The Japanese Novels of Yi Gwang-su (李光洙) and the Dong-u hoe Affair (同友会) : From The Death of Granpa Man to Only by Heartfelt Contact
Get PDFapplication/pdfJournal Article本稿は、李光洙が同友会事件の前に書いた日本語小説「萬爺の死」（一九三六）と、事件後に書いた「心相觸れてこそ」（一九四〇）の二つの日本語小説を分析して、作品に内在する論理の変遷をさぐったものである。「萬爺の死」は日本の総合雑誌『改造』から依頼を受けて書いたもので、日本語で書いたこと自体は国家や民族とは関わりのない「尊重すべき趣味の問題」に属していた。だが、その五年後には朝鮮人読者のために朝鮮語で書くことを言明していた李光洙が、一流雑誌の依頼に応じて気軽に日本語で書いていることに、この時期の彼の精神的な弛緩と、その背後にある朝鮮社会の変質を見ることができる。一九三七年におきた同友会事件で「転向」を余儀なくされた李光洙は、「内鮮一体」という言葉を逆手にとって朝鮮人差別を解消させようと、日本人に向けて「内鮮一体」を訴える論説をいくつも書いた。また「内鮮一体」に関する『緑旗』の率直な論調に刺激を受け、同じ目的を小説によって達成するために、京城帝大を舞台にした日本語小説「心相觸れてこそ」と、朝鮮語小説「그들외사랑」を書いた。しかし戦時色の深まりとともに「内鮮一体」という言葉は「完全同化」の意味に変わっていき、李光洙もこの激流のなかに呑みこまれていった。journal articl
