Mechanisms of Regulation of Cell Fate in Breast Development and Cancer.

    No full text
This chapter focuses on the mechanisms of regulation of cell fate in breast development, occurring mainly after birth, as well as in breast cancer. First, we will review how the microenvironment of the breast, as well as external cues, plays a crucial role in mammary gland cell specification and will describe how it has been shown to reprogram non-mammary cells into mammary epithelial cells. Then we will focus on the transcription factors and master regulators which have been established to be determinant for basal (BC) and luminal cell (LC) identity, and will describe the experiments of ectopic expression or loss of function of these transcription factors which demonstrated that they were crucial for cell fate. We will also discuss how master regulators are involved in the fate choice of LCs between estrogen receptor (ER)-positive cells and ER- cells, which will give rise to alveolar cells upon pregnancy and lactation. We will describe how oncogene expression induces reprogramming and change of fate of mammary epithelial cells before tumor appearance, which could be an essential step in tumorigenesis. Finally, we will describe the involvement of master regulators of mammary epithelial cells in breast cancer.SCOPUS: re.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

    Les couples sino-congolais

    No full text

(under contract) Casual Assemblies: Afterlives of Socialist Performance Culture in Beijing's Public Parks

    No full text
Over the past thirty years, China's public parks have been turned into stages for amateurperformances of socialist anthems by self-organized retirees who lived through the Mao era(1949-1976). Challenging previous interpretations in terms of political expression ornostalgia, Casual Assemblies explores the seeming paradox of displaying political messages inthe heart of the capital city while framing these gatherings as fun or self-entertainment.Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork in Beijing, this book takes these claims to non -seriousnessseriously. For at stake in these gatherings is the possibility of being non-literal and reclaimingthe sensuous pleasures of performing old tunes from “politics” (zhengzhi). The book theorizescasualness as a mode of engagement predicated upon the irrelevance of the correspondencebetween action and referential meaning. Through the making-casual of a cultural form oncesupposed to produce revolutionary commitment, parkgoers enact new experiences of beingin-public, togetherness, and shifting relationships to the Maoist past.info:eu-repo/semantics/inPress

Phèdre et les saisons: Autour du sentiment de la nature du fabuliste

    No full text
The world of the fable is usually linked in the collective unconscious to the feeling for nature, more specifically since La Fontaine. Some critics, albeit without analysing the issue in depth, have argued that such an attachment to the natural world was missing from Phaedrus' collection. A detailed examination of the way the fabulist tackles the theme of the seasons, scarcely present in his works, allows us to confirm, illustrate, and better understand this peculiarity. The writer prefers to focus on, show, and criticise human behaviour than to describe at length natural phenomena independent from the core of his subject.8 p. en secondes épreuves corrigées.info:eu-repo/semantics/inPres
