Origin and Development of the Packaging of Fast-turning Goods
The purpose of this article is to provide a historical overview of how packaging came about and its initial role in the life of primitive man. The brief historical overview begins with the emergence of humanity and the initial role of packaging. Tracing the chronology of the historical development of the packaging industry shows the development of human life and culture over the centuries. In the earliest period, natural materials such as plant leaves, gourds and fabrics were used for packaging. Coming to our time, the variety of packaging is so great that it would be difficult to describe. As the variety of packaging types increases, so does the packaging’s functions. Nowadays, it fulfills five very important roles: protective, transport, ecological, informational and advertising-aesthetic. Historically speaking, for many years packaging had only two functions and they were protective and transport

Law and logic: A deductive criterion for determination of truth value of evidence in civil and administrative procedures – Part I
The study examines the possibility of applying a deductive logical criterion for determination of the truth value of evidence in civil and administrative procedures. Part I points out types of evidence and facts with ex lege definite truth value according to current legislation in Bulgaria. It reviews the opportunity evidence without such ex lege definite truth value to be subjected to verification using the proposed deductive criterion. It is also argued that in the criterion’s application as premises evidence and facts with ex lege definite truth value should be involved in order to guarantee the truth value of the conclusions. The study provides a detailed review of the propositional logic apparatus involved. Part II reviews the deductive method applied – the method of natural deduction. The application of the deductive criterion in determining the truth value of evidence in an example from legal practice is also shown. At the end the method of natural deduction is applied to a particular kind of proof – based only on circumstantial evidence with ex lege definite truth value. The study concludes with summary of the advantages and limitations of the application of the deductive criterion, some new areas of application of deductive logic in civil procedure are reviewed and some open research issues are pointed
Gamification in business and entrepreneurship education – theory and applications
The aim of this study is to systematize the main advantages and difficulties in the use of game elements in entrepreneurship education. It will examine the expected effects of their application on the quality of education and the level of skills acquired. The first part discusses the need to rethink the way in which entrepreneurship education is conducted in relation to new opportunities provided by technology, but also due to the changing needs and ways of training new generations. The next section analyzes the various possibilities for applying “gaming” practices in training and linking them with a systematic framework for the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies. The last part presents the methodology used by the authors to create a gaming platform for entrepreneurship education. The final part summarizes some conclusions and makes recommendations for the use of gamification in education in the field of business, entrepreneurship and economics in secondary and higher education
Language education, digital citizenship, and Juri Lotman’s semiosphere
The present paper explores the use of language teaching for educating students into becoming digitally-literate citizens, as well as conscious, active members of the digital universe. The material discussed derives from the eLang project, a flagship project of the European Centre for Modern Languages. The guidelines, and real-world and reflexive tasks put together by the eLang team of experts, along with the theoretical framework employed are examined with respect to the notion of semiosphere by Juri M. Lotman, and the way this endorses digital transformation in language education. Seen, thus, as partaking in the digital semiosphere, and at the same time in the multiplicity of the semiotic systems ingrained in it, the current language student and future citizen assumes different roles, interacts with distinct as well as overlapping communities, is asked to make sense of multimodal resources, so as to eventually acquire far more than the skills of a digital user. The eLang material addresses, in this way, the demand for training language students in the multifarious literacies that digital literacy has come to encompass. The language student overrides, thus, classroom topography and the boundaries of conventional language education, and traces those of the globalised digital semiosphere, within which it cannot but soar
Application of clay as a sustainable building material. Characteristics of ancient clay plasters - pilot results
Clay is a popular traditional material that has been used for the construction of building materials and household objects since time immemorial. Due to its plastic property and capacity to regulate humidity, it was often used in the form of clay plasters. At present, the building sector has become a serious contributor to climate change, thus triggering a need for the use of more sustainable and eco-friendly materials. This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of ancient clay plasters from the Roman age and define their production technology. The reason for this study is that the ancient production recipes of clay plasters are the base for the modern ones. The analytical methods that were used in this research include X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, Powder X-Ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis, Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) measurements and thermal analysis. It was established that two types of raw clay were used for the clay plasters preparation, calcareous and non-calcareous, and both match the rock types on the surface around the archeological sites, meaning that the clay was most likely of local origin. There are no signs of burning on the samples; however there is a high probability that they were intentionally treated thermally within a similar temperature range. The acquired results suggest a good environmental knowledge throughout the Roman era and an ability to work well with traditional materials, but with different properties. The results are also of practical value, since they can be applied in the creation of modern plasters that can be used both in modern buildings and for conservation and restoration purposes
The limited companies “Courier” and “Strela” as distributors of the print media in Bulgaria
The study examines the overall development of the limited partnerships “Courier” and “Strela”. They are registered in the capital Sofia and for almost four decades control the sale of print media in the country. These companies are legally regulated monopoly firms in the distribution of periodicals in the country. So far, there is no independent and comprehensive study devoted to them in the academic literature on journalism. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to trace and analyze the overall development of these limited partnerships. The study is mainly based on archival sources not included in scholarly circulation. Scientific and memoir literature has also been used
The intersection of communication and museums
The present article explores the relationship between the museums, communication, and technology, a bond growing increasingly strong in the 21st century. Cultural institutions are part of the modern world where technological progress is advancing rapidly. The audiences are acting as mediators marked by a notable preference for emotional engagement, authenticity, and immediacy. This interaction fosters an intriguing symbiotic relationship among museums, communication, and online environment, creating many inspiring products
