Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal ArticleThis article analyzes the Communist movement of Koreans and the policy regarding Koreans in the Chinese Communist Party, in the North east region of China during the war of Resistance against Japan from the 1920s. These Koreans formed the Communist Party of Korea, promoting a Socialist Educational Movement. However, the Communist Party of Korea was incorporated into the Chinese Communist Party by directions of Communist International. It triggered ethnic confl ict between Chinese people and Koreans. Which was then resolved through the August First Declaration which changed the situation. This research clarifies the above described historical process.journal articl
Economic Development and Water Utilization in the Gansu Province, Northwestern China : A Tale of Two Cities
Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal ArticleThe study explores the relationship between the past economic development strategies and current water shortage in the Gansu Province, Northwestern China by examining the evidence from two cities, i.e., Jinchang(金昌） and Zhangye(张掖), which adopted different economic development strategies since 1949. The study presents the statistics together with the interview wesults during a fieldwork conducted in September 2008. The results of this study revealed that the large-scale development led by a proactive developmental state in the environmentally fragile areas in the fundamental reason of water stress and related environmental issues in the region.journal articl
