the needs of users, from different age groups. Emphasis was placed on the use of therapeutic architectural tools such as light, shape, color, texture, sound. Implications: The research results reveal the importance of a good theoretical knowledge of the ageing population topic and of the training of young professionals specializing in age-friendly architecture. Teamwork and the interdisciplinary approach are an important key to the success of a sustainable, intergenerational architecture project with a significant impact at the urban level. Value: The research proves the potential of the Vatra Luminoasa? neighborhood in an architectural perspective of the ages in architecture
The implementation of smart government of Iraq and its impact on the transportation
This study target the understanding of what does mean the smart government and how we can use this system to improve better service in the transportation environment which lead the country to be one of the developing countries in the middle east, going same time to classify the problems in the transportation and how can put and develop strategies help and support the government to go forward and lead the country to the success in that area, all that will prove and develop the economy, education and other fields in Iraq. The road system in Iraq is in dire need of the smart transportation system, which has been applied in many countries for years, but in Iraq the government has been late in applying this type of technology, and it is a technology that needs a system similar to mobile technology in its creation and use in terms of infrastructure in addition to specialized units. The increase in the number of vehicles around the world prompted the developed countries to find scientific mechanisms to solve the congestion called the smart management of transport because the construction of new roads is excluded because it is very expensive
Risk management in Palestine in the small insurance industry
The insurance sector is one of the most important sectors within the Palestinian economy, in light of the complexity in the Palestinian economy resulting from the occupation. This study focuses on risk management in Palestine and the provision of insurance services to small projects in dangerous areas, as the aim of the study is to clarify the Palestinian vision of danger as an entry point for providing new services. risk management In an attempt to build a more modern insurance sector through sustainable access to insurance services in a modern and modern way and keep pace with the status quo on the ground in light of reducing the existing political solutions by the occupation and trying to control all Palestinian economic resources, Developing aspects of the economy in particular in rural areas, assisting risk management steps, and trying to identify the most common risks in Palestine. We will use the descriptive approach to describe the case of the study in order to know the most common risks and treat them and develop the insurance sector The results are expected to help increase knowledge of the most common risks for small projects and try to develop the insurance sector in Palestine in a modern way that deals with the economically complex environment of risks until the risks are addressed and with the help of modern steps to manage risks for the development of the Palestinian economy
Managementul deseurilor medicale si gestionarea acestora in timpul pandemiei Covid -19
In lucrare prezint importanta pentru societate a administrarii prin colectare, transport, depozitare si neutralizare a deseurilor medicale periculoase, avand in vedere si contextul actual al pandemiei. Romania nu a avut o traditie in domeniul colectarii deseurilor medicale netoxice/ sau toxice, mai ales ca sistemul sau sanitar era redus. Concomitent cu dezvoltarea infrastructuri medicale ( spitale de stat si private, cabinete private, medici de familie, cabinete medicale din scoli si universitatii), administratia publica prin Ministerul Sanatatii a trebuit obiectiv sa solutioneze legislativ si prin norme de aplicare cantitatile in crestere de materiale sanitare periculoase, a modului de manipulare, colectare selectiva, depozitare, transport, raportare si neutralizare. Obiective: Deseurile medicale periculoase si gestionarea acestora reprezinta una din problemele majore ale politicii strategice de sanatate publica care este reglementata atat la nivel national, cat si la nivel UE. Se au in vedere consecintele posibil dezastruoase asupra sanatatii populatiei si afectarea mediului. Studii prealabile: Utilizarea sondajelor care au fost realizate pana in prezent, a rapoartelor, a datelor statistice de la nivel national si european. Abordare: Administrarea deseurilor medicale impune proceduri, chiar standarde obligatorii legiferate de factorul politic pentru protejarea populatiei si a mediului. S-a impus crearea unor organisme de studii si cercetari care sa elaboreze periodic situatiile din sistemul medical national, sa elaboreze propuneri pentru rezolvarea urgenta a crizelor care pot aparea in sistemul medical, cum este actuala pandemie de COVID-19, organisme de control a modului de implementare si control a masurilor adoptate si mai ales, asigurarea finantarii lor. Rezultate: Inventarierea masurilor legislative care au fost luate si ce masuri se mai impun avand in vedere situatia actuala cat si efectele economice pe termen mediu si lung. Implicatii: Pandemia cu noul coronavirus a scos in evidenta lipsurile materiale si a resurselor umane de specialitate din sistemul medical, sistemele de management cu functionare ineficienta, legislatia incompleta, necesitatea actualizarii si modernizarii raportarilor de cazuistici, posibilitatile de adaptare la situatiile de criza in sistemul medical national etc. S-a constatat ca, din lipsa de cadre de specialitate la nivel politic si profesional, s-au adoptat masuri provizorii cu consecinte nefaste, cand unele unitatii sanitare publice, nespecializate au fost obligate sa preia cazurile de persoane afectate de noul coronavirus. Valoare: Consecintele sanitare, economice, sociale, politice asupra populatiei cu o posibila repetitivitate impugn o abordare detaliata de catre factorii de decizie pentru prevenirea, combaterea si diminuarea efectelor
Health Policies in Times of Crisis
Current events in recent decades have highlighted crisis-causing events, through the emergence of the Covid- 19 epidemic and other communicable diseases, but also through manifestations caused by climate change at zonal level - floods, droughts, violent storms or earthquakes. All have been unpredictable and have caused major budgetary expenditure. In all cases, the importance of the local, regional and global health system, the need for collaboration and cooperation, and the development of standards under the coordination of the World Health Organization were highlighted. At the same time, new specialisations within the health system have emerged, as well as the organisation of government departments for emergency situations. Consequently, it can be stated that health policies need to be drawn up to deal with the various unforeseeable crisis situations, which means legislation, organisation, training of specialised staff, equipment, budgetary expenditure, but also preventive measures in some cases, as well as special attention to be paid to eliminating the consequences of the effects of crises with their specific characteristics. Currently, the Covid-19 epidemic is considered almost eradicated according to WHO, the main consequence being the death of more than 7 million people worldwide. For the realization of the material we took into account the documents and norms issued by the World Health Organization, the European Union, the Romanian Authorities as well as statements in the media of international and local specialists about the appearance, evolution, treatment methods, effects and consequences of the vaccines used
Digital twins, the software solution for safer cities
Objectives: The S4ALLCities project\u27s main goals are to build an open platform for information exchange and management, as well as to provide real-time situational awareness and decision support, thereby increasing the resilience of European cities while respecting citizens\u27 fundamental right to privacy. Prior work: The project seeks to optimize smart cities through modular subsystems known as digital twins, each of which contributes to the overall goal in a unique way. These digital twins excel at real-time digital representation and machine learning of processes and objects encountered in a variety of open public spaces. Approach: These digital twins aid in the detection of potential hazards in urban public spaces. They will be validated for three months in three European cities: Trikala, Bilbao and Pilsen. They will monitor infrastructure in the city, such as traffic and access to restricted areas, as well as detect potential explosions, cyber attacks, and suspicious activity.Results:The demonstration events will demonstrate the effectiveness of the smart monitoring system by taking key measurements of city infrastructure (such as traffic, access to restricted areas, and evacuation routes), detecting explosives, cyber-attacks, and suspicious activity. Implications: S4ALLCities will be validated in three European cities over the course of three months, where it will be installed and tested. Its advantages will be demonstrated to stakeholders through a series of scenarios involving physical and cyber attacks on soft targets in the aforementioned smart cities. Public space, which is currently vulnerable to attacks of all kinds, could be a soft target. Value: By using innovative digital twin technologies, possible dangers to public safety are prevented
Designing an integrated modern parking in a crowded city area – a case study
Problems with parking places occur everywhere, especially in the cities. The purpose of this research is to design a concept of a modern parking place which can offer various services. With the rise of the world motor vehicle fleet and the emergence of new models, the infrastructure of major cities must be developed accordingly. The latter is increasingly affected by the needs of the population subject to mobility and the transport of various goods, which leads to crowded traffic. Our approach included the collection and analysis of real data regarding flow of traffic, simulation and designing a conceptual model of the parking place. Our findings focused on the advantages and disadvantages of developing such a solution and can be used for further development. The present study can be used in a variety of areas – for practitioners as a source of information and ideas, for academics and researchers as a model methodology. The study presents a methodology for designing a modern parking place taking into consideration various factors. This approach can be used to further increase the quality of life for the citizens living in the cities
The Symbiotic Threat of Human Error, Intended Action and Cybernetic Security System
Human error plays a significant role in cyber security breaches. In fact, according to a study by IBM, human error is responsible for 95% of all cybersecurity breaches. This can include unintentional actions or even lack of action by employees that cause, spread, or allow a security breach to occur. While software can sometimes be responsible for cybersecurity, human error still remains the leading cause of cybersecurity breaches. Intended actions, such as deliberate actions taken by individuals or groups to compromise security, are another type of cybernetic security threat. These actions can include hacking, insider threats, information sabotage and cyber espionage. This symbiotic threat between human error and cybernetic security highlights the crucial need to understand the relationship between the two in order to develop stronger cybersecurity behaviors and reduce cyber risk. Training and technology can help reduce the likelihood of human error by increasing awareness and knowledge of cyber security best practices. Additionally, cybersecurity awareness training is predicted to be worth $10 billion by 2027, further emphasizing the importance of addressing human factors in cyber security. By understanding the different types of cybersecurity threats, organizations can better prepare and protect themselves against potential breaches. We will present a real case example of human deliberate act - cybernetic attack of compromising an important architectural project designing process that took place in Athens in 2003, the repercussions of this act and what could be done today in order to avoid a similar situation
Exploring the Cybercrime Prevention Campaign on Twitter: Evidence from the Indonesian Government
Cybercrime in Indonesia has recently become a significant problem in line with the increase in internet users, which is a serious issue among online community networks. Therefore, this makes government authorities strive to take preventive measures to prevent the spread of cybercrime. In this case, this article aims to explore the Indonesian government\u27s efforts under the National Cyber and Crypto Agency to run a cybercrime prevention campaign through the @BSSN_RI Twitter account with the tagline Guard Cyberspace. Exploration studies have been initiated and visualized with the code of the NVivo tool. This research has produced several findings, including: Firstly, the Indonesian government has taken current preventive measures, and there has been a call to action to prevent cybercrime during the last two years. Secondly, the Indonesian government has maximized its efforts to prevent cybercrime through various tweets, posters, and the hashtag. Furthermore, Twitter users (outside of public sector accounts) are also contributing to spreading cybercrime prevention campaigns. In addition, there are several words and hashtag frequencies that echo the point of view of the campaign. Moreover, this research also contributes significantly to increasing the richness of literature on how government authorities’ use social media as a cybercrime prevention campaign tool, which past studies have limited
A model for implementing vibration and sound heatmaps in smart cities based on crowdsensing data
This paper aims to establish a model that can utilize vibration and sound heatmaps in smart traffic using Internet of things, mobile and web technologies. The developed system should be able to monitor and collect information using crowdsensing technology, as well as provide the current status of the environment. The final objective of the model is to generate visual heat maps related to perceptual attributes (e.g. ‘calm’, ‘pleasant’, ‘unbearable‘) with collected vibrations and sounds as a starting point. The proposed system is developed through these main stages: (1) Vibration and sound sources recognition (2) Profiling of the sources (3) Prediction of perceptual measures divided by the area (4) Implementation of vibration and sound heatmaps. This research is specifically focusing on the last two stages (predictions and implementation). These stages are broken down into smaller phases with methodology and processes described in detail. The model of the developed system was realized through measured vibrations and sound data in urban transportation in Novi Sad city. Finally, we present the research results from the analysis paradigm and provide suggestions for its implementation
