Fremd bin ich eingezogen, Fremd zieh’ ich wieder aus: The Common yet not Shared Crises of Opera Singers
Full text linkThere is almost no empirical research into the later stages of classical singers’ careers and the difficulties faced. A quantitative study of operatic soloists was conducted via online questionnaire to ascertain when and how these difficulties manifest themselves. The survey divided the singers into 2 groups: those who stopped their solo careers as a result of the difficulties and those whose careers continued, in order to explore the differences between the responses of the 2 groups to the career downturn. This article posits that the singer’s crisis is a common experience, though one which singers seldom discuss amongst themselves. To illustrate this, it focuses on the 2 causes for career difficulties most often cited by the respondents: mental health issues and technical vocal problems. The study demonstrates a reluctance by singers to deal with anxiety, stress and self-doubt, even at the cost of their careers.Keywords: Opera; professional singers; crisis; career; longevity; mixed-methods; vocal technique Les crises communes mais non-partagées des chanteurs lyriquesIl n’existe pratiquement aucune recherche empirique sur les étapes ultérieures de la carrière des chanteurs classiques et les difficultés rencontrées. Une étude quantitative des solistes d\u27opéra a été menée via un questionnaire en ligne pour déterminer quand et comment ces difficultés se manifestent. L\u27enquête a divisé les chanteurs en 2 groupes : ceux qui ont arrêté leur carrière solo en raison des difficultés et ceux dont la carrière s\u27est poursuivie, afin d\u27explorer les différences entre les réponses des 2 groupes aux difficultés de carrière. Cet article suggère que la crise du chanteur est une expérience commune, même si les chanteurs en discutent rarement entre eux. Pour illustrer cela, il explore les 2 causes de difficultés de carrière les plus souvent citées par les répondants : les problèmes de santé mentale et les problèmes techniques vocaux. Full text linkПрез 1920-те и 1930-те години теорията на романа започва да става забележима в самия текст на романа. В статията са разгледани романи с експериментална наративна структура, като за първи път са сравнени български, румънски и френски текстове, които изпробват нови литературни „кройки“. Анализираните писатели обсъждат ролята на разказвача в самия текст, било то с гласа на самия писател или на нарочен наратор. Те заявяват стремеж към автентичност и търсят връзката на литературата с друг „моден крояч“ – изобразителния кубизъм. Забелязва се отрицателно отношение на модернистите към френския писател Пол Бурже, дотогава емблематичен европейски романист. Засечен е видим интерес към Америка и американците, в колеблива смесица от възхита и отхвърляне.Ключови думи: експериментален роман от 1920-1930-те; кубизъм в литературата; Константин Константинов; Светослав Минков; Камил Петреску; Андре ЖидNovel’s ‘Solitary Tailor’In the 1920s and 1930s, the theory of the novel started becoming visible in the texts of novels themselves. This article examines novels with experimental narrative structures, comparing for the first time Bulgarian, Romanian, and French texts that tried new literary ‘cuts’. These writers discussed the role of the narrator throughout the text itself, either in their own name or through the narrator’s voice. They declared a search for authenticity and sought the connection of literature with another ‘fashionable tailor’: Cubism in art. It became apparent that these Modernists displayed a negative attitude towards Paul Bourget, a French writer who had at the time ‘cut out’ an emblematic figure of a successful European novelist. Хипостази на мотива за маската в гръцката поезия от началото на ХХ в.
Full text linkСтатията разглежда творчеството и биографиите на Ромос Филирас и Наполеон Лапатиотис, представители на поколението поети от първите десетилеия на ХХ в., считани за предшественици на гръцкия поетичен космополитизъм от 20-те години на ХХ в. Наред с това са анализирани ‘хипостазите’ на мотива за маската в творчеството им. Крилете на пеперудата. Християнството и тоталитаризмът в белетристиката на Ана Бландиана и Теодора Димова
Full text linkСтатията сравнява две белетристични книги на румънската писателка Ана Бландиана и на българската писателка Теодора Димова. Както става ясно в хода на анализа, книгите показват много сходства в начина, по който представят „тоталитарния опит“. В тези художествени произведения ние можем да видим как чрез детската гледна точка авторките успяват да открият различни решения във времена на криза и мъчителни обстоятелства. По блестящ естетически начин Бландиана и Димова демонстрират неограничените възможности на литературата да предоставя спасение дори в трагичните инциденти, да сочи дори и в края – рая.Ключови думи: християнство; тоталитаризъм; антитоталитарна литература; сравнително литературознание; балканистика; екзистенциална психотерапия The Wings of the Butterfly. Christianity and Totalitarianism in Ana Blandiana’s and Teodora Dimova’s fictionThe article compares two fiction books by the Romanian author Ana Blandiana and fellow Bulgarian writer Teodora Dimova. As the analysis reveals the books share a lot of similarities in their approach to the “totalitarian experience”. In these literary works, we can see how through the child’s viewpoint the two female writers show different solutions in times of crises and harrowing circumstances. In summary, Blandiana and Dimova demonstrate in a brilliant aesthetic way the endless possibilities of literature to find salvation even in tragic accidents, and an exit from exile.Keywords: Christianity; totalitarianism; antitotalitarian literature; comparative literature; Balkan studies; existential psychotherap
