論 文 名： 高速道路の維持管理における画像解析技術の導入に関する研究 
(Dissertation Title) 
 
四国地方の高速道路は，約580km整備されており，地域をつなぐ重要な路線となっている．ま
た，今後発生が予測される南海トラフ地震などの災害時には，物資を輸送する命の道としてその
重要性は高い．しかし，供用開始から既に38年が経過しており，増大する維持管理費をいかにし
て抑えるか，少子高齢化による今後の技術者の不足にどう対応するかが喫緊の課題となっている．
この状況は四国に限ったことではなく，全国の高速道路においても共通しており，今まさに，効率
的な維持管理技術の開発が求められている． 
近年，大量の教師データを基に形態の類似性を自動判別するAI（人工知能，Artificial Intelli
gence）は急速に技術が発展している．このAIを導入すれば，点検技術者の損傷判別支援など，
様々な業務において効率化が図られると考える．しかし，高速道路の維持管理においては，異常
の教師データの形態が多種多様でありながら，健全に対して異常のデータ数が少なくアンバラン
スであること，異常を健全と判別する危険側の見逃しを限りなく0に近づける必要があることが課題
となっており，AIの導入に際しては，これらの難しい課題をクリアする必要がある． 
本研究は，維持管理において効率化が求められている実際の事例に対してAIの導入を検討
し，前述の高速道路の維持管理特有の課題をクリアできる，AIの導入方法について研究するもの
である． 
第2章では，ルールベースの画像判別から近年活用されているConvolutional Neural Network
（以下CNN）に至るまでのAI技術の変遷と特性について整理するとともに，AIを活用する場合の
高速道路特有の課題，すなわち異常の形態が様々でありながら異常の教師データが少なく，か
つ異常を健全と判別する危険側誤判別を限りなく0に近づける必要がある理由と，業務の効率化
や将来的な劣化予測など，維持管理に求められるAI技術について整理した． 
第3章では，異常の形態が様々でありながら，危険側の誤判別を限りなく0にすることが求めら
れる事例として，赤外線サーモグラフィ法を用いた橋梁調査におけるAIの導入について検討を行
った．この事例では，赤外線サーモグラフィで得られる熱画像を判読する際の個人差による内部
損傷の見落としや，外乱の温度分布を内部損傷とする誤判別が課題であった．この課題に対して
CNNと，統計量を用いたAIについて検討し，判別手法により判別精度が大きく異なること，特徴
量を自動生成するCNNよりも，技術者が設定した統計量を用いたAI方が高い判別精度が確保で
きることを明らかにした． 
第4章では，異常のデータが極端に少ないという事例として，過去の高速道路沿線の小規模渓
流の崩落事象をもとに，AIを用いた高速道路沿線における崩落個所の類似地形検出を検討した．
この検討では，航空測量にて取得した崩落前の数値標高モデルDigital Elevation Model（以下，
DEM）を用いて解析を行った．極端に異常の教師データが少なくとも，データのサンプリング方法
を工夫することにより，崩落個所と類似性の高い箇所をAIで抽出可能とした．またAIの抽出箇所
について，現地踏査を行い崩落箇所と類似な地形を実際に確認するなど，AIの導入手法の妥当
性についても検証し，その有効性を確認した． 
第5章では，危険側の誤判別を限りなく0に近づける必要がある事例として，AIを用いた冬用タ
イヤの自動判別について検討を行った．この検討では，冬季の冬用タイヤ規制において車両を
停止させずに通過したタイヤのトレッド面をカメラで撮影し，AIで判別してスタッドレスタイヤである
か否かをリアルタイムに判別した．開発当初における教師なしにより画像判別や，ロジスティック回
帰分析，CNNにより判別を行い，手法の有効性や効果的な導入方法について検討した．その結
果，AIで判別した結果を安全側に判別する調整を行うことで，危険側誤判別を0としながら，約8
割の判別精度を確保できた．画像処理において，撮影時の環境などが複雑になればなるほど，A
Iによる判別は従来の手法に対して効果的であることを明らかにした． 
第6章では，維持管理に求められるAIの事例として，舗装路面に突発的に発生する穴（以下，
ポットホール）の予防保全に効果的なAIについて検討を行った．この検討では形状画像から画像
処理によって局所沈下量とMean Profile Depth（表面きめ深さ，以下，MPD）を取得し，損傷の進
行に影響を及ぼすと考えられる舗装構成，気象条件，交通量など，様々な変数についてAIを用
いて解析した結果，効果的な発生予測モデルを構築することが可能となった． 
上記のように，具体的な事例においてAIの導入手法の研究を行った結果，点検箇所のスクリ
ーニングなど，業務の効率化に寄与するAIによる画像解析技術の導入方法や，将来の劣化予測
に活用可能なAIを確立できた．これらの事例から，高速道路の維持管理における特有の課題に
対して，有効なAI導入方法について提案した．

論 文 名  黄河・長江中流域における磨製石斧の発展と地域性 
 
審査結果の要旨 
 馬氏は、本学位論文において、中国黄河中流域と長江中流域における新石器時代から青銅器時
代に使用された磨製石斧を対象として、その形態、機能、素材の時代差と地域差を明らかにし、
石材という地球資源の獲得法、伐採対象となる森林資源に着目し、それらの相関関係について研
究を行った。 
 本研究では、まず磨製石斧がもつ形態的属性として縦断面形と横断面形に着目し、その組み合
わせで石斧の類型化と編年を行った。そして従来の研究で「寛厚指数（幅厚指数）」や「厚斧率」
と呼ばれた石斧の機能係数に関して、その原理や計算方法を見直し、新たな機能係数として「Ｒ
ＴＷ」（the Ratio of Thickness to Width at the thickest part of the stone axe の略称）
を発案し、石斧の数値データに対して採用し、分析した。また、石斧の素材が川原石（円礫）、
露頭で採集された角礫に分けられることに着目し、その加工工程も検討した。また磨製石斧に後
続して出現する青銅斧も取り上げ、石斧と青銅斧の共存関係についても検討した。磨製石斧の実
査は、2023 年度後半期に河南、湖北、湖南、江西各省の所蔵機関で行い、そのデータ数は 240
点である。2020年度以前に陝西、山西、河南各省で実査した資料数と併せると総データ数は 480
点となる。 
 本研究の研究成果は、以下の４点に纏められる。 
（１） 磨製石斧の形態的特徴とその変化と地域差 
 対象地域の磨製石斧は、横断面形がトルＡ～Ｄの４類、縦断面形がα～γの３類に分類され、
それぞれの類型の組み合わせで総 12 型式が存在することが明らかとなった。そして機能係数Ｒ
ＴＷを採用することにより、Ｂγ、Ｄγ型式が最大値をもつことが示された。この両型式は黄河
中流域においては新石器時代末期に出現し、青銅器時代前期に最盛期を迎え、青銅斧が出現する
青銅器時代後期において衰退し、むしろモデル（a）の石斧生産が主流になることが判明した。
一方、長江中流域では新石器時代から青銅器時代にかけてもモデル（ａ）の石斧生産が主流であ
り、ＲＴＷも黄河流域には及ぶことはない。青銅斧の出現後、Ｂγ、Ｄγ型式が出現するものの、
ＲＴＷは黄河流域ほどではなく、しかしながらこの両型式が青銅斧と共存することが明らかとな
った。このように黄河中流域と長江中流域とで磨製石斧の主要型式と変遷が全く異なることが明
示された。 
（２） 磨製石斧の石材獲得法とその加工法に関する時代差・地域差 
 磨製石斧の素材と加工途中の半製品を検討した結果、Ａ類、Ｂ類が円礫、Ｃ類が平たい亜円礫、
亜角礫、Ｄ類が角礫を使用していることが明らかにされた。そしてＡ類、Ｂ類が両極打法による
表皮の剥離後、研磨、Ｃ類が石鋸を使った擦り切り後、研磨、そしてＤ類が敲打による整形後、
研磨という工程で製作されていた。とくにＤ類は、居住遺跡で素材や加工度の低い半製品が出土
することはほとんどなく、石材獲得地である露頭あるいは露頭付近の山間の小集落で整形されて
いることが予想される。磨製石斧の型式が、石材の種類、加工技術と対応していることが初めて
示された。同時に、Ａ類からＣ類までが川原石、Ｄ類が露頭採集礫であることから、石材の獲得
法に時代的な変化があるだけでなく、露頭採集礫の採集・加工という活動について黄河中流域が
先行するという石材獲得法における時代差・地域差も明示された。 
（３） 磨製石斧の型式と森林資源の対応関係 
 黄河中流域はもとより長江中流域よりも寒冷であり、新石器時代末期から青銅器時代にかけて
も森林相は温帯落葉樹よりも木質の堅い針葉樹が卓越していたことが環境考古学によって判明
している。一方、長江中流域では木質の柔らかい常緑広葉樹が卓越し、居住遺跡では建築材とし
て竹が発見されることも少なくない。このような森林資源の地域差がＲＴＷ値の高いＢγ、Ｄγ
型式の磨製石斧が必要性を促進した可能性が示された。 
（４） 中国青銅器時代論に与える磨製石斧研究のインパクト 
 中国の青銅器時代とは夏王朝、殷王朝が継起した時期を差し、世界的には初期国家段階とさえ
評価され、実際に数多くの青銅製容器が発見されている。しかしながら本研究は、この時代にお
いても建築、土木に必要とされる木材の獲得において、磨製石斧こそが唯一の伐採具であること
を示した。つまり青銅器時代と信じて疑われない夏、殷王朝は石なくしては宮殿も城壁も建造で
きなかったのである。石器時代、青銅器時代、鉄器時代という国際的な時代区分である三時代法
は、あくまでも利器の材質を指標としている。とするならば本研究は、夏、殷王朝が石器時代の
範疇にあることを示し、中国の青銅器時代の特異性を明らかにした点で比類するものがない。  
 
 提出された学位論文の研究成果に関連する成果は、査読付きの国際学術雑誌に１編受理されて
いる。本学位論文の公聴会は令和６年２月 19日に開催し、約 35分の発表と 20分の質疑応答が
行われた。引き続いて、学位論文審査委員会を開き、本論文の内容を厳正に審議した結果、審査
委員が全員一致で、博士（理学）の学位を授与するのに値するものと判定した。

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) projected, in its Diabetes Atlas, that over 90% of global 
diabetes cases are attributed to Type 2 diabetes. In Japan, one of the world’s fastest-aging nations, the estimated 
number of individuals with glucose intolerance-related health issues, including diabetes, has been continuously 
increasing over the past three decades. Despite the diverse array of antihyperglycemic agents at our disposal, over 
50% of individuals diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes mellitus fail to attain internationally acknowledged blood 
glucose targets, making dietary therapy an important part of the treatment regimen. Rice is a major staple in the 
diets of East Asian populations. Numerous meta-analyses have shown an association between high white rice 
consumption and a higher risk of diabetes. High-amylose rice (varieties with over 25% amylose content) is 
absorbed more slowly in the gut compared to low-amylose rice, and it results in lower levels of postprandial blood 
glucose. The quantity of the research suggests that a comprehensive review of these diverse findings is necessary. 
With the development of IoT technology, remote intervention studies have demonstrated effectiveness 
comparable to face-to-face methods. Therefore, in intervention studies testing the functionality of foods, we 
should explore and implement remote research methods as much as possible and establish and validate remote 
survey techniques. This paper is therefore divided into three research parts: in the Study 1, we employed both 
national and international literature databases to conduct a review of the data associated with the consumption of 
high-amylose rice and its impact on postprandial blood glucose levels. In the Study 2 We examined the effect of 
consuming Hoshinishiki, a type of high-amylose rice, on postprandial glucose as measured by Continuous 
Glucose Monitoring (CGM) in diabetes patients. In the Study 3 we examined the differences in blood glucose 
levels between simple capillary blood sampling and venous blood sampling, and whether these differences affect 
the conclusions regarding blood glucose differences in intervention studies.  
To confirm the relationship between high-amylose rice intake and postprandial blood glucose levels, the 
Study 1 followed the PRISMA statement guidelines and gathered literature related to high-amylose rice and its 
impact on postprandial blood glucose levels, using the keywords "high amylose rice," "glucose," and "glycemic 
index." The literature search included articles published between January 1984 and April 2024, and it was 
conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar, and Ichushi Web (Japanese). The literature search yielded a total of 
1,254 articles, 17 were used after screening. Key information was extracted and summarized from each article, 
including study design, country/region of the study, participant characteristics, study methods, outcome 
assessment/results (mean postprandial area under the curve (AUC)/incremental area under the curve (IAUC) 
values, GI, and glycemic load), and rice amylose content. Results showed that in the studies comparing the AUC 
or IAUC, 9 out of 14 reported significantly lower postprandial glucose AUC or IAUC in individuals after 
consuming high-amylose rice compared to those who consumed control rice (low-to-middle-amylose rice). 
Among the seven studies featuring an amylose content exceeding 27%, six studies showed a significantly lower 
glucose AUC or IAUC in individuals after consuming high-amylose rice. Furthermore, in ten studies focused on 
documenting the GI values, 4 classified high-amylose rice as a medium- to low-GI food. (Fig.1) The findings 
from study 1 suggested that there is a reasonable effect of high-amylose rice consumption on postprandial blood 
glucose. In particular, the effect on blood glucose suppression is related to the amylose content.

Given the international adoption of non-face-to-face intervention research methods, we explored the feasibility of 
remote intervention methods to assess the effects of high-amylose rice on blood glucose. The Study 2 was a 
single-blind controlled trial. The study involved 11 hospitalized patients aged 44-72 years, diagnosed with Type 
1 or Type 2 diabetes according to the Japanese Diabetes Association criteria (9 patients with Type 2 diabetes). 
The patients consumed high-amylose rice for 2 days (days 2 and 4 of the study and control rice for 2 days (days 
1 and 3 of the study). We measured a 24-h glucose level recorded by the CGM. Through visual inspection, we 
observed differences in the postprandial glucose on different rice intake days. To confirm the increase in 
postprandial glucose levels, based on the subjects’ starts of meals, we calculated the incremental area under the 
curve (IAUC) of the glucose levels for 2 h after each meal, the average glucose levels every hour for 3 h after 
each meal, and the postprandial glucose peak levels within 3 h after each meal. A linear mixed model was utilized 
to test the effect of high-amylose rice on the outcomes assessed by CGM. As shown in Fig 2, the TIR associated 
with high-amylose rice (81.72%) was significantly higher than that recorded for control rice (76.66%) (p=0.01). 
The mean glucose levels at 2- and 3-hours post-meal, and the postprandial glucose peak levels within 3 hours, 
were significantly lower with high-amylose rice compared to control rice (167.4, 141.4, and 197.2 mg/dL vs. 
188.0, 161.1, and 211.9 mg/dL, respectively). Similar associations were observed when the analysis was limited 
to patients with Type 2 diabetes. These results suggest that high-amylose rice has the potential to become a staple 
food that is more useful for glucose control than regular rice.

Diabetes is diagnosed by measuring glucose levels in the blood, which are typically assessed using either venous 
blood or capillary blood. Diabetic patients generally use capillary blood to measure their glucose levels by 
themselves at home. Although detection technology is continually improving, enhancing the convenience of 
glucose monitoring using capillary blood, accuracy and reliability persists. Potential errors in capillary blood 
measurements may obscure intervention-outcome relationships or suggest different associations. Study 3

explored blood glucose differences between capillary and venous sampling methods and assessed how these 
errors could impact conclusions in intervention studies. 
The study 3 is a single-blind (subject only) randomized crossover trial that involved 16 healthy 
individuals aged 18-49. A washout period of at least one day was included, and high-amylose rice porridge and 
regular rice porridge were provided on separate days. Each participant had finger capillary and venous blood 
samples collected at fasting and at 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes after consuming different types of porridge to 
measure blood glucose levels. We calculated the mean, standard deviation (SD), median, inter-quartiles and 
coefficient of variation (CV) for both capillary and venous blood glucose levels at each sampling time point. 
Bland-Altman analysis was performed to assess the variability, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was 
calculated to evaluate the correlation of blood glucose values between the two collection methods. Wilcoxon rank 
sum tests were used to test the median values of postprandial glucose levels and IAUC. The results indicate that 
postprandial capillary blood glucose levels at 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes were significantly higher than venous 
levels (p<0.05). The Bland-Altman scatter plot in Fig 3 shows poor agreement and systematic bias between 
glucose values obtained by the two sampling methods at each time point. A strong correlation (r=0.83, p<0.05) 
was observed on Spearman's rank correlation coefficient analysis (Fig 4). The incremental area under the 
postprandial glucose curve (IAUC) showed no significant differences between venous and capillary 
measurements for both types of porridge. The results of Study 3 indicate a systematic bias and a good correlation 
between capillary blood glucose and venous blood glucose. However, the difference in glucose levels between 
the two methods may not affect the comparative results of intervention studies.

In summary, high-amylose rice effectively suppresses postprandial blood glucose indicating its potential 
value in diabetes dietary management as a superior staple compared to regular rice. Additionally, the feasibility 
of remote intervention studies was preliminarily established, offering a reliable foundation for future research.
