Variations in weather conditions in the moment of application can cause losses inagricultural sprays. It can be concluded that garlic extract showednegative influence on the speed and the final percentage of carrot seed germination atconcentrations of 20 and 30%. It can be used without losses in the treatment of carrot seeds inconcentration of 10%. The treatment of carrot seeds by soaking for 1 minute in orange extractin 10 and 20% concentrations benefited seed germination and the development and growth ofcarrot seedlings.Although the plant extracts are effective in the treatment of seeds, there are reports of possiblenegative effects on germination, speed of germination and seedling emergence. The effect ofallelochemicals is discreet about each seed so that the germination process is less sensitivecompared to seedling growth, as these effects are only one secondary signaling occurringmolecular and cellular level. Therefore, this study aimed to verify the allelopathic effect ofplant extracts of orange and garlic on the germination of seeds and the further development ofcarrot seedlings from pre-germinated seeds. The work was carried out in seed analysislaboratory of Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná, Campus Luiz Meneghel with fivelots of carrot seeds 'Brasilia', acquired from registered company, free of health treatment inairtight containers. The plant extracts were prepared by infusion at concentrations of 10, 20and 30%, using orange peel and peeled garlic bulbs, manually crushed with a knife. Theywere divided into three experiments being with the objectives of: I - Set the appropriate timefor immersion of carrot seeds in orange and garlic extracts, where the seeds remainedimmersed in distilled extracts and water for periods of 15 and 30 seconds, 1, 2, 4 and 8minutes, and then measured the percentage gain in wet weight of the seeds; II - Check theeffect of the application of orange extracts and garlic in carrot seeds, dip or filter paper, through the first reading and germination tests; III - To investigate the effect of orange extractand garlic on the development of carrot seedlings from pre-germinated seeds (radicle ≥ 2mm). It can be concluded that garlic extract should not be used in the treatment of carrot seedsin any of the tested concentrations. However when used over role in the development ofseedlings can be safely used at a concentration of 10 % without causing damage to theseedling growth. The orange extract when used in the treatment of carrot seeds by soaking for1 minute and route role in concentrations of 10 and 20% received the germination of seedsand the development and growth of carrot seedlings

Asian soybean rust (ASR) caused by obligate biotrophic fungus Phakopsora pachyrhizi Syd. & P. Syd., Is a major disease that affects the culture of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.], Causing losses in production in many producing areas of the world. The specific resistance to P. pachyrhizi fungus was found, so far, in six locus, called Rpp1, Rpp1b, Rpp2, Rpp3, Rpp4, Rpp5 and Rpp6. However this locus does not confer full resistance to the pathogen, hindering the development of effective cultivars. Therefore, knowledge of the genetic variability in populations of P. pachyrhizi and isolates are essential for breeding programs can perform an efficient strategic planning against the fungus that causes Asian soybean rust. Therefore, the objective of this study was to extend analysis initiated by Darben et al. (2012), from the use of dominant and co dominant markers to estimate the molecular diversity between monourediniais isolates of P. pachyrhizi and to a population of spores of the fungus. After successive cycles monouredinial culture in a separate leaves were obtained DNA six isolated monourediniais and one population collected in soybean producing regions in the country. The amplification seven pairs of AFLP primers showed an average genetic diversity was between pairs from 21.88% -77.98% (NIS), the greater diversity in pairs found between the isolated LLRV212 (MT) and the population (PR). The highest similarity was found between 80.35% LCA4A12 isolated (MG) and LLRV212 (MT). The Isolated LGO 112 (GO) presented 30 unique brands and not clumped together in the cluster formed by the other. In terms of inoculum selection, molecular results indicated this material as a major material to be considered for virulence phenotype analysis and aggressiveness. The five amplified SSR primers showed no polymorphism. It is possible to suggest that at least five of the seven tested materials represent sources of genetically distinct inoculations. It will now be essential to observe the molecular variation corresponds to some degree the phenotypic variation observed in soybean plants differentiated response on the different materials of the fungus.

In an organic production system, the environment is preserved. Therefore, products that, directly or indirectly, affect the local ecology has its use unauthorized, favoring the present biota. The soil macrofauna of invertebrate, organisms with at least 10 mm in length and greater than 2 mm in width, are essentials for the full function of the soil ecosystem, they are known as soil engineers. This study aimed to analyze the invertebrates macrofauna biodiversity in a cane sugar organic farming system. Samples were collected in Jaboti, PR in summer and winter of 2014 and 2015. In the rural environment, the water, among other applications is used in the agriculturalspraying, as solvents and vehicles of agrochemicals application. This work had aspurpose to quantify the water consumption in the agricultural spraying in the years2014 and 2015, and to estimate the water consumption to the year 2024 for soybean, sugar cane, cotton, corn and wheat crops, and to estimate the logistic cost of watertransportation. It was utilized an average to the frequency and to the water volumeutilized in the agrochemicals application to the crops analysed. In field survey in 60rural producers in 10 federation states, program participants of quality improvementon agrochemicals application it was possible to determine characteristics of ruralproprieties that provide the cost estimative of water transportation logistic. The sugarcane (185.91 L ha-1) and wheat (182.22 L ha-1) presented the higher application rateand wheat (122.50 L ha-1) presented the lower application rate. Brazil consumedduring the harvest in 2014/20105, 41.87 Mm3 of water in agrochemicals application toattend the demand of evaluated crops. In 2024, the water consumption would bearound 18.35% that was consumed itself in 2014/2015, whether all applications wererealized with technology that enables less water consumption among the other utilizedin agriculture. In relation to water m3 cost as it increase the rural propriety size, thecosts also are elevated, however with highest utilization of water conveyor equipment(water truck) occurs the cost dilution and the cost of m3 water becomes lower. Theuses of agrochemicals application techniques that reduce the water volume per areaand alternatives to agricultural spraying frequency reduction may contribute to thewater available preservation and its reserves. The increase of the area cultivatedraises the technology used in the sprayings. The decrease of the area cultivateddecreases the cost of water m3 utilised in the spraying

Cultivation on a protected environment generates microclimate changes favorable to the development of vegetables, which has become very common in the past few years among homelike farmers due to the increased productivity in small areas. Given the great influence of different spectral characteristics in plant development, this research was conducted in order to evaluate the physical parameters of coverage in a protected environment with recyclable materials (PET - polyethylene terephthalate) compared to the coverage with low density polyethylene (PEBD) regarding the indicated climate conditions given to the vegetables cultivation. The experiment was carried out from July 27 to August 26, 2015 on the Campus of Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná, Bandeirantes, PR. The protected environments contained dimensions of 2x3 m, 2.5 m in the right foot of eucalyptus and fall of 20%, surrounded with anti-aphids mesh and with plastic film in the skirt with 60 cm high, coverage with green bottle PET roof, coverage with transparent bottle PET, coverage with PEBD of 100µm with and without diffuser, installed in the East/West direction. The experimental design was a factorial 4 x 3 (four environments x three schedules) + external environment for the collection of data regarding the air temperature and relative humidity maximum air, medium and minimum and factorial 4 x 2 (four environments x two schedules) for data from the exposure time for the solar radiation reading, luminance and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), in which it was studied the interactions of the factors by the analysis of variance and the means of the protected environments and for schedules compared by the F test at 5% of probability. In the protected environment A2 (coverage with green PET bottle) was registered the highest maximum and minimum internal temperature maximum in relation to the external environment. In the protected environment A2 (coverage with green PET bottle) was recorded a reduction of PAR and brightness compared to other treatments. The protected environment A4 (coverage with 100 µm without diffuser) presented less exposure time to read the solar radiation performed automatically by the spectroradiometer. The sources of variation: “protected environments” and “schedules” showed a significant interaction in the time of exposure to solar radiation reading. There was a significant reduction in the photosynthetically active radiation input (PAR) and light compared to the external environment in which the protected environment A2 recorded lower incidence of PAR and brightness compared to other treatments. A4 protected environment occurred less exposure time to read the solar radiation and interaction between sources of variation environments protected and the data acquisition time. The A2 environment showed a higher number of emerged seeds and emergency speed index, differing from the other treatments, which is the environment that provided better physical parameters for the smooth lettuce seed cultivation.Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq

    Get PDF
The volatility process can reduce weed control efficiency by herbicides and causeenvironmental contamination, as well, phytointoxication on sensitive crops, onceenvironmental conditions at the moment of application can influence this process. Theaim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two controlled conditions of relativehumidity in the volatility of herbicides. The experiment was conducted in a completelyrandomized design with five repetitions. The volatility of the herbicides 2,4-D,Trifluralin, Haloxyfop-P methyl ester, Glyphosate and Clomazone was evaluated inseven moments ( 1h, 2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h and 7h after deposition), in two relative humidityconditions of the air 47 and 70% (±2%) and temperature 25oC (±2°C). Volatility wasdetermined according to Brazilian Association of Technical Standards-ABNT (NBR13238:2014) and expressed as a percentage of volatilized material. Results indicatedthat volatility increases over the time and it was stabilized for all the herbicides afterthree hours of deposition. The indication of the relative air humidity will be necessaryto the methodology of volatility determination of the herbicides, once with the rise of47% to 70% there was a reduction at volatility of trifluralin. Volatility was decreasing forthe herbicides Haloxyfop > Glyphosate > 2,4-D > Trifluralin = Clomazone

Environmental conditions during phytosanitary products application on foliar surfaces can be a determining factor in evaporation physical processes and drip watering areas. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of temperature and the air relative humidity on the watering area and drops evaporation time after being deposited on the tomato plant leaves with different phytosanitary products in juices prepared with or without adjuvants. Calibrated drops with 1000 µm of diameter were deposited on the adaxial surface of tomato plant leaves and monitored up to evaporation under two environmental conditions (31 °C and 35 UR e 25 °C and 75 UR). Evaporation time was determined by the interval between drop deposition and its extinction. Products used for juice preparation were the following: CabrioTop®(2 g L-1), Kumulus®DF (2 g L-1), Nomolt®150 (0,250 ml L-1), Pirate®(0,250 ml L-1), Nimbus®(5,0 ml L-1), Li700®(1,5 ml L-1), CalSuper®(25 ml L-1), BoroSuper®(3,5 ml L-1) and FoliFósforo® (7,5 ml L-1). Products Cabrio Top®, Kumulus®DF, Nomolt®150 and Pirate® were tested alone (with distilled water) and a specific blend (CabrioTop®, Kumulus®DF, Nomolt®150, Pirate®, CalSuper®, and BoroSuper® FoliFósforo®), often it used by producers and tomato in greenhouse Bandeirantes-PR region. To assess drops spreading and evaporation on the surface, a system was developed to simulate different environmental conditions. The systems consists of a temperature and relative humidity control unit, a drops generator which generates drops similar to those used in agricultural field spraying (200 - 1000 µm) and a stestoscope equipped with a high definition camera to capture sequential images. In juices without adjuvants, the drip watering area increases at 31°C and 35% RH and evaporation time decreases. In general, the combination of products and environmental conditions affect the drip watering area. The tested mix brought significant improvement to the drip watering area in relation to most tested products. In juices with adjuvants, drops evaporation time was reduced at high temperatures and low air relative hunidity for most juices. Adjuvants action on the watering area and drops evaporation time depends on the product to which they were added.

The aim of this study was to establish, with an emphasis on cutting, concentration, time and temperature for staining, fast, efficient and reliable method for the tetrazolium test in carrot seeds. Seeds of eight commercial lots of carrots were used cultivar 'Brasilia', subject to the initial analysis for the determination of water content, germination test, first reading of germination, seedling emergence, emergence speed index, traditional accelerated aging and solution saturated NaCl (41 ° C for 48 hours). In the first study to evaluate the tetrazolium test method, after preconditioning the seeds were sectioned by two different cuts immediately immersed in tetrazolium solution (2, 3, 5 triphenylmethyl chloride) in concentrations of 0,5 and 1,0 % for 6 to 24 hours in absence of light at 30 ° C. In the second experiment, seeds remained immersed in the solution of 2, 3, 5 triphenylmethyl chloride at 0,5% and 1,0% for 6 hours at temperatures of 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 ° C. In the third experiment the seeds were conditioned by soaking for two hours on a roll of paper under 25 ° C. Then, the seeds were sectioned and immersed in tetrazolium 0,1% solution for 1 hour under 35 ° C. This methodology was repeated two more times, with the cut changed in the first and the second cut to length beyond the staining for 2 hours. Following each method, the seeds were rinsed in distilled water and evaluated. We conclude the cut made at the time of exposing the carrot seeds in contact with the tetrazolium salt, it is the most influential factor in their coloring. The tetrazolium test can be performed in carrot seeds using two hours in pre soaking period, parallel cutting and withdrawing the embryo near the maximum tissue and immersed in 0,1% solution for two hours under 35 ° C.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES

Os resultados indicam a existência de dependência espacial na deposição da calda nas duas velocidades (1,725 m s-1 e 2,736 m s-1) e aumento de deposição de calda na maior velocidade, tendo a altitude não influenciado na deposição em ambas as velocidadesOperational parameters, such as the speed of offset the tractor/sprayer and physical characteristics of the area, such as relief irregularities may influence the oscillation of the sprayer bar and liquid deposition, affecting the quality of the application. In this study, the spatial variability was evaluated of the relief, the vertical movements of bar of a sprayer operating in two speeds of displacement and the effect on spatial variability of liquid deposition. The altimetry for construction of numerical model of the terrain (MNT) was obtained by total station and the movement of the bar was evaluated through digital videography. For the determination of the deposition of the syrup was added the bright blue marker FDC-1 (0.6%, m v-1) in the spray tank and their absorbance detected spectrophotometrically. Descriptive statistical techniques, spatial analysis (geostatistics) and GIS were used for data analysis. The results indicate the existence of spatial dependence on landfill of a speed to another (6.21 m s-1 and 2,736 m s-1) and increased liquid deposition on higher speed, having the altimetry not influenced in deposition in both velocitiesCoordenadoria de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Ensino Superior (CAPES)Fundação Araucária de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico do Estado do Paran
