Rip Van Winkle as Travel Writing
Get PDFtext紀要論文 / Departmental Bulletin PaperWashington Irving's "Rip Van Winkle," included in his The Sketch Book (1819-1820), is widely regarded as one of the first American short stories. This paper attempts to explore how the story can be seen as travel writing rather than short fiction. First, this paper maintains that "Rip Van Winkle" begins and ends from a traveler's point of view. Second, it states that Rip, the protagonist, plays a role of a traveler around the Kaatskill Mountains. It examines how Rip's visit to the mountains exhibits the characteristics of travel writing of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This genre is noted for a focus on the picturesque, the ancient, the Gothic, and the Celtic. In order to do this, this
paper compares "Rip Van Winkle" with Geoffrey Crayon's travel sketches of England in The Sketch Book, such as "Westminster Abbey," "The Christmas Dinner," and "Stratford-on-Avon." Food and nutrition education for high school women’s soccer club
Get PDFtext紀要論文 / Departmental Bulletin Paperアスリートへの栄養指導の研究は数多く報告されているが、高校女子運動部員を対象とした報告は十分ではない。本研究では、高校女子サッカー部員1，2年生12名を対象として、パフォーマンス向上に必要な栄養に対する意識を高め、不足しがちな栄養素の摂取を促し、さらに効率的な指導方法を見出すための栄養指導とその前後における食物摂取頻度調査を実施した。約8か月の間に全体栄養指導を4回と個別栄養指導を2回行った。全体栄養指導では、食事バランスの重要性とともに、女性アスリートが抱える主な健康上の問題である三主徴に関係するエネルギー、たんぱく質、鉄、カルシウム、ビタミンDの5項目について解説と指導を行った。個別栄養指導では、日本人の食事摂取基準2020の推奨量（または目安量）と食物摂取頻度調査から推定された摂取栄養素量との比較に基づき、具体的な食事改善提案を行った。栄養指導前後での栄養素摂取量変化について、栄養素間（5項目）と個人間（12名）を要因として繰り返しのない二元配置分散分析を有意水準0.05にて行った。その結果、栄養素間ではp 値が0.10となり有意差が得られなかったのに対して、個人間ではp値が7×10-8であり、有意に異なることが確認された。したがって、エネルギーと栄養素に関しては大きな偏りなく栄養指導が行われた一方、個人によって栄養指導の効果が異なっており、個別の意識付け及び環境要因の把握の必要性が示唆された。departmental bulletin pape

モミ（Abies firma）における材質育種および枠組壁工法用部材生産の可能性
Get PDFtext紀要論文 / Departmental Bulletin PaperThe stress-wave velocity of trees, dynamic Youngʼs modulus of logs, and bending properties of lumber were examined in Abies firma trees, which might be regarded as valuable species for producing lumber for wooden frame construction systems. Naturallygrown A. firma trees in a Pinus plantation were used in the present study. The mean values of the stress-wave velocity of stems was 3.05 km/s. Dynamic Youngʼs modulus of logs ranged from 5.79 to 10.09 GPa. The logs collected from 1.2 to 3.2 m above ground showed higher dynamic Youngʼs modulus value than those collected from 3.2 to 7.2 m above ground. Mean values of modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture (MOR) in static bending of lumber were 7.16 GPa and 47.7 MPa, respectively. In addition, preliminary estimated 5% lower tolerance limits with a 75% confidence level of the MOR was 35.1 MPa, suggesting that the lumber for wooden frame construction system can be produced from this species. A high correlation coefficient was not found between stem diameter and stress-wave velocity of the tree. Significant differences among trees were found in dynamic Youngʼs modulus. Based on the results, lumber with high Youngʼs modulus for wooden frame-construction systems can be obtained by conducting tree breeding for wood quality in this species.本研究では，枠組壁工法用部材生産のために，天然に生育したモミ（Abies firma）の立木の応力波伝播速度，丸太の動的ヤング率および板材の曲げ物性を調査した．立木の応力波伝播速度の平均値は，3.05 km/s であった．また，丸太の動的ヤング率は，5.79 ～ 10.09 GPa の範囲を示した．また，地上高1.2 ～ 3.2 m において得られた丸太の動的ヤング率は，地上高3.2 ～ 7.2 m 以上で得られた丸太と比較して高い値を示した．板材の平均曲げヤング率および曲げ強さは，7.16 GPa および47.7 MPa であった．また，予備的に求めたMOR の信頼水準75% の95% 下限許容限界値は35.1MPa であり，十分な強度性能を持つ板材が生産できる可能性が示唆された．立木の応力波伝播速度と幹直径の間には，高い相関関係は認められなかったが，丸太の動的ヤング率には個体間で有意な差が認められた．このことから，モミにおいては，材質育種によって，ヤング率の高い枠組工法用部材の生産が可能であることが示唆された．departmental bulletin pape
