Тàлер или дàлер? Национален колорит и наименования на парични единици в преводите на норвежките народни приказки на български език
Full text linkСъхраняването на националния, културния и историческия колорит е основно предизвикателство при превода на фолклорни наративи. В статията се разглеждат подходите към норвежките реалии (културноспецифична лексика), обозначаващи парични единици (норв. daler, skilling и mark), възприети от преводачите на български език на събраните от Петер Кристен Асбьорнсен и Йорген Му Норвежки народни приказки. Стратегиите на преводачите се анализират на фона на ключовата роля на Приказките за подхранване на норвежката национална идентичност през периода на Националния романтизъм. В статията се представят и някои теоретични обобщения, свързани с многобройните фактори, които обуславят възможните преводачески решения – напр. жанровата специфика на изходния текст, целевата група на превода, интензивността на националния колорит и естеството на денотата на реалиите. National Overtones and Names of Currency Units in the Translations of the Norwegian Folktales into Bulgarian Rendering national, cultural and historical references into the target language is one of the major challenges in translating folklore narratives. The paper examines the approaches to Norwegian realia (i.e. words for culture-specific items) denoting currency units (daler, skilling and mark), adopted by the Bulgarian translators of the Norwegian Folktales collected by Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Moe. The translation strategies are discussed against the backdrop of the major role of the Folktales in fostering Norwegian national identity during the National Romanticism period. The paper provides some theoretical considerations relating to the multitude of factors which underlie the possible translation strategies, e.g. the genre specifics of the source text, the target group of the translation, the degree of the national overtones’ intensity and the nature of the realia’s denotata. Пословиците в Дон Кихот – преводачески ребуси
Full text linkНастоящата статия представлява част от друго наше, по-обемно компаративно изследване, което разглежда особеностите при пресъздаване на пословици в няколко български и три чуждоезични превода на Дон Кихот. С помощта на сравнителния метод и чрез анализ на фрагменти от романа е направен опит да се докаже качеството на преводните текстове от гледна точка на съвременната теория на превода, да се разкрият преводаческите похвати при пресъздаване на трудно преводими елементи и да се установят евентуални връзки и взаимодействия между отделните преводи. Ключови думи: преводознание; превод на пословици; фразеология; Дон Кихот Proverbs in Don Quixote – Translation Puzzles This article is a part of another of our more comprehensive comparative study, which examines the peculiarities of recreation of proverbs in several translations of Don Quixote into Bulgarian, English, French and Russian language. With the help of the comparative method and through the analysis of specific fragments an attempt is made to prove the quality of translated texts according to the modern translation theory; to reveal techniques in recreating elements that are difficult to translate, and to establish possible interactions between the individual translations. Stratégies d’adaptation de La vie devant soi : fonctions éthiques et transformations filmiques
Full text linkL’article étudie deux adaptations filmiques (1977, 2020) du roman de Romain Gary La vie devant soi du point de vue des stratégies de transformation du récit lors de son passage de la page à l’écran et des contextualisations du texte (ré)adapté au XXe et au XXIe siècle. L’étude comparée de cas est révélatrice de l’évolution en matière de formes d’adaptation dominantes : de la fidélité au texte-source vers l’intertextualité et l’innovation. Nous montrons l’actualité de l’éthique humaniste de Gary à travers l’amplification filmique des valeurs humaines incarnées dans des personnages empathiques. Ivan Vazov and the Western Literary Tradition: Modes of Communication
Full text linkThe present article attempts to study the personality of Ivan Vazov as a perceiver of Western European literature. Vazov’s works are representative of the tendencies which started during the Bulgarian National Revival period, tendencies toward overcoming cultural backwardness and inclusion of Bulgarian literature in the European tradition. He devoted a great part of his literary and public activity to this cultural cause. In his body of work, Vazov accumulated the ideas of cultural catching up, distilled the best of the European experience, summarised it, and integrated it. The inclusion of Vazov’s works in the European literary tradition can be traced in the various modes of his communication with the national literatures of Western Europe – as a reader, translator, compiler, critic, editor, and author. Emphasising the Western influence in his work, he pointed out his models, constantly comparing himself to them, borrowing themes and motifs, genres and means of expression. Vazov managed to develop as an author of his own time – relevant to the native ideological and cultural context, but integrating the European literary achievements in his work. Вазовото творчество е представително за започналите още през Възраждането тежнения към преодоляване на културната изостаналост и вписването на българската литература в европейската традиция. На тази културна мисия той посвещава голяма част от своята литературна и обществена дейност. В творчеството си акумулира идеите за културно наваксване, концентрира най-доброто от европейския опит, обобщава го и го интегрира.Вазовото вписване на собственото творчество в европейската литературна традиция може да се проследи чрез различните модуси на общуването му с литературите на Западна Европа – като читател, преводач, съставител, критик, редактор, творец. Акцентирал върху западното влияние в творчеството си, той посочва своите авторитети, като непрекъснато се оглежда в тях, заимства теми и мотиви, жанрове и изразни средства. Вазов изгражда себе си като един своевременен автор – актуален за родния идеен и културен контекст, но интегрирал в творчеството си европейските литературни достижения.
