The use of minority languages in the digital sphere has become a clear indicator of their linguistic vitality, and one of the contexts where it becomes more apparent is in the way in which young people use these languages in social media. Therefore, this is an essential area to focus on when it comes to debating language diversity in Europe, the importance of which is currently unquestionable. This paper focuses on the study of the hashtag #estiktokat, which has more than 510 million views on the platform and has become a reference when it comes to finding and creating content in Catalan. This hashtag was born from the initiative of a group of young content creators who designed it to share videos in Catalan and to create a community around it. The analysis combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. On the one hand, we carried out semi structured interviews with four creators of the hashtag in order to reconstruct how it was developed. On the other, we compiled and analysed a corpus of the 216 videos with more engagement recovered in TikTok by the #estiktokat hashtag. The results show that the presence of content in Catalan has become normalised on TikTok, with a wide range of topics and active creators, which proves that the hashtag has managed to create a space of communication and interaction in Catalan.

Understanding of workplace cultural diversity is still limited (Jang, 2017). This study responds to the need detected (Arslan et al., 2021) to better analyze the relationship between the performance of multicultural teams and the characteristics of their members. We present an analysis of the influence of transformational leadership, previous international experience, cultural sensitivity and adaptation to the team about its performance. The information has been obtained from 415 members of multicultural teams. The statistical tests carried out include a confidence and validity analysis of the EQS, an ANOVA analysis to identify the significant measured differences through the comparison of the means of the samples and a regression analysis to test the hypotheses. The number of nationalities, the stage of the project, gender and organizational support have been variables of control in the empirical model. Regarding the group of members, the results confirm that there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership, previous international experience, cultural sensitivity, adaptation and the general performance of the team. The leaders, by contrast, only consider cultural sensitivity as an important factor affecting performance.

From theory to practice: how are business leaders nurtured? Lessons from the Ignatian-inspired perspective

There is a need for evidence of successful leadership development models. Much research has analyzed the influence of religion on leadership, which links moral and spiritual development. This is evident in areas such as decision-making, people management, the definition of the organization’s mission, social responsibility towards those affected, the meaning of work and the search for meaning, care in the development of professional careers etc. Following examples related to the Society of Jesus, a leadership development model coupled with training on values should have a holistic approach that takes into account several steps: personalized planning, experiences and tests, reflection, evaluation, training and readings, accompaniment and tutoring.

This article reviews the challenges and opportunities facing industrial companies in europe as a result of the implementation of the European Green Deal, the growth and competitiveness strategy for the European Union announced by the European Commission in December 2019. The objective of achieving a reduction of 55% in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2030 relative to 1990 and zero net emissions in 2050 will force industrial companies to take urgent steps to decarbonize their activities. This will imply profound changes in their business operations and the need to invest in new technologies and processes and substitute clean energy for conventional fossil fuels. In order to support this transformation, sound innovation policies must be put in place and an efficient sustainable finance ecosystem must be developed. The article explores how industrial companies can transform their operations while simultaneously complying with the grand objectives of the European Green Deal and preserving and even enhancing their competitiveness.

The cooperative pedagogical current
Recibido: 19 septiembre 2021Aceptado: 23 marzo 2022The present work constitutes the result of an extended reflection and study of what we understand as a signifier of cooperative education in education from the thought of Robert Owen in that area, putting it in tension with the current educational models. Successive educational reforms implemented throughout the world, with the euphemism of “quality education” and other denominations fail one after the other. On the other hand, there is a need also to publish this second work on this theme built on the basis of that work called “The genesis of Cooperative Pedagogy”, replicating substantial points of it, because it is necessary to insist that it is not possible to be faithful to the cooperative ideology implementing courses, conferences and seminars of cooperative education under the liberal pedagogical guidelines absorbed in the teacher training institutes. We have received many criticisms and some advice in our persistence that cooperativism has its sui genesis pedagogy. We wonder how cooperative education, imbued with liberal pedagogy —is expected to be due to format issues, or an incorrect conception of cooperativism— and also, as a result of the educational crisis, helps to transform or at least indicate changes that demand our societies.

Learners’ attitude towards outcomes-based teaching and learning in higher education
As outcomes-based education (OBE) is now being pursued in the Philippine higher education, learners have expressed their varied sentiments to this new approach. This cross-sectional study on the undergraduate and postgraduate learners sought answers as to what attitudes they may foster towards the success of implementing outcomes-based teaching and learning approach in a State University. It also aimed at determining the relationship between learners’ demographics, and their attitude towards OBE. Findings reveal that learners have positive attitude towards OBE. Correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between learners’ demographics, and their attitude towards OBE. Analysis of variance reveals significant differences in the attitude of learners across degree levels. As the values formation seems to be a source of dispute among the learners of this new approach, it may also be the source of hope for its brighter future. Taking positively, it simply demands both the learners and educators the kind of character that will help them achieve their goals. For it is within the values of everyone to continue with what the implementers have started while waiting to reap its fruit towards excellence in higher education.

Influential factors contributing to the understanding of international students’ choice of Malaysian higher education institutions: Qualitative study with a focus on expected benefits
This research aimed to identify the influential factors contributing to the international students’ choice of Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), focusing on the expected benefits. Additionally, the study contributes to the development of the higher education sector in Malaysia by providing recommendations to the HEIs based on the students’ perceptions. To achieve this purpose, the researchers utilized a qualitative approach through interviews where the study targeted the international students in Malaysia; 18 students were interviewed until saturation was reached. The thematic analysis was utilized to analyze the interviews where five major influential factors were highlighted and investigated: reliability, assurance, tangibility, empathy, and responsiveness. The results showed that the Malaysian universities provide higher than average services to international students, which met most of their expectations; this is clear through the international students’ answers to questions under different constructs such as reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and responsibility. The international students believe that the brand image and reputation of HEIs have a positive impact on their choice and expectations, and they believe that Malaysian HEIs are among the world’s top universities. The study contributes to Malaysian HEIs in terms of the students’ feedback that could be an advantage for existing efforts to develop the academic services of the country.

UAE-based first-year university students’ perception of lifelong learning skills affected by COVID-19
Forcing education institutions to rely on online learning exclusively, the recent pandemic has brought lifelong learning (LLL) to the forefront. The effects of the recent education approaches on students’ LLL skills merit investigation. First-year students may be at a greater risk because of their limited tertiary education experience and universities’ expectations for them to engage in self-directed learning. This study investigated how 38 UAE-based first-year students thought COVID-19 impacted their LLL skills. The quantitative data were collected using a scale while the qualitative data were collected using a reflective task. The results revealed that the students’ overall high score from the scale prior to the pandemic remained stable nine months into it despite a significant decrease in the adaptable learning strategies sub-scale. Yet, some students’ overall LLL scores increased significantly. The qualitative data showed that these students thought they solidified their skills in learning strategies and plans. However, the female students reported a decrease in goal-setting score. Taken together, the results indicate that LLL skills help students reduce the negative impacts of COVID-19 on learning; yet it is still important to note the reducing impact of the pandemic on some students’ skill in adapting learning strategies and setting goals. The results also indicate that LLL skills are malleable and educators can help enhance students’ LLL skills.
