the serbian translation of the "evergetis synaxarion" in two sinaitic manuscripts
When the Greek substrate of the Hilandar (and Studenica) typikon was discovered, scholars raised the issue whether the complete Greek text of the Evergetis Typikon had been translated into the Serbian language or not (1895). There were several attempts to prove that a complete version of the Evergetis Typikon had been used in the territory under the jurisdiction of the Serbian Church before the introduction of the Jerusalem Typikon (1318/ 1319). In the Description of the (Old) Manuscript Collection of the Sinai Monasteries, Dorde Sp. Radojicic suggested that there must have been a Serbian Small Euchologion (trebnik, hagiasmatarion) with a synaxarion modelled in accordance with the typikon of the monastery of the Virgin Evergetis. Over the past several decades, attention has also been drawn to the presence of liturgical rules typical of the Evergetis Typikon in Serbian liturgical books (menaia and oktoechoi) from the late 13th and early 14th century, but no definitive answer has been given to the question whether the whole liturgical section of the Evergetis Typikon was translated at the time of Saint Sava (at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries) or it happened later. The character of the Evergetis synaxaria, which were on various occasions identified in two Sinaitic manuscripts though no mutual relationship between them was established, also remains unknown. This paper seeks to offer a partial answer to these questions, with the idea of encouraging new research that will provide as detailed picture as possible of liturgy in the Serbian Church in the 13th and 14th centuries
Structure, contents and functional characteristics of didactic grammars of Russian language in Inoslavic (Serbian and Croatioan) speaking environment
The thesis is concerned with the basic categories of the model of didactic grammar of the Russian language intended for the speakers of a closely related inoslavic (Serbian and Croatian) language: structures, contents and functions. Didactic grammar is defined as a functional book where didactic contents are presented by means of a special didactic and methodical tool, coordinated with particular psychological, lingua-didactic and linguistic principles. The teaching content is perceived as a didactically transposed system of linguistic concepts, notions and generalizations necessary and sufficient for attaining a communicative and linguistic competence at the level and in the scope corresponding to the aim of teaching for each particular educational profile. Didactic grammar is considered as a system of logical constructs – predication, substance, outer content, inner content and functions. Each of them represents a separate hierarchical system of subordinate components relative to higher rank components, with specific functional-ontological properties, elements and character of their mutual relations. This thesis represents an attempt to describe and analyze the above mentioned basic categories of the model of the didactic grammar of the Russian language in inoslavic (Serbian and Croatian) social and cultural environment. The analysis encompasses psychological and didactic and methodical factors determining didactic form of the school grammar. The outer structure involves metastructure, macrostructure and microstructure, whereas the inner structure deals with praxeological-semiotic, praxeological-informative and praxeological-methodological aspects. This issue is dealt with from a theoretical and conceptual aspect with elements of valorisation. The analysis is carried out on a sample of didactic grammars of the Russian language intended for its adoption in an inoslavic (Serbian and Croatian) speaking and socio-cultural environment
The language of dialogue in the Arabic novel
Sve do savremene epohe, pridržavanje normi „božanskog“ i „božanstvenog“ arapskog jezika presuđivalo je statusu književnog dela i njegovom pripajanju zvaničnom arhivu kulturnih uzora. Jezički preobražaj najpre je postao osetan u novim formama pripovedačke proze – drami, priči i romanu, dok su se arabljanski poetski kanoni, u okviru kojih se fusha podrazumevala kao jedino validno sredstvo izraza, zadržali sve do početka XX veka...Until the contemporary era, the adherence to the norms of the “celestial” and “divine” Arabic language served as the final verdict on the status of a literary work and its inclusion into the offical archive of cultural models. The works of popular and folk literature were ousted from this representative treasury due to the presence of non-standard varieties in their texts. The given linguistic criterion in the textual selection made elite literature one of the staunchest secular bastions of the pure, correct, eloquent Arabic code – the Fusha, but also a screen that concealed a multi-layered linguistic reality of the Arabic-speaking community. In the late 19th century, the linguistic “barriers” between the above-mentioned types of literature were relativised under the influence of the contemporary linguistic approach, based on the observation of language as an entity prone to evolutionary change. Its cause was, thereafter, supported by literary-linguistic principles from Western literature, which Arabic authors engaged in translating and imitating. The language change was first felt in the new forms of narrative – the drama, the short story and the novel, whereas the Arabic poetic canons, within which the Fusha was taken for granted as the only valid means of expression, were preserved all until the early 20th century..
Temporal determination in complex sentences with a temporal clause in Swedish and Serbian
Building MESS (Multicultural Education Support System) in traditional and distance learning
We are boastful of attempts to obliterate national differences, but the economic, political and cultural ones come in their stead. Cultural boundaries are drawn more accurately than the national ones. Cultural chauvinism and isolationism can be more entrenched, more powerful and globally more present than the national ones. It is therefore important to build MESS (Multicultural Education Support System) in traditional, as well as in Distance Learning environment within the Higher Education Area. The Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade has directed significant efforts towards the creation of this type of support system
Transdisciplinary Approach to Language Study: the Complexity Theory Perspective
This book is about complexity-driven, trandsisciplinary approach to language study. It illustrates how complexity science can be applied in the research of language and society in order to create and sustain a transdisciplinary dialogue across interested communities of practice which may be beneficial in improving living conditions of real people
„Skrivanje iza Bolonje”: metonimija, metafora i pojmovno zamagljivanje u diskursu Bolonjskog procesa
This paper presents a cognitive linguistic account of metonymic and metaphoric meaning construction in the English language discourse related to the ongoing higher education reform process in Europe widely known as "the Bologna process". The analysis of the non-literal uses of the toponym Bologna in the pertinent discourse shows that the conceptualization and the discursive construction of the contemporary European higher education are significantly shaped by metonymic mappings in which Bologna serves as a "catch-all" metonymic vehicle with a range of often indeterminate target concepts, and by metaphoric mappings in which the conceptual complex bologna (for x) is structured in terms of various (and often inconsistent) source domains (motion, space, building, machine, plant, person, organized group, economy/trade, food/cooking), which results in unclear referential meaning and yet predominantly negative associative meaning. The theoretical considerations concern the benefits of the interdisciplinary dialogue between cognitive linguistic, (critical) discourse analysis, and relevance-theoretic approaches to meaning.U radu se na teorijskoj podlozi kognitivne lingvistike, na materijalu iz engleskog jezika,
konceptualizaciji i diskurzivnom oblikovanju savremenog evropskog visokog obrazovanja
diskursa i pragmatičke teorije relevancije
Librarians as Information and Knowledge Managers
The immense stock of information and knowledge available in the twenty-first century imposed the need for designing a new kind of profession or modifying existing ones, especially the librarian profession, and educate professionals in collecting and disseminating the aforementioned. If the creation of new knowledge is to be understood in terms of Ikujiro Nonaka's "spiral of knowledge" theory, then future library professionals should be instructed as to enable the process of converting data into information, but particularly focus on facilitating transfer of information into knowledge. In order to successfully manage the ever-growing number of information and knowledge, it became indispensable to educate and train a new type of library officers, which could take over the role of mediators and enable users to access relevant information, and, thus, help them create new knowledge themselves. This would require instructing future library professionals in managing available information and knowledge in the most optimal way, performing both tasks of Information, as well as of Knowledge Managers. Furthermore, as the world library funds are being increasingly digitalized, the role of libraries and librarians has changed forever. Library professionals had to adapt to the rapid development of information and communication technologies and use digital tools as much as possible in order to evolve within their profession. Thus, a new type of librarian or information and knowledge manager should be able to provide library users with adequate information and knowledge by means of appropriate software. This is precisely why it is essential to educate librarians, during their basic academic studies, as to how to use digital methods and tools in order to achieve greater efficiency in searching data and overall easier distribution of information and knowledge to library users. This paper will deal with the new role of librarians as information and knowledge managers and their education, as well as with the influence that libraries, particularly digital libraries, have on information and knowledge management in general. Finally, this paper will emphasize the efforts of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade to incorporate these new tendencies within the curriculum of courses offered at its Department of Library Science and Information Technology

Is the New Paradigm in the Balkans Old Enough? An Introduction to Postpoetics, the First Step
The paper circles around difficult issues that concern the relationship between life and poetry, trying to create a new paradigm through their ultimate identification. Poetry of life might prove to be the oldest paradigm for both literature and human existence and a challenge for this millennium. As paradigmatic literary feasts from Homer's Iliad to the love dinner in Pavic's best-selling novel Dictionary of the Khazars show, representations of real life are not the only thing making a poetic creation 'seem' alive. A Homeric transgression from tragedy to the vital power of poetry, embodied in Achilles' transformation from a hero into a poet, comes after politics and after poetics. It also appears to be necessary if we truly wish to eradicate old conflicts and prejudices that have haunted the Balkans, among other parts of the world, for too long
