A study of the effects of interacting with kindergarten children on the self-efficacy and teaching career aspirations of first-year university students
departmental bulletin pape
A study on Special support room: Questionnaire survey of elementary school and junior high school in City A
departmental bulletin pape
School and classroom design for inclusive education
departmental bulletin pape
Proposal of the classes that foster understanding and consideration for food allergies
departmental bulletin pape
Seasonal Events in March: Inheritance of Traditions to the Present Day
text紀要論文 / Departmental Bulletin PaperIn March, winter is over, and spring is in the air. The major March events are Hina-matsuri (the Girls' Festival), Higan (the equinoctial week), Shun-bun (the vernal equinox), White Day, and Easter. Japan has seasonal events for each month from January to December. Japan's traditional seasonal events have their origins in customs introduced by ancient China. The emperor and the aristocracy accepted them, and the events spread from the warrior class to the general population. They became firmly established and passed down from generation to generation as they merged with Japanese customs. Then, in the modern era, Japanese people received Western seasonal events. Newly accepted events coexisted with traditional festivals without destroying them. However, the social changes after the Pacific War have reduced the number of seasonal events held in each household. Even in this situation, the study and experience at school preserved several events. Some local governments have utilized them as tourism resources. In addition, they are effective for sales promotion and advertising, so the events will never disappear by being used to benefit the economic activities of commercial capital. While it may be inevitable that the essence of the event will change, it is better than nothing. The most well-known event in March is Hina-matsuri. The promotion of Hina dolls begins two months before the event, during the New Year. Although this event has a long history since ancient times, modern values no longer fit as fewer women believe that only marriage will offer them happiness. Following Valentine's Day in February, non-chocolate confectionery makers established White Day as a seasonal event in March. Late March brings Shunbun. Higan, including Shun-bun, signals the shift from winter to spring. Easter originates in Europe, like Valentine's Day, and marks the start of spring. As in the other months of the year, the seasonal events of this month are a mixture of those from China or the West blended with Japanese customs. People have passed down the events with historical traditions over time, even though they conflict with current values. New events created as part of commercial activities in the modern era will succeed or fail in Japanese society based on the sales of associated products.departmental bulletin pape
