    No full text

    General features of hiber no-english

This paper gives an outline of Hiberno-English, starting with its historical background and the most prominent features which distinguish it from other varieties of English. I briefly described its pronunciation, morphology, syntax and vocabulary, i.e. features common to all regional subvarieties, and every feature is followed by at least one contextualized example. Even though Hiberno-English is gradually changing towards British and American standards and slang, it manages to preserve its uniqueness

    Plato: The poet

Essay is an inter-disciplinary approach to the problem of Plato's view of Poetry: trying to seize it both in the semantic depth of the platonic text itself and in its cultural context. Poetry is deeply rooted in the divine - its sacerdotal dimension is one of the main problems both in the philosophical aim to compete with poets and in their attempt to understand the poetic phenomenon in the logical terms. Ambiguity of Plato's criticism is equally visible in the poetical quality of his own text and in the constant identification of the intra-textual voices with poets. This essay is trying to enlighten some of that ambiguity's aspects and implications

Probírají se výrazný segmenty v soudobém přezkoumáni a kritickém zpytováni dĕdictví a významu české meziválečné avangardy: publikováni dosud nezveřejnĕných práci a memoárů, vztah české literární avangardy a jiných avangardních smĕrů dvacátých a třicátých let XX století - tendence interdisciplinárních bádání a rozebíraní otázky aktuality avangardních myšlenek v součásné literatuře

Cosmogonies and theogonies in the oldest work of Japanese literature

Svaki mitološko-religijski sistem obuhvata čitav niz različitih motiva o postanku univerzuma. Za japansku mitologijuje karakteristično je poistovećivanje kosmogonije sa teogonijama i etiološkim mitovima, budući da antropomorfno božanstvo - kami, istovremeno personifikuje nastanak različitih elemenata žive i nežive prirode, i civilizacijskih tekovina. Nakon spontanog nastanka prvih bogova, teogonijski procesi nastavljaju se polnim sjedinjavanjem para bogova - demijurga. Nadalje, bogovi japanskog panteona uglavnom nastaju različitim metamorfozama. Each mythology and every religion in the world have their own cosmogonies i.e. different myths and theories of the genesis of the universe. What is characteristic of the Japanese mythology, is the identification of cosmogony with the theogonies and etiological myths, since the deity - kami at the same time personifies the origin of various elements of the animate and non-animate nature, and the achievements of civilization. After the spontaneous genesis of the first gods, the theogonical processes continued by sexual intercourse of the couple of gods - demiurges. Further on, the gods of the Japanese pantheon mainly originated by miscellaneous metamorphoses. Among other things, either the excretions, or the blood and parts of the body of the murdered god are transformed into the divine - kami, whose name signifies what element is personified. After the god’s return from the Land of the Dead, the impurity and the different objects which the god carried with him are transformed into deities. Finally, the deities developed also by parthenogenesis, from parts of the sword or jewels in possession of the divine couple

Language ideology and standardization: The history and the future of the Serbian standard variety

    No full text
In this paper, Geeraerts' (2002) taxonomy of cultural models of language standardization is used in order to analyze the history and the possible future of the Serbian standard variety. Without entering into a discussion about the relationship among the varieties which were considered, and to a greater or lesser degree included into the first phase of standardization of the linguistic variety in question, and without taking into consideration the participation, contribution, and political interests of the Serbian and the Croatian parties during the initial standardization in the 19th century, a claim is made herein that the standardization of Serbian based on cultural and political principles established by Vuk Karadzic is definitely over. Consequently, the standardization process at the beginning of the 21st century needs to take into consideration the new scientific and socio-historical context (postmodernism in scientific research and interpretation, as well as language policies which oscillate between the extremes of linguistic ecology and English as the global lingua franca). Serbian language planners should, therefore, engage not only in corpus policy and planning, but also in language acquisition planning, i.e., they should consider the role and content of linguistic materials in the educational process, as well as the relationship between Serbian and other European languages (Serbian and the regional/minority languages in our educational system, Serbian and other European small- and large-area languages, design and administration of tests of Serbian as L2 recognized by the international institutions, such as ALTE, etc)

    Nedoobrazy starikov v proizvedenijah Harmsa

Na rjade primerov harmsovskoj prozy my rassmotreli eto "soveršenstvo s nebol'šoj pogrešnost'ju", čast' kotoryh predstavlena v etoj rabote

On some sources of Koder's mythology

This paper tries to discern esoteric and occult motifs in poetical work of Đorđe Marković Koder. His acquaintance with cabbala can be recognized in quotations from Sepher Yetzirah (letters EMeS). Myth of fallen angels who revealed secrets of heaven to the Mother, has its sources in apocrypha and esoteric texts (The Book of Henoch, Zohar) - the story of nefilim, fallen angels who, seduced by women, taught magic to mankind. Cult of the Mother, so important for Koder's Mythology, can be traced back from gnosticism and medieval heresies to freemasonry of the 18. century (cult of Isis as the Mother of Nature, e.g). His view of language is paralleled in esoteric ideas about primeval, adamic, heavenly language. While making his mythology Koder relied mostly on European scholarly magic and cabbala, which he probably found similar to folk magic he was also interested in
