Education as a common good is like unfulfilled KEN message for posterity
The Commission of National Education is one of the most studied public institutions
in Polish history. It would seem that we know everything about it, and our knowledge
is true. It turns out, however, that the description of its origin and its achievements is
full of stereotypes that, with their simplifications and an unwarranted certainly, limit the
freedom of research and portraying the greatness of the Commission compared with its
actual achievements. The study of stereotypes are most appropriately carried out by the
methods used for the social sciences. The sociological approach to the subject opens up new possibilities of interpretation while maintaining respect for the existing results source

The educational activity of Cracow Academy in the time of The Commission of National Education
In the time of the reform implemented by Hugo Kołłątaj in Cracow Academy, professors of
that university were obligated to popularize knowledge. From 1782, there were organized
public sessions, during which professors of the University disseminated the information
about their achievements in meetings with inhabitants of Cracow. From 1780 popular
lectures on mechanics organized by Physics College, which were designed for craftsmen,
proved an interesting form of cooperation with the community of Cracow. In 1780, the
Medical Department, in order to provide a better professional preparation of midwives
and barber surgeons, ran training courses designed for the two vocational groups on
a systematic basis. However, those initiatives met with a very poor response from the
local community. It was not until the 1820s that craftsmen themselves initiated launching
training courses. They were the first attempts at developing an organized educational
activity in the lands of Poland. That activity of the extra muros university character was
addressed to adults

On using eye-tracking methodology for analysing students' strategy of balancing chemical equations
The paper presents the results of eye-tracking research run in order to determine students' strategies of balancing chemical equations for the reactions between adds and hydroxides which were illustrated by the example of the reaction between sulfuric acid (VI) and sodium hydroxide as well as between sulfuric add (VI) and aluminium hydroxide. The research has shown that 3rd grade university students at the bachelor level of chemistry with biology use different strategies, even when they solve similar problems
Do individual wisdom concepts depend on value?
Psychological wisdom concepts were reviewed. 304 people aged 18-85 were tested with use of a questionnaire aimed at learning individual (popular) wisdom concepts. Popular wisdom concepts take into account broad declarative and procedural knowledge, life experience of a person and the features of his/her character. Explicitly, under a half of respondents take the following wisdom criteria into account (also acknowledged by the psychological concepts): balancing own profits with concern for others and relation to existential problems, such as sense and direction of life. The respondents lack the consciousness that wisdom is associated with: acting for common (global) good, deep and conscious reflection of value system (consciousness of subjective value system relativity, reflecting on the issue of objective values), the consciousness of limited nature of knowledge and logical thinking and developing relativistic and dialectic thinking. 5 clusters were differentiated, representing popular wisdom concept types. In order to verify the hypothesis about the connection between popular wisdom concepts and the value system of the research participants, value questionnaires were used: Scheler’s (SWS) and Schwarz’s Portrait Value Questionnaire (PVQ). The hypothesis was confirmed. Popular wisdom concepts (what people consider to be wisdom) are connected with values appreciated by them
Education to family life - students' opinions and claims
In my article I present the results of my research on education to family life at schools which 1 conducted among first year students who studied in our Institute of Security and Civic Education. My aim was to find out what Polish students think about that subject, which seems to be an important factor of pedagogical culture: how they evaluate it and what expectations they have concerning the program and issues that children and youth are suppose to learn during those lessons. I also asked my respondents if they believed education to family life was necessary and if it should be obligatory. Finally, I presented the results as well as some conclusions
The role of the ecosystem in the shaping of social security in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
Ecosystems are complex and can be viewed at different scales and levels.
In the classical approach, the ecosystem is a system of organisms occupying
a habitat, together with those aspects of the physical environment with which they
interact. The social ecosystem does not mean the people, as the word socialcould
imply. The social ecosystem is consists of firms and institutions. By contrast the
business ecosystem is an economic community supported by a foundation ofinteracting
organizations and individuals - the organisms of the business world.
Ecosystem is very important for social security. Its services are indispensable to
the well-being and health of people. This article presents a dynamic interaction
between people and ecosystem in Afghanistan. The Author presents the meaning
of different ecosystems, changes in the Afghan ecosystem and its influence on
human well-beeing. She also describes international support for the Aghan food
security, agriculture, and access to the safe water
Strategie nuklearne w okresie pozimnowojennym
Zakończenie zimnej wojny stanowi wyraźną cezurę w kształtowaniu ładu międzynarodowego. Przełom lat 80. i 90.
Eskalacja
wielobiegunowego.
pozostaje ważnym elementem globalnego systemu bezpieczeństwa i polityki państw dysponujących jej zasobami.
Czas „łagodnych rewolucji”, jakie w zdecydowanej większości towarzyszyły końcowi zimnej wojny i demontażowi bloku
a w szczególności oznaczał zwycięstwo politycznego liberalizmu i Wilsonowskiej triady idei – demokracji, pokoju i
wolnego rynku. Joseph S. Nye jr. deklarował że w świecie pozimnowojennym „miękkie czynniki siły”, np. dyplomacja,
prawo międzynarodowe, atrakcyjność ideowa i kulturowa stanowią równie ważne elementy kształtowania polityki
bezpieczeństwa jak „twarde czynniki siły”, czyli przede wszystkim supremacja militarna. Jednak wydarzenia pierwszej
połowy lat 90. nakazały daleko idącą ostrożność w formułowaniu optymistycznych wizji ładu światowego, w którym
aspekt siły militarnej miał zostać sprowadzony do mało znaczącego uzupełnienia politycznych, ekonomicznych,
społecznych, kulturowych i środowiskowych elementów architektury bezpieczeństwa.
W książce zaprezentowano strategie i doktryny obejmujące polityczną i militarną rolę broni nuklearnej w okresie
pozimnowojennym, analizę opublikowanych dokumentów państw o potencjale jądrowym i innych źródeł, w tym wypowiedzi
przedstawicieli elit politycznych i wojskowych, analizę kontekstu strategicznego, potencjału ilościowego i
Humanistycznym Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Krakowie
