The Effectiveness of Remote Patient Monitoring in Reducing the Risk of Rehospitalizations in COVID-19 Patients: A Meta-Analysis

    No full text
An integrated analysis of various Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) studies is needed to evaluate the reduction rate of the risk of rehospitalization in COVID-19 patients. This meta-analysis aimed to provide an overview of the effectiveness of RPM. A literature search through online databases (PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, ProQuest, and Embase) was conducted from 2019 to 2022. After using the Cochrane Collaboration\u27s risk of bias tool, five studies on COVID-19 were selected. Based on the data collected from 2,685 participants (intervention = 1,060, control = 1,625), the use of RPM was found to reduce rehospitalization by 0.56 times compared to not using RPM (I2 = 9%; n = 2,685; OR 0.56 [95% CI 0.39-0.82]; p-value = 0.003). According to the characteristics analysis, sex, comorbidity of hypertension, heart failure, obesity, chronic lung, and chronic kidney disease had no significant effect on the risk being studied. It was only the comorbidity of diabetes that showed a significant impact. Both RPM intervention duration and long-term monitoring effectively reduced rehospitalization (\u3e14 days). In brief, RPM may reduce hospitalizations in response to an impending epidemic. Future research should look into using RPM to treat chronic post-hospitalization conditions

Compatibility Between the Indonesian Competition Law and Indonesia’s Climate Change Mitigation Policy Under The UNFCCC Paris Agreement 2016: Quo Vadis?

    No full text
To overcome the global climate change crisis, the Government of Indonesia (GoI) ratified the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Paris Agreement on Climate Change on 22 April 2016, imposing quasi-legal obligations on contracting states to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions based on Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) until 2030. As a contracting party of the Paris Agreement, Indonesia has submitted an Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (ENDC), increasing its GHG emission reduction target from 31.98 percent to 43.20 percent by 2030. Pillar II of the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, Indonesia has also reaffirmed its commitment to climate change mitigation nationally and globally to reduce GHG emissions by 34 to 41 percent from the baseline scenario by 2045. Based upon the holistic interpretation of the Indonesian Competition Law Number 5/1999 in conjunction with Article 33 paragraphs (1), (2), and (4) of the Indonesia 1945 Constitution, the Competition Authorities must undertake the sustainability mandate, including climate change mitigation actions, The Indonesian Supervisory Commission for Business Competition (KPPU) in collaboration with other Ministries, the Indonesian Supreme Court (MARI), and the House of Representatives (DPR) must, by the Indonesian Competition Law (Law Number 5/1999), integrate the climate change mitigation policy and environmental preservation endeavours both in the formulation of rules and enforcement measures. The Indonesian competition authorities can, among others, generate the ‘Block Exemptions’ as a discretionary instrument and as a provisional antitrust enforcement policy. A prudent comparative study of competition law and practices in selected jurisdictions reveals that the Indonesian competition authorities can exempt environmentally oriented or sustainability agreements or transactions from traditional prohibitions through five methods, such as the structured rule of reason approach to guarantee the principles of proportionality and accuracy. This study endeavors to provide a feasible contribution to accelerating the climate change mitigation efforts by the government and the stakeholders from the perspective of competition law and practice. In order to enable structured analysis and provide optimal results, this research employs the normative juridical method coupled with a comparative law approach over the European and German competition laws

ILUSI KEMISKINAN DAN HIPERREALITAS DALAM FILM \u3ci\u3ePOURRIS GÂTÉS\u3c/i\u3e (2021)

    No full text
This study examines the representation of the bourgeois class in the film Pourris Gâtés (2021) by Nicolas Cuche through the theoretical lens of Jean Baudrillard’s concept of hyperreality and Fredric Jameson’s notion of pastiche. The research problem focuses on how Pourris Gâtés depicts the simulated social transformation of the bourgeois class through the illusion of consumerism and hyperreality. The study employs film discourse analysis using both narrative and visual approaches, grounded in media ideology theory, hyperreality, and the consumption of signs. The findings indicate that the main characters undergo a symbolic transformation rather than a structural change. Their identities are constructed through the consumption of luxury goods and social relations that function as status symbols, rather than through labor or authentic experiences. Poverty is aesthetically represented as a moment of learning rather than as an oppressive structural reality. The jobs taken on by the main characters serve as educational stages that remain under the control of privilege. In this way, Pourris Gâtés demonstrates how the bourgeois class sustains itself through a narrative of hyperreality framed within a moralistic aesthetic

    No full text
The development of Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 has caused social inequality in Salembaran Jati Village because this development project involves the eviction of agricultural land and the relocation of residents to Kampung Jati Baru, creating new challenges in the social aspect. The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of residents and the inequality of access to primary needs felt by residents of Salembaran Jati Village due to the construction of PIK 2. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study refers to the dimensions of sense work and meta criteria of justice in the Good City Form theory by Lynch (1981). The results of the study show that the construction of PIK 2 caused the residents of Salembaran Jati Village to lose their village identity with the loss of agriculture and fishponds as well as their livelihoods as farmers and fishermen, limited access to public facilities, and minimal participation in the development decision-making process. Relocation to Kampung Jati Baru does not meet the basic needs of residents, and it is characterized by poor basic infrastructure and inadequate water quality. In addition, the PIK 2 boundary wall further strengthens the social inequality between PIK 2 residents and residents. This study concludes that the construction of PIK 2, although aimed at creating a modern, environmentally friendly area, still creates significant social inequality. The need for community participation in planning, PIK 2 developers by considering the needs of residents and the central and regional governments that have control over this development
