This study was designed to find the nexus between corporate governance and the concern of Nigeria DMBs with the specific role of audit committee financial expertise. Corporate governance is being used by stakeholders to determine the perpetual succession of business organization. This is prevalent in the DMBs and it has led to the expansion in the activities of DMBs as well as dynamic relationships between the management of DMBs and their owners. In lieu of this, this study sought to investigate this issue in the context of Nigeria. The research approach adopted for this study was quantitative. In addition, purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 8 DMBs listed from the sample frame obtained from NSE for the period 2014 - 2021. Using pooled OLS, the study revealed that ACFE has significant impact on DLLP as indicated by coefficient 98.843 with a p-value of 0.005, management equity holding has no significant impact on DLLP with coefficient 14.719 & p-value of 0.082 at 5% level of significance. Therefore, the study recommends that DMBs should increase the proportion of audit financial expertise with accounting background in the committee in order to enhance prudence and accountability. By this, it will boost the investors’ confidence as well as enhance their reputation and ensure their long-term prosperity.
Perceived Organizational Support and Voice Behavioural Performance in Public Organizations in Nigeria
This study investigated the relationship between perceived organisational support and voice behavioural performance in selected public sector organisations in Nigeria. Two dimensions of employees’ voice behavioural performance, which are, promotive voice behavioural performance and prohibitive voice behavioural performance were empirically examined. The organisational support dimensions explored are: employers support, supervisors support, and fellow employees support. A survey research design which employed the use of the questionnaire was used to collect the needed date from the respondents. Data which was generated from three hundred and fifty selected respondents were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as percentages analysis and inferential statistics such as multiple regression. The result of the study revealed that all the three dimensions of organisational support examined, that is, employers support, supervisors support, and fellow employees support were significantly related to promotive voice behavioural performance and prohibitive voice behavioural performance. It is recommended that public sector organisations in Nigeria should provide more support to its employees; direct heads of units and departments in the various ministries and government institutions to put measures in place to improve the well-being of their subordinates and also encourage employees to engage in prosocial behaviour as this might enhance behavioural voice performance
Prenatal zestoretic exposure ameliorates developmental landmarks in rat offspring
Zestoretic, a combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiozide used as anti-hypertension drug prescribed even during pregnancy. Role of zestoretic on the developmental landmars of young ones exposed prenatally are yet to be established. Hence, the present investigation initiated to test in Wistar rats. Three groups of inseminated female rats were oral gavaged with zestoretic (lisinopril varied concentrations + hydrochlorothiozide 12.5mg) 25, 50 and 100 mg/Kg body weight (BW) on gestation days 7, 9, 11 and 13, whereas control group with double distilled water. Clinical toxicity found in few dams from 50 and 100 mg/Kg BW received rat shown aggressive behavior during experimentation. The developmental landmarks, such as pinna attachment, ear opening, fur development, eye opening, upper and lower incisor eruption, crown rump length, vaginal opening and testes descend were measured periodically on their postnatal days in all the young ones. The number of live pups in zestoretic 50, 100 mg/Kg BW administered females are significantly less (
Factors Influencing Farmers\u27 Readiness to Face Covid-19 Post-Movement Control Order Challenges in Peninsular Malaysia
The COVID-19 pandemic is a global health catastrophe that has had severe effects on the worldwide economy, both directly and indirectly, because of the spread of the virus. The food and agriculture industries are also experiencing the effects. The COVID-19 epidemic disrupted the regular delivery system of agricultural extension services and the delivery of agricultural produce to markets. The study aimed to determine farmers\u27 readiness to address post-MCO challenges in technology, implementation, decision-making, and leadership. Following the COVID-19 rules of reducing close contact to minimize virus transmission, a structured questionnaire was delivered to farmers online (Google form) and face-to-face with the support of extension agents. The results show that the relationship between independent and dependent variables was positive. Also, according to the findings, decision-making is the most crucial element influencing farmers\u27 readiness to tackle post-movement control order issues. According to researchers, farmers\u27 abilities should be developed to overcome challenges in pandemic conditions

Using Strategies to Solve Problems in Translating Chinese to English Comics
Comics are required to be translated “accurately” and “appropriately” in order to have the intended message transferred effectively by the translator to the target language receiver. However, problems in comic translation and the effective strategies used in this type of translation, particularly in Chinese-English language pairs, are still under-explored. This paper investigated the problems in translating Chinese comics to English as well as the effective strategies used in the process of translating the comics. Taran’s (2014) and Celotti’s (2014) frameworks were adapted to analyze 71 out of 200 comic strips. The comic strips were selected purposively and consisted of visual and verbal messages. The findings showed that the major problems in translating comics are technical and linguistic problems, while most of the strategies (five out of six) were found effective in the comic translation. The results indicated that identification of the types of problems and exploring the process in which the strategies could assist in translating linguistic paratexts and onomatopoeias in comics in a more sensible and acceptable way. This study has some theoretical and practical implications for translators, students and researchers
Readiness of STEM Teachers to Implement STEM Education in Coastal Schools
STEM education is one of the programs given emphasis in the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025. In this regard, the MOE is increasingly strengthening STEM education to attract more students to enter the STEM field at the school level. Therefore, this study aims to survey the readiness of Science, Mathematics, and RBT teachers to implement STEM education. This study is a quantitative study using a cross-sectional survey method. The instrument used was a set of questionnaires in the form of Google Forms. A total of 307 teachers from coastal primary and secondary schools in Kelantan were selected to be the study sample. Findings show that the level of readiness of STEM teachers implementing STEM education is moderate. While the level of knowledge and attitudes toward STEM education is high. Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive relationship between teachers\u27 readiness to implement STEM education with teachers\u27 knowledge and attitudes towards STEM education for both teachers with less teaching experience (less than 5 years) and teachers with teaching experience (more than 5 years). In conclusion, teachers’ knowledge and attitudes influence teachers’ readiness in implementing STEM education. Teacher experience also affects teacher readiness, but not directly. Therefore, in order to increase the level of readiness of teachers, continuous training and professional courses need to be provided so that STEM teaching and learning are more effective and meaningful
The Story of Che Minah Songket: The Family Business For Cultural And Heritage Economy
The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic a year ago was the trigger of various forms of reaction against individuals and business entities. Though its effects on the survival of businesses depend on the severity and prevalence of the contagion in each geographical location, firms may still face a variety of challenges due to the interdependencies between businesses and customers. Ayam Bismi is not spared the effects and pressures of this challenging situation. Even if the company is operating, as usual, it still needs to review its business operations and tailor them according to its current suitability and needs. This situation raises several questions: What are the issues faced by Ayam Bismi? More specifically, this case would demonstrate how the decisions of the government regarding the Movement Control Order (MCO) continued. This became a push factor for Jaffri Ahmad and Mazlina Kamarudin, the owners of Ayam Bismi, to carry out their usual business activities to sustain this enterprise in these challenging times. But as they were adjusting to the changing business scene and activities, they overlooked certain business issues, specifically the controlled price of chicken in the market, hence burdening the business with ever-constrained cash flows. It would be useful to document their experiences to illustrate the extent of their efforts to which the organization’s strategies were directly affected by the crisis, and how they made a difference to the continuity and viability of Ayam Bismi. Such a case, as well, could facilitate the development of certain steps to mitigate losses from the COVID-19 pandemic. These steps may also be applied outside of crises to bring additional benefits to other types of businesses too.

As Good As Its Taste
The Algerian delegates hurriedly returned after the meeting ended as the Prime Minister had announced the Movement Control Order last night. Haji Mohamed Fauzy Abdul Hamid (Hj. Fauzy), President of the corporate group, stepped towards his Chesterfield office chair. He peered outside the window while reminiscing his first step into the business world four decades ago. Innumerable, valuable experience propped his footing in the MOFAZ building.
“What in the world is a share? I have not the slightest idea about listing. Where can we find that many, Fauzy? I can only spend RM1,000. For the rest, you have to go and ask yourself,” Ahmad’s shrill voice concerned him. He still had to meet 27 other people. “That cannot be all you have, Ahmad. I knew you bought a lot of Nestle stocks last week. They are piled up in your home. You have spent more than RM30,000 on those!” Fauzy’s tone rose. “You know those are capital, right? The margin is small, too, only 2 to 3%!” Ahmad was relentless. They were racking their brains to find a way to obtain RM25 million in 30 days. “If a close friend like you cannot even outlay 1%, who else can I ask?” Fauzy exclaimed and immediately left the building of the Consortium of Bumiputera Nestle Distributors (GAPENEST).
He concentrated his entire thought on how to generate the RM25 million while holding the crumpled letter from Nestle he had received. He was uncertain whether the news was good or bad for GAPENEST and himself
