    本研究室では、マウス、キーボード、リモコン等の操作が困難な障害を持った人に合わせて、WEBカメラや加速度センサを用いた障害者用インタフェースシステムを開発してきた。しかし、以前に発表したWEBカメラによるモーショントラッキング・システムでは、WEBカメラと測定対象となる手指の位置がずれると、測定される光強度が閾値とずれるので、精度面で問題がある事が分かった。そこで本研究では、これらの問題が解決出来るマシンビジョンの手法を用いて手指の画像認識を行い、そのパターンからマウスボタンや、リモコンボタン等の操作をコントロールする障害者支援用のインタフェースの開発を目指した。本研究は画像認識によるマシンビジョンを用いた障害を持った人が活用出来るユーザインタフェースの可能性を探るものである。departmental bulletin pape

    香川大学Kagawa University博士(医学)Objective: To clarify the relationship between 2-deoxy-2-[¹⁸F]fluoro-D-glucose (FDG) uptake of bone marrow and systemic inflammation in patients with newly diagnosed endometrial cancer.Methods: A total of 119 patients with untreated endometrial cancer underwent FDG PET/computed tomography (CT). For bone marrow FDG uptake, the mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean) of the five vertebrae (T11-12 and L3-L5) was measured and averaged (bone marrow SUV). The bone marrow-to-liver ratio (BLR) was calculated by dividing the bone marrow SUV by the SUVmean of the normal liver. FDG PET parameters were correlated with white blood cell count, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and C-reactive protein (CRP), albumin, and hemoglobin levels. They were also correlated with FIGO stage.Results: Bone marrow SUV and BLR showed significant positive correlations with white blood cell count, NLR, and CRP level and significant negative correlations with albumin level. BLR also showed a significant positive correlation with PLR. No significant differences in bone marrow SUV and BLR were apparent according to FIGO stage.Conclusion: Pretreatment FDG PET/CT in patients with newly diagnosed endometrial cancer may provide information on host systemic inflammation as assessed by bone marrow FDG uptake.doctoral thesi

    β-1,4-Galactan suppresses lipid synthesis in sebaceous gland cells via TLR4

    香川大学Kagawa University博士(医学)Sebum is a lipid mixture secreted from sebaceous glands of the skin. The excessive secretion of sebum causes acne vulgaris and seborrheic dermatitis, while its deficiency causes xerosis. Therefore, the appropriate control of sebum secretion is crucially important to keep the skin healthy. In the present study, we evaluated the effects of naturally occurring polysaccharides on lipid biosynthesis in hamster sebaceous gland cells. Among the tested polysaccharides, β-1,4-galactan, the main chain of type I arabinogalactan, most potently suppressed lipid synthesis in the sebaceous gland cells as analysed by oil red O staining. Toll-like receptor (TLR)4 inhibitors counteracted this suppressive effect and lipopolysaccharide, a TLR4 ligand, mimicked this effect, suggesting the involvement of the TLR4 signalling pathway. In the cells β-1,4-galactan significantly decreased mRNA levels of lipogenesis-related transcription factors (peroxisomeGraphical Abstract\includegraphics\bwartpath proliferator-activated receptor γ and sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1) and enzymes (acetyl-CoA carboxylase and fatty acid synthase) as well as the glucose transporter GLUT4. Furthermore, β-1,4-galactan increased the production of lactic acid serving as a natural moisturizing factor and enhanced the proliferation of sebaceous gland cells. These results suggest potential of β-1,4-galactan as a material with therapeutic and cosmetic values for the skin.doctoral thesi

    Subtyping of non-small cell lung carcinoma into adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma by cytological structural features

    香川大学Kagawa University博士(医学)Introduction: This study aimed to clarify the diagnostic structural features in cytology specimens that are useful in subtyping non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) into adenocarcinoma (ADC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SQCC).Methods: Cytology specimens (n = 233) of NSCLCs, which included ADCs (n = 149) and SQCCs (n = 84), were analyzed. The following cytological features were evaluated: isolated cell, flat sheet, three-dimensional cluster with irregular arrangement, papillary-like structure, micropapillary-like structure, acinar-like structure, palisading pattern, protrusion of nuclei at the periphery of the cluster, honeycomb pattern, streaming arrangement, three-dimensional sheets with regular arrangement, flattening at the periphery of the cluster, fuzzy pattern at the periphery of the cluster, and mutual inclusion.Results: ADCs exhibited significantly higher frequencies of flat sheet (p < 0.001), papillary-like structure (p < 0.001), micropapillary-like structure (p = 0.028), acinar-like structure (p < 0.001), and protrusion of nuclei at the periphery of the cluster (p < 0.001) than SQCCs. The latter exhibited significantly higher frequencies of streaming arrangement (p < 0.001), three-dimensional sheets with regular arrangement (p < 0.001), flattening at the periphery of the cluster (p < 0.001), fuzzy pattern at the periphery of the cluster (p < 0.001), and mutual inclusion (p < 0.001) than ADCs.Discussion: Cytological structural features, such as flat sheet, papillary-like structure, micropapillary-like structure, acinar-like structure, and protrusion of nuclei at the periphery of the cluster, indicated ADC, whereas streaming arrangement, three-dimensional sheets with regular arrangement, flattening at the periphery of the cluster, fuzzy pattern at the periphery of the cluster, and mutual inclusion indicated SQCC. Paying attention to these cytological structural features can enable the accurate subtyping of NSCLC into ADC and SQCC.doctoral thesi

    実行機能を反映する語想起課題の遂行中、時間経過に伴う検索効率の急速な低下現象が頻繁に出現する。本研究では、この現象と課題遂行中の前頭前野の賦活との関連と、手がかりを切り替えながら単語を報告するshifting(シフティング)の効果について検討することを目的とした。前頭前野の活動についてはNIRSによる脳酸素代謝変化を指標とした。結果として時間経過に伴う検索効率の急速な低下現象を確認するとともに、時間経過に伴うOxyHb濃度変化量の増加が認められた。シフティングの効果については確認されなかった。以上の結果より、時間経過に伴う検索効率の急速な低下現象の背後で、検索困難状態から脱するために実行機能が活動し、前頭前野の賦活に反映されていることが示唆された。departmental bulletin pape
