    Effectiveness of the mindfulness–acceptance–commitment approach: a meta-analysis

    No full text
The presented study evaluates the evidence base underpinning the use of the Mindfulness–Acceptance–Commitment approach (MAC) in applied sport psychology. To assess the effectiveness of the MAC protocol on improving mindfulness and psychological flexibility, and on enhancing sport performance and well-being among athletes, we used Robust Bayesian Meta-Analysis with Publication Selection Model-Averaging (RoBMAPSMA). In total, there were eleven controlled trials included in the meta-analysis. Results of the RoBMAPSMA show: a moderate model-averaged effect size estimate for developing mindfulness with strong evidence (g = 0.64, 95% CI 0.00–0.91, BFes = 25.35); a small model-averaged effect size estimate for experiential acceptance with anecdotal evidence (g = 0.36, 95% CI 0.00–0.92, BFes = 2.32); and a small model-averaged effect size estimate for improving sport performance with moderate evidence (g = 0.37, 95% CI 0.00–0.79, BFes = 3.27). Only one study assessed the effectiveness of the MAC protocol on well-being and averaged effect sizes ranged from 0.01 to 0.82. Based on the results of the meta-analysis, the Mindfulness–Acceptance–Commitment protocol can be effective in improving mindfulness. In addition, results suggest that the MAC protocol might be effective in improving sport performance. Currently available trials, however, do not provide sufficient evidence supporting the MAC protocol's effectiveness in developing psychological flexibility, experiential acceptance, and promoting well-being among athletes

Using Collaborative Immersive Environments and Building Information Modeling Technology for Holistic Planning of Production Lines

Large and complex building projects need many different experts from different engineering disciplines for different matters. But these experts each use their own IT tools that produce a lot of heterogeneous data. This leads to a strong fragmentation of competencies, what causes problems for interdisciplinary collaboration, because the data might be inconsistent, redundant or there are no interfaces to combine the data. These problems in collaboration increase the risk of planning mistakes that might significantly impair the overall project success. So only one database should be used for all engineering tasks to improve the transdisciplinary collaboration. The Building Information Modelling (BIM) working methodology enables the digital collaboration of virtual production planning and architecture tasks for developing a building. By means of lean optimization in combination with early integration of future-oriented production facilities, process-relevant production data can be included in the planning phase before construction begins. This article presents a real time immersive 3D virtualization system using the digital twin of complex buildings with a modern production line as the single source of truth and creates a consistent integrated data model, that enables transdisciplinary collaboration of all involved engineering disciplines. In this way, a continuous comparison can be made between the real construction project and its digital twin in an interactive, intuitive and collaborative manner. The same model is also used by production planners to optimize the material flow and in general the value chain of a production line through a holistic planning, which brings many benefits for all stakeholders

Versorgungs- und Vepflegungsmanagement: Ein Blick in die Welt der Hausgeräte

    No full text

Generation Z’s Opinion About AI in Recruiting

Currently, there are hardly any studies that evaluate the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) inrecruiting from the viewpoint of Generation Z (born between 1995 and 2010) as future employees. This article answers the question which are the opportunities and risks of using AI in recruiting from the perspective of Generation Z. To answer the question, the research uses primary data obtained among 20 Generation Z representatives inG ermany in 2023. The interview partners were asked to share their opinion in focus groups. Insummary, our study indicates that German Generation Z respondents see opportunities of AI in recruiting especially in regards to diversity and equal rights. Risks are seen concerning job loss in recruiting, especially for those employees who do not know how to perform complex tasks. Others are afraid of the security of their personal data due to a lack in AI or lack trust in the cyber security of companies
