    Fabricating IoT devices using Sigfox and processing data

    application/pdfWe are developing a system that uses Sigfox to measure the environmental data of living spaces, such as temperature, humidity, air pressure, and carbon dioxide concentration, 140 times a day. Furthermore, we designed and manufactured a printed circuit board to integrate the sensor with an Arduino processor. In this study, we applied the system we have developed so far to agriculture.     application/pdf本学環境土木工学科では,土木工学での学びの第一段階として1 年次生に対し,代表的な土木構造物である橋梁に関する専門科目を設置している.講義では橋梁の機能や名称,橋梁の分類,構造形式,設計方法の説明を行っているが,加えて実習として紙で橋梁を作成し,使用材料量,耐荷重を競うコンテストを実施している.これは当該講義で学んだ橋梁の仕組みを実際に体験することにより理解を深め,構造力学の学びへのスムーズな接続を目的として実施している.本論文では強度を向上させる方策,紙材料の問題点について説明し,コンテストに提出された学生の工夫についてそれぞれ紹介し,構造力学的観点から解説を行った.departmental bulletin pape

However, to fully leverage this performance, it is essential to manage various types of buckling issues, primarily including flexural buckling, local buckling, and lateral-torsional buckling. This paper presents experimental approaches for learning about steel structures, focusing on experiments related to flexural buckling, local buckling, and lateral-torsional buckling, as well as themes that track the behavior of elastoplastic steel materials.     Stability of isophoronediamine under high-temperature conditions: molecular-dynamics simulations based on Reaxff.

    application/pdfUsing molecular dynamics simulations, we have investigated the behavior of isophoronediamine under high-temperature conditions. Simulations were performed using two types of Reaxff force fields. At room temperature, stable calculations of isophoronediamine were possible with either force field. Regarding the decomposition mechanism of the molecule under high-temperature conditions, it was observed that C-N bond breaking occurred around 2500 K with one of the force fields. With the other force field, a C-C bond was broken and a branched chain-like structure was observed. The temperature at which these bonds breaking occurred was found to differ depending on the force field used. Additionally, simulations were also performed in the presence of water to observe its influence on the decomposition process.departmental bulletin pape

    application/pdfSteel structural members show a spindle-shaped hysteresis, while exposed column bases are shown to have a slip-type or double-flag-type hysteresis shape. Consequently, in the first story of frames with exposed column bases, different types of hysteresis shapes are mixed. Alternatively, to form a full-story collapse mechanism while maintaining the elasticity of the columns, it is necessary to track the incremental stresses in the columns after the surrounding members yield. However, as mentioned above, the mixing of different hysteresis shapes complicates the stress increments in the columns and may impose a significant load on them. In this study, derive the conditions for plastic hinge formation at the top ends of first-story columns, taking into account the hysteresis shape of exposed column bases, and examine the consistency with time-history response analysis results.departmental bulletin pape

    Preliminary Semiconductor Process Education Using Nanohub

    application/pdfIn 2002, the National Science Foundation created the Network for Computational Nanotechnology(NCN), which links universities supporting the National Nanotechnology Initiative by bringing computational tools online, making such tools easy to use, and providing educational materials in support of their use. NCN has also created a unique cyberinfrastructure to support its website, nanoHUB.org, through which researchers, educators, and professionals can collaborate, share resources, and resolve current problems in nanotechnology.  Using a TCAD Lab program available on the Nanohub website, it is possible to simulate oxidation and diffusion, which are the basis of semiconductor processes, along with pn junctions, bipolar transistors, MOS capacitors, and MOS transistors, which are the basis of electronic devices. We introduced introductory semiconductor process education to the semiconductor process engineering lectures of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Graduate School of Engineering of Hiroshima Institute of Technology by using the simulation method and results, i.e., by introducing the virtual experimental results and theories of semiconductor processes.departmental bulletin pape

    Python による幾何学図形生成を題材とした高校向けSTEAM 教育

    application/pdfSTEAM 教育の教材として,Python プログラムを用いたコンピュータグラフィックスにより美しい幾何学図形を生成する電子教材を開発し,高等学校の2023年度の授業で実施した.その結果を踏まえ,電子教材に生成図形の表現力を向上させるプログラムを追加し2024年度の授業で実施した.生徒は16名であった.授業最終回に行ったアンケート結果からSTEAM の構成要素であるSTE(Science, Technology, Enginerring),A(Art),M(Mathematics)に関する教育効果を評価した.以下の点から全項目について教育効果があったと考える.A を「好きなものに夢中になるためのあそび心」と捉えると,全員が楽しさを感じたと回答した.STE に関して,CG プログラミング技術の面を評価すると,教材として提供していないプログラムを生徒が独自に作成して作品の表現の幅を広げた.M に関して,数学への理解が深まったとの問いに,ほぼ全員が深まったと回答し,また,テーマの魅力に関する問いに,美しい図形の生成原理に数学が関係することを知って魅力を感じたとの4 件の回答があった.departmental bulletin pape

    Comparison of local structure of amorphous tobermorite based on empirical and non-empirical molecular dynamics simulations

    application/pdfThe local structures of amorphous tobermorite are studied using both classical and ab initio molecular dynamics(MD)simulations. The density obtained from the classical MD simulations is lower than that from the ab initio MD simulations. In the ab initio MD simulations, a higher numberof SiO4 tetrahedra is observed compared to the amorphous structure obtained from classical MD. Additionally, network structures consisting of SiO4 tetrahedra are observed. Furthermore, the Ca-O correlations resemble those found in the crystalline state. These features imply that the layered structure of crystalline tobermorite is partially retained in amorphous tobermorite.departmental bulletin pape

    フランスの高等学校 生命と地球の化学(SVT)について ~高等学校1 年の特徴的な内容に焦点を当てて~

    application/pdfフランスの高等学校の教科「生命と地球の科学」(SVT)の内容に着目し,学習指導要領から3 か年の特徴を描き出し,特に必修となる高校1 年で扱われている内容について,教科書での扱いも踏まえて特徴を描き, 示唆を引き出した。特徴として, 3 か年を貫いて中学校と同様の3 つの大単元から構成されているものの,「人体と健康」を除く他の2 単元は,中学校のように生物と地球科学の内容で大単元が分かれておらず,現代的な課題を捉える視点から両者が統合され混在配置となっていた。必修の高校1 年では,扱い割合が少ないながらも地球科学の内容が取り上げられ,生命科学と地球科学の視点から土壌を捉え,農業を扱っていた。さらに,保健に相当する教科・科目が存在しないため,性教育,微生物,感染症などの内容が科学的な記述で取り扱われていた。SVT という教科が生命科学と地球科学を包括しており,その扱い割合を変えることで,日本では選択制により扱われなくなる内容も対応できていた。さらには領域をまたがる現代的な課題への対応ができていたことも,科学的な基礎的な記述を担う教科理科の科目の括り方のありようの示唆とした。departmental bulletin pape
